This show is amazing. Shout out to Neko for those subs. An easy 1-2 day watch for sure.

A little confusing and slow at first but It's absolutely amazing in every way, shape and form and I'm not even over exaggerating that. I mean to each their own but let me tell you, the story starts off a little much because you're like "what's going on?" it's also a remake of many other remakes so you don't even know if it's going to be the same as all the other stories, but trust me, you will not be let down. I went from being like "eh" to laughing, crying and just going with the flow of this show. It really just made me feel some type of way.

The story is exactly what it is and more; it's not your average country girl and city guy fall in love, not at all. You've got your death, you've got your drug trafficking, a little bit of sex trafficking and I wouldn't say love triangle but it gets a little complicated between the characters. The main characters do end up falling in love but the story is not even based off of romance; so don't expect much in that area but the chemistry that Oom and Mai have together is amazing. You're gonna fall in love with the families from both the main characters and how understanding everyone is; even though the girl friend is a little frustrating; you're gonna love the bond between the friends as well. Even with all the plot twist and turns, you'll want to keep watching because there's so much going on but it's so greatly developed you really don't feel like you're missing out on anything.

The acting was wonderful, like huge ups to every single person. The side characters even just straight up felt like main characters and I've personally never seen anyone of these actors or actresses in shows but they played every single so right. With the main guy playing such a sweet guy, I'm definitely a sucker for shows where the guy is just nice through and through and doesn't lead anyone else on. He knows how to keep his distance and when to push as well. Female lead? AMAZING. Her acting was so funny and she played so well at being extra from going from the jungle to the city to learning how to just act right. The best friend? Wonderful man, he was really just the underdog and the girl best friend? For someone that was playing someone kind of evil, she wasn't bad at all. Everyone else? They did that.

The music? Dope. If you have apple music, you should download it; peep it though because it's so catchy.

Rewatch value? 100/100. After I finish it, I feel like I should watch it all over again just to get that feeling. It's been a long time where I've just been hooked on a show and don't want it to end or stop but I also don't feel like I need to force myself because I'm sitting on edge. It was just good for a day off and then some. I even felt myself getting sad because I was like "what am I gonna do when this is over?" I still don't know what I'm going to do tbh. lol.

Overall? It was worth everything and anything if you love a good lakorn; which is rare because I've yet to watch such a mind blowing thai lakorn that really makes me go "omg" well, I have but just not one with this story line. It's the perfect amount of good acting, comedy, action and chemistry.

Let me start by saying that I didn't mean to watch this lakorn initially; I mixed this up with another lakorn I meant to watch (how could that happen right? Well it's been a long time since I last watched lakorns...). That being said I don't regret watching this. The first episode is kinda confusing as I thought this was a rom-com (and it is for the most part) but there was tragedy where the FL's father passed away. The way the FL and villagers reacted to it was kinda weird, but I rolled with it and ended up finishing the series. Here's what I think:

The story is standard where you have an FL from the jungle brought to the city by the ML, who swore to protect her after her father passed away. We see how he brings her there to learn and open her world more. Along the way there's some drug dealers that have been messing with her village and the ML's work life, and we see how all four leads work together to bring the head honcho down. I thought this was great, as it's been awhile since I've seen everyone work towards a common goal. It was especially great with the villagers; I loved the leader, the two bros and Fahlan haha. They added a lot of colour to the plot and it was great to see them care for the FL. You figure out who the bad guy is pretty early on, and he gets what he deserves in the end. So all in all, a cohesive story.

I liked the lead couple, Mdee and Pao. Mdee is a strong, spirited young lady who can sometimes be too stubborn for her own good. I liked that she wasn't afraid and took matters into her own hands instead of leaving things alone. Unfortunately she didn't do this where it mattered most; instead of believing in her love for Pao, she chose to go away because of their class difference. I guess I could understand, but come on, she had strong convictions the entire drama only to falter here. It was also awkward to see her look shocked or act awkward when Pao was being affectionate with her. I also wish Pao was more forthcoming with his feelings (when he realized them). However Pao's character was great; I really appreciated how he wanted to do things the right way and it was cute to see him confused on whether he loved Mdee like a daughter or lover. Both were cute together and I didn't oppose it (plus the staircase scene..hohoho).

The 2nd leads are where I have mixed feelings. I wasn't too happy to see the actor who played Jaet, as I didn't like him in KMSY. But actually he was a lot better here. He had good chemistry with Mdee and Wan, and was in general a good friend. Love-wise tho...he's a bit of a mess. I really didn't like how he tried to kiss Wan when he knew she wasn't interested in him (and she said no) and then went on to get angry at her for not comforting him when he had a hard time. Like, ok sir? He started to then crush on Mdee which is fine, but then flipped back to Wan after "actually" realizing her loved her all along. Wan was also a mess, but her backstory and character was more developed. She's been forced to live only by what her mom dictates and has developed inferiority and depression issues because of it. It doesn't excuse some of the bad things she did in the lakorn, but she does redeem herself in the end and becomes a better person with more self-love.

The theme song for this is pretty cute and catchy. The only thing I didn't like was the baby music they played when Mdee was thinking about Pao; I thought that was pretty cringy. Overall, this was a pretty easy watch and the romance is quite fluffy; while it's not exactly my cup of tea, I can appreciate it for what it is and would recommend you check this out.

FIRST EVER!!! FERFECT HAHAHAHAHA

I was scrolling in my computer when I bump into this drama. I am a fan of Thai drama series and as much I could I will try to finish a drama without skipping but there are instances that I got frustrated and drop it due to poor scripting or poor portraying of the character. And eventually the series will seriously get flop/drop(based on my thoughts and opinion). I will not blame the actors or actresses. Maybe they are not fit with the character they were given. Any way lets go back to this series, so for the first episode I was kind of skeptical on what is going on. I was like so this is it, nothing more??But I stick around and after a few episodes it becomes light and entertaining. The scenes where very funny and I was laughing hard. The chemistry of the main couple was really good. I know it's a typical drama wherein at first the girl does not like the boy but eventually they develop some deep feelings. The main plot of the story is not really eye-catching but if you stick around eventually you will learn to love it. I think this is one of those drama that was underrated. The scripting for this was really good I mean after watching each episodes it becomes entertaining and there was no boring part.(applause to the writers/director and crew) By the way the OST of these was really cute and addicting. The female lead was really CUTE the way she act. HAHAHA can't get enough of this couple. I was glad that they made it in mid range number episodes(no too many). All in all this one is really good drama to watch. It is also one of those drama that I would RECOMMEND for you to watch. I now it is not a top rated drama but again as I've said it is a underrated. A diamond in a rough.
PS :HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR YOU TO WATCH.
This show is Entertaining. Shout out to NEKO for those subs(KINDLY SUPPORT). An easy 1-2 day watch for sure.

lighthearted romance with butterflies

I am writing this review as a second time watcher and there are alot of good things bad also negative tropes.
The GOOD:
The really nice thing about this drama is that the scene sequences and the cuts are well done. At first it might seem like a slow burn but the push and pull between Mewadee and Songpao is very adorable and lovely, sometimes i sit in my seat and fangirl for a minute. The note worthy aspect of this drama is that Songpao makes it very clear to wan (SFL) that he is not interested which makes it clear that Pao is not like an oblivious or ignorant man who is leading on two women. The friendship between Pao, Wan and Jaet is also worth the watch, they are all close friends who want comfort from each other but clearly as adults they all draw their own lines, indicating what is okay and what is not. Jaet and Wans story development is also interesting. It is nice to see how they break through their past selves and grow. the way the story flows is relatively well done in contrast to what you usually see in thai dramas. The romance trope is also well done. The overall themes of mental health, environment awareness, sincerity and kindness are explored in a relatable way.
THE BAD:
However I noticed something which i could not let go of. In the first 8 episodes despite the push and pull and tension, Pao continues to act as a FATHER to Mewadee. He lets everyone advise him as if he was raising a daughter, to the point where people do mistake mewadee as his daughter.Point to be noted is shes 19 and him at the most 10 years older. It would have made more sense that Pao brings Mewadee to Bangkok with a promise of marriage and how they move forward, but the child to love interest was difficult. Thankfully Mewadee never sees him as such, and I assume the only reason Pao acts liKe that is because he is much older, but still a little weird.
They discredit Mewadee alot in this drama. She is a badass and temperamental girl who literally kicks gangster butt and can hunt animals, but they treat her as if she is the silliest and the most inexperienced woman. They classically downplayed the female leads ability to hold her own in a city setting just because its a new place.

Easy fluffy watch!

This is a pretty tame lakorn compared to the others that I have seen so far! No slap and kiss, no violent screechy Nang'rai, a SML who backed off easily and no evil relatives. What you get instead is a fun, slapstick and cute show that also addressed certain social issues like environmental conservation, as well as drug and sex trafficking. On the whole, it was a well-executed story. It seems to be a popular show with this being the 5th remake!

It was a fun watch and the major draw for me was the really great rapport and interactions among the different actors. There were a few one-dimensional characters but for the most part, everyone played their roles well. There were serious moments but the show did a great job interjecting comedic moments and sound effects so the scenes never got too dark. A warning though - there were guns and violence but nothing makjang or over the top.

Oom Hosuwan and Mai Sirisantana have good chemistry but I personally find Oom acting too cutesy at times as Mewadee and I don't see her matching nicely to Songpao's more matured charms. As adorable as Oom is, Mai is on a whole different level of hotness. I think there was a missed opportunity for the writer to develop Mewadee's character further, as she learned to navigate and adapt to life in the city. They started off well with different elders including Songpao offering life lessons but somehow that messaging got lost. If Mewadee displayed more growth and maturity as she spent more time with Songpao and his family, I would have enjoyed the couple's slow burn romance more. That said, the romance when it finally happened was pleasant. Mewadee was an awesome female lead - strong, smart, brave and pretty but too stubborn for her own good. Songpao was like the perfect male lead, not leading anyone else on, drawing the line clearly with Wan, always decent and charming, and once he realized he loved Mewadee, was steadfast in his pursuit of her. It was funny seeing him trying to stick to being the good guardian who should love Mewadee as a daughter at first. Thank goodness he had his dad to set him straight, telling him to follow his heart especially where there was no wrong doing.

I loved the families - Songpao's parents and Mewadee's elders were awesome, wise and supportive. On the other hand, the secondary couple was so so. Jaet was a pretty bland but upright character. I did like him for his loyalty to his friends and his filial piety to his father while still standing on the side of goodness. His role in the love triangle was more to stir up Songpao's feelings for Mewadee. While Wan was not your typical clingy, crazy second female lead, she was passive-aggressive and scheming hiding behind a virtuous mask. Annoying but nothing that will make your blood pressure rise. The two actors who played Jaet and Wan were fine but in general, there were no characters that required the actors to flex their acting muscles much. That included Mai and Oom.

The music selection was excellent - catchy and fitting. My favourite was เป็นไปได้ไหม /Bpen Pai Dai Mai (Is it Possible?) by Tar Mr.Team & Lookwa Pijika that played during the more poignant moments between Songpao and Mewadee. A shout out to NekoMeowMeow for subbing the show and providing links to the songs.

Overall, I would recommend this show if you are in a mood for a light humorous lakorn that delves into certain serious topics.

The early "jungle episodes" were practically unwatchable, with the stupid cgi lions running around, with the main girl having constantly stained face with something brown (they clearly did that for us to "marvel at her beauty" after she finally washes it off in the city), yelling like a boy (or trying to yell like a boy) and the main guy being... eh, Mai Warit. When a lakorn tries to be something else than romance (action/gunfight/crime/etc) I find it tiring, so I was bored with this in episode 2 already. I had to literally force myself to stick with this till it finally reaches the city part, then I was entitled to drop it if it STILL does not appeal to me.

Something that can at least be called enjoyable interactions between the main leads begins in episode 5. Btw. Jack Chaleumpol looks like he lost some weight. It's good, it was beginning to get dangerous, lol. On the other hand, the main girl meets her female rival in the city. Irony is, now she finally properly washed her face, she looks exactly like her, there's no real difference in between the two girls. Thai are obsessed with white skin and would never allow anyone one shade from ivory to actually appear onscreen. It's a mockery of people really living in jungle. Same with the city life: her friend, the "jungle boy", is taking selfies with his smartphone exactly two days later.

The "crime" plot is of course even more stupid, as traditional with thai lakorns... Everyone acts like a moron to keep some "drama" on for more number of episodes, but I cannot avoid the crept feeling of thai tv using these naive scripts to somehow justify the crime syndicates and corruption occuring in real Thailand. Would they do better to concentrate on the romance? Yes, they would.

But, when at least the crime situation, no matter how stupid it is, creates good romantic tension, it cannot be utilized as there is no kiss in the lakorn. So, second couple cannot kiss and as for the main couple, I realized I don't care whether they'll get to be together or not. He treats her like a little sister. I imagined she stops behaving like a little monkey for a second and he falls in love with her and passionatelly kisses her? Huh, we would not get to see that anyways. Either way, I was tired to watch this to the end... I did not finish the 8th episode.

A vos écrans :) :)
