Childhood friends, Takamura Kazuya and Washio Seiji, live opposite lives following their graduating from high school 20 years ago. Kazuya is a police officer, while Seiji is a yakuza member. One day, Kazuya, who had done a distinguished service in arresting an offender who violated the Narcotics Control Law, is promoted to a detective, which was his long-cherished wish.
