Just watched this - it IS quite funny, especially if the viewer has annoying siblings (I don't but I still loved it). However, the ending is bittersweet and will tug your heartstrings.....and tear ducts. I cried my way through the last ten minutes or so. So go in with tissues, chocolate and water - you will need it....unless you have no soul, in which case don't worry.

This movie is really lovely - and definitely brings home the old saying "you never miss someone until they're gone...." We often don't appreciate those we love the most until they're no longer around. The ending is a cliffie so be prepared to hurl abuse, tearfully or otherwise (mine was very tearful but very definitely annoyed too). I hope there's another movie where she perhaps helps another set siblings overcome their differences without ending up as she did or something - so that way we at least know if the end......changed the cliffie (sorry, I don't know how to word that without spoilers....so take what I offer and run with it).

So now to the usual review stuff:

STORY - The story was pretty good; very much along the lines of what I think many siblings wish for when not getting along. The beginning was very funny. I laughed a lot and I thought the female lead would immediately regret her decision, but she didn't. The last ten minutes or so were very bittersweet - unless you have heart of stone, I mean it, you WILL cry though it's not really an unhappy ending......just...open,

ACTING/CAST - the two leads playing the siblings were EXCELLENT. Seriously they were really good; especially Peng Yu Chang who played the older brother Shi Fen. That young man is destined for great things you can see that already. The rest of the cast were pretty good too - the mum was played well, and the actor playing her boyfriend was very goo in his role as the bumbling but earnest stepfather to be. But Chang Peng Yu was the best of the whole lot, with Zhang Wendy as Shi Miao a solid second. The last scene will tear your heart I swear and you'll see why I'm praising these two so highly.

MUSIC - that's a straight 8 all day. Not terrible, but not memorable either; though it did really play well with the final scenes.

RE-WATCH VALUE - ooh that was a tough one to call; for me it was a definite 9 because I would definitely watch this again AND make all my bickering cousins sit down with their siblings and watch it too. But others might feel differently.

OVERALL - for me it was a 9.5 because the message was clear and simple - be grateful for who you have in your life because when they're gone you'll miss them and it's often to late then. It's a simple message and one that too many movies and dramas overdo; really labour the point, thereby making it a lot more complicated than it should (or even needs to) be. This movie however, kept it simple and the more touching because of it. The message remained the same, but more simply told and therefore all the more moving because of it.

I think it's also a movie that parents who leave older siblings as the younger children(s) caretaker/babysitter/entertainer, etc should watch. YOU have kids because YOU want them, so DON'T make the older ones the 'parents' to the younger ones so that you can have a social life/career - you should've thought of that BEFORE producing offspring.

Finally, I would say this - really, give this movie a try........you won't regret it.

Writing a review is not my thing but since this movie is really really good, here you go!

STORY - This movie is a good watch, it's like riding a roller coaster-- one moment you were laughing, then the next second you would be grabbing a tissue somewhere in the room. To put it short, the story is relatively simple. It is beautifully simple, not simple as in plain/bland. Very relatable.

CAST - 10/10!! Both leads did a really great job, for real. Actors really did bring the characters to life. No cringy actings, no over actings. It hits right on the spot. The story itself is really great, the actors made it even better by executing things well.

MUSIC - Music really did fit the scenes well! Sets the mood well but I have heard a lot more OSTs that are really really good so i cannot give this a 10/10.

REWATCH VALUE - I would definitely rewatch this movie! I personally see movies like this a good rewatch since I like light movies. This is a good movie if you're in the mood for some laughter and tears.

OVERALL - just.... no words left it's 10/10. That's all!

*sorry, it's my frist time writing a review!

So I just want to start off by saying that this is the first movie that I have ever watched where I’ve actually cried, it was such an amazing story and so well played. I felt like specific lines that the characters said just felt so deep and emotional... ahh, I can’t really describe how this movie made me feel in words!

STORY - It was a pretty developed plot and the overall message of “you don’t realize someone’s value until they are gone” is well portrayed. At the beginning, I felt angry at the brother for all his pranks and everything, but as the story progressed, it got much more emotional.

ACTING/CASTING - I feel like the actors did very well with their acting, it felt like they were really siblings and went through these things together.

MUSIC - The Music was well placed within the movie, but nothing very memorable, at least for me.

REWATCH VALUE - It’s just a story that sticks with you and I loved it, I’ll definitely be rewatching this after some time.

OVERALL - I loved this movie and I would definitely recommend watching it. I feel like you need to have a sibling to really understand everything, idk. Also, the story really made me wish I had an older sibling like this, but it also made me want to BE an older sibling like the brother.

Just go watch it! No regrets!

the story was simple and silly, but I love plots with the "a wish magically comes true" trope~ it had the Big and 13 going on 30 kind of a vibe and it was really sweet to see the truth behind the sibling "rivalry".

a few of my favorite lines were "she knows too much about you, she must be your nemesis" xD "it was a blessing to be Shi Miao's brother" and the best one "you forgot something. ME" TT_TT

when the movie start we see this overly childish kinda annoying kid that won't stop bothering his sister and the sister that just can't take him anymore that she wishes him away, but instead of just disappearing he becomes her best friend's brother and through that she starts to see the reasons behind her brothers actions ;(

the parents were horrible people tbh, and the events in the movie were pretty basic but they delivered the sibling love really well.

I'm so used to dramas vr of "teenagers" that a real 16 year old looked too young to be 16 xD also now I see the brother was almost 23 but he captured the annoying youthfulness of a 18(?) year old really well, though again he also looked younger xD

Siblings always fight right? Well, one day a sister wishes that her brother would disappear, next thing you know she wakes up & her brother is now her best friend's brother. Through watching the actions her brother takes as a sibling to someone else she comes to understand & respect him more & realise what a good brother he actually is. The only problem is will she be able to get her brother back to actually being her brother?! I just cannot make my mind up on this film, I was going to rate it a 4 then a 7, in the end, I chose a 5 because it is okay but I wouldn't buy it. I may watch it again & change my mind but I doubt it. The timeline was very convoluted, I couldn't work out who he was the brother to half the time and the ending was just confusing for me. The acting is good & it can give you the feels if you're not too confused by it all. It definitely made me wish that I had a brother like that when I was growing up but by the end of the film I was just too worn out from thinking about what was going on to actually enjoy the film which was disappointing.
