Gets better as it goes along

Office Girls is a pretty cute show although it does swerve into some melodramatic plotpoints. I would say the first couple of episodes are little frustrating with easily-solvable conflicts dominating the action. The show really picks up about halfway through when the main couple finally gets together. There's a lot of growth in the main couple, which is nice. The dynamic between Lele and the Shi Te Long is kind of creepy though, especially the way he keeps pressuring her to date him even after she rejects him numerous times.

The soundtrack is really good (I feel like that's usually a strong point of Taiwanese dramas). This was the first T drama I watched and I'd say it's a decent, low-stakes show to start with.

Fluffy enjoyable drama

After watching The Bad Kids which is super good but very dark, I need to find something that's light and romantic and doesn't haunt me even after I have finished watching the drama. When I saw that the last day to watch this drama on Netflix is July 31st, I gave it a try. I went in without any expectation, I only want to see Roy Chiu's handsome face.

But the story pulled me in from the first place. It's nothing unique, an heir of a department store who is a spoiled brat through and through has to start from the bottom of the company for him to inherit the company. Along the way he meets a staff from the operations department who is able to change him from a spoiled brat to a responsible person. I have to say I really enjoyed the transformation and the chemistry between Roy Chiu and the female lead. There are also some funny moments. The other cast members are also fun to watch, although sometimes they can be really silly.

What irritates me the most is for Zheng Kai Er not getting a bad ending that she deserved. I really hate her and i wished the writer would give her a bad ending, instead of giving a materialistic bitch another heir to marry. Arrrghhh not happy with this.. Otherwise I would have given this drama a 9 or 9.5 rating. This really irritates me.

Romantic comedy with lots of cute moments and superb acting..

I had initially watched both the leads in MARRY ME OR NOT! And they were outstanding in it... After going back and forth, I finally decided to give this a headshot. The story is pretty simple, but the cast makes it an impressive watch! Roy chiu as the male lead is cute, adorable and simply humorous although even his emotional scenes seemed funny.... Theres loads of chemistry esp between the male lead and the manager with an impressive comic timing. I found the female lead character too naive, dumb, sulking and a little crybaby... I wished there was some character development just like the male lead, but in vain. Alice ke was magnificent in marry me or not ,however in this I felt wanting for more. All in all, definitely worth watching especially for roy chiu...

Run as much as you can and don't look back !

I cannot describe it ! It is so bad written that I don't know how I managed to get until the end! The female character is a a scarecrow most of the time, although it is very functional to create professional ( and love wise) problems . She spend a lot of time saying sorry showing how unprofessional she can be and how to be a horrible woman too, disrespectful to the supposed "love" interest. On the top of that, she´s got a friend even more annoying Lele who is all the time slagging Zi Qi off ( the male character) . There we go again into the old rubbish (supposed to be) romantic plot.
A MMA between Sheng Xin Ren and Zi Qi would be more like. The real problem lying with this " selfish martyr romance" plot type sourced in the romanticism era that DOES NOT FIT ANYMORE!
There is very little to do with love and more with selfishness and martyrdom.
I will use a description from Chingu Mode( member of DML) that had also reviewed Miss Rose ( avoid too if you can, is another waste of time because it portrays a woman in a very ridiculous position and as a non reliable human being towards love ), a lot of his description it suits my perception over Office Girls . I saw myself yelling at every episode( I don´t know why I have insisted... maybe because it was my first Taiwanese series).
Pretty much because portray a woman as an idiot and a man as even more questionable, as there is no reason to pursue someone unloving like Sheng Xin Ren , in one minute she look after him and in another she does things that is a absurd from someone that likes another! Is annoying that in one minute she is all about motherly nature and in another minute she treats him worse than an enemy. There is Chingu Mode view:
" The absolute worst of Taiwanese dramas featuring a female lead so passive, simpering and self-righteous that you'll be rooting for the second female lead to throw her under a bus. "
I agree with Chingu Mode also for Shen Xin Ren of the Office Girls .
I found Office Girls WORST than Miss Rose because Shen Xin Ren is even more disrespectful in all senses towards her love pair.
I finish this review questioning about these ridiculous plots from the genre that in any Country you may find, not only in Taiwan... Wasting talents and perpetuating so-wrong conceptions about love. I saw many Chinese movies using the love theme mixed with comedy and turned out to be nice, one example is Love on Delivery with Stephen Chow. You don't have to go insane to fulfil the genre
As Chingu points out : " I just think it's a relief they don't make these horrid and misogynistic odes to female martyrdom anymore."
Fingers crossed Chingu, fingers crossed!

A Classic

Just rewatched the show after 10 years, and I'm glad to say it's still as good as ever.

You can't expect a romance idol tv show to be realistic, so I just want to talk about the lead couple. The growth in both leads as they navigate through different problems in their work and resolve issues in their relationship. The workaholic FL who takes care of everyone around her learns to value herself more, and the spoilt ML learns to work hard and care for people other than himself. The bond between them is strong af, and no amount of drama or hoes can break them apart. Even when the ML is seemingly caught doing questionable things, the FL will always choose to believe him before anything else. They respect each other's choices and support each other no matter what. Goals.

The last episode throws an unnecessary curveball at you out of nowhere though, and that's my only complaint.

I liked it, but I didn't love it.
If I were to compare other Taiwanese romantic comedies with this drama, this one is a lot less cheesy and cringe-worthy. Zheng Kai Er, played by Tia Li, annoyed the heck out of me throughout the entire drama. That being said, she did a great job here. Zi Qi and Xing Ren's love story is very pure and cute. Xing Ren's character kinda irked me after 20 episodes in. They made her character too naive and a pushover. I've seen too many female lead characters similar to this, that I just can't really fully enjoy this drama that much.
It's a kind of drama you would want to watch to pass time and binge watch. The story isn't something new, and expect to see those drama cliches.

The humor in this drama is weird, but hilarious. The random usage of Japanese, Korean and English phrases is too funny. Shi Te Long, played by Patrick Li did an amazing job with the comedy portion of this drama. His childish and weird antics stole the show.

I finished this drama a week ago and I still can't stop thinking about it. Roy Chiu and Patrick Li were like tag team comics, absolutely hilarious. I agree with another reviewer, Patrick Li Literally stole the show. He is so freakin funny!!! I would like to watch him again in more romantic comedies. You can tell Patrick works out too. Behind that goofy nerdy guy, beats the heart of a rebel (watch sauna scene, hot bod with killer tats). I became a big Roy Chiu fan after watching Office Girls, and think acting wise, this was his best work. He is so freakin adorable when he smiles and his eyes light up. My favorite scene in the drama was the Monkey Underwear Scene! It kept me in stitches. This drama is a must watch. It's got a little of everything, but most of all it will make you feel good and laugh a lot! Highly Recommend! BTW, those of you who will rewatch it,, pay attention to the scene in the early episodes where Roy predicts Patrick Li will get transferred to Frozen Foods and the ending.

Well-written, well-acted, well plotted, good balance between funny and serious. All the good things. (Especially Roy Chui.)

Buuuuut not a favorite. Would it Kill our female lead to be a Little more romantic towards our male lead???

(Music is 1 because I don't remember what the music was like. If I rewatched dramas...I honestly don't know if I would rewatch this one or not.)
