Both the main characters are really likeable and the plot is quite simple but I wasn't bored at all watching it. The main character is a high school boy used to being adored by everyone who gets a bit of a reality check when the main girl doesn't agree to go out with him immediately. This is a common plot that I've always found a bit annoying because even if the guy eventually falls for her personality, for the majority of the time he was still a jerk. In this movie however, except for their first encounter, the main guy pursues her because he genuinely likes her and knows it too (it's not for his "hottest-guy-in-school-pride", which shows cause he just throws dignity out the window lol). The male lead is actually very selfless and kind and really good person. This later comes to his disadvantage, actually. Also, watching him become super awkward and more "uncool" as none of his confessions work is really funny and cute.
This is a short super cute show with a really nice ost, pretty cinematography, friendship feels and a really nice little love story. If you want to watch it I suggest watching the really short drama with the same name that acts as a prequel to this. You'll understand the plot better and get to see how much the main guy loves his friends and how he always helps them out as well as seeing his friend's own love stories, which are equally cute.
I totally recommend this if you want to watch something fluffy and sweet and feel-good. A movie with lots of heart. honestly.

Appearances can be deceiving
NOTE: Slight spoilers are in the section headlined ' spoiler section '. You have been warned.A classic rom com with all the regular stuff you'd expect. The high school setting. A festival. Misunderstandings and so on. But the premise is slightly different so that is what slightly separates it from other dramas.
First item on the list is the cast. And I thoroughly enjoyed this cast. Nakagawa Taishi is right up there with Yamzaki Kentaro as solid romcom drama male protagonists and htis movie utilises him very well. Even though he is Mr. Good Looking, there is more dpeth to his character. Playing Furuya Touwa, he is a kind and caring guy even if he sometimes acts arrogant and dense. This is what makes him more likeable the movie goes on, considering that he sheds this boastful persona and reveals his true self. You want to root for him but you also sigh and condemn him sometimes for the things he says and does.
Karata Erika plays Miwa Misono is a great pick as the female lead for this movie. Like Furuya, she is a multi-layered character that conceals more than she lets on. Her cool exterior also hides a more vulnerable and sensitive side that is gradually revealed and explained more and more as the movie goes on. As for the the secondary and supporting roles, which are Touwa's squad, they're a fun bunch and give this movie some of its comedy and plot points. As Touwa's friends, they drive the plot forward as well as Furuya's character development.
The plot itself is a slight variation of the stereotypical romcom drama formula but it still holds its own. There are moments when it is serious and also when it chooses to be funny and both are executed well. As for the pacing, in my opinion, it is just right and allows the story to develop naturally which is something I'm glad to see in a movie.
Overall, this movie is a good watch. Not amazing, but certainly not bad. I liked this movie a lot and found it to be really entertaining while also being thought-provoking . Would definitely recommend.
SPOILER SECTION:
Onto some specifics. Furuya is just plain endearing, but it takes time for him to get to this point. Seeing him put in earnest effort and work for the sake of his convictions, coupled with his honest intentions, it puts him in a new light and make me smile. He sets aside his pride and ' cool image ' in light of pursuing Misono because he wants to prove himself to her, but also help her and see her smile. Watching his transformation unfold and insistence on proving himself is heartwarming. I love that he prioritises her and is not stalkerish or weird in his aproach. He's still awkward but he can't be faulted for that. Just wholesome.

I know it's a movie so they had to squish everything into an hour and 35 minutes, but the development of the relationship between the main characters was really fast-paced, and I didn't see the chemistry between the two even until the end. The ending especially was really rushed, and I thought it was weird.
But, I did like the dynamic of the friend group, and some parts were entertaining.
I'd suggest watching this if you have nothing to watch, to be honest.

Quick, easy watch
This movie wasn't bad, but something felt off about it to me. Was there something missing? Was it too rushed? It was probably a combination of the two. The characters didn't feel fleshed out to me. The ML was apparently idolized by all the girls, yet he was pretty much an idiot when around the FL. His behaviors/movements always seemed over-the-top and kind of frenetic. The FL was very pretty, but she only had one expression throughout the movie.I enjoyed the bad guys that weren't actually bad guys, as well as the friendships. It's an okay movie to watch for mindless entertainment. There's nothing in it to irritate you, but there also isn't much in it to get excited about.

towa was such a loveable male lead :(
honestly , at first I thought that would be a nice funny movie but towa , that boy , made me so emotional at some point. he was so sincere. his sincerety literally made this not so special movie a lot memorable for me. his honesty , his neverending effort to get her love but his first priorty always being her happiness to the point he did everything he can to make her meet masaki thinking she would confess to him. he really was a loveable male lead.on the other hand , miwa was kinda messy for me :( I wish the story and the actress could make me believe miwa was actually also in love with towa but somethings just felt empty about her feelings.I dont know ,maybe it was because of towa's strong way of expressing his love and him making a lot of effort but she still didnt feel like she loved towa THAT WAY. it just looked like she was enjoying his sincerety and company so the romance factor was all one sided for me. I dont know about acting either ,maybe it just wasnt my style but the acting of the actress felt a bit weak as well but of course , maybe she just wanted to not show much expression since miwa is a cold one , not saying anything about her general acting skills.I just wasnt satisfied with her performance at this one.
at the end , the actor of towa did a great job and the character towa makes this non special yet funny movie a lot special with his sincerety. like I said tho , even without towa it was enjoyable and funny but towa really made it special somehow. i am obviously a sucker for loser like sincere male leads...
its not too long , i definitely recommend this for 1.5 hours of giggles. it was cute and warm
