More Than Blue (2018)

Frustrating

The whole movie is just a hot mess of communication issues. If everyone was more honest with each other it wouldn't have been as bad, but then again the movie would be completely different from start to end if that was the case. I found the whole thing more frustrating than sad.

The acting was great and I liked most of the main characters in general. However the whole plot did not do them justice. I feel like a couple of the side characters could have been brought into the story differently -especially the photographer who was the one character that made me cringe with irritation every time she showed up.

I wouldn't waste your time on this one. The Korean one I felt was better, but I think if I re-watched it after seeing this one I may knock my rating down a star or two just because I realize the plot in general is not my cup of tea. I prefer honesty even if it hurts momentarily to just living through a lie.

Before I dive into the film, I found out that this is a remake from 2009 of the same name with Lee Bo Young, Kwon Sang Woo, and Lee Bum Soo. I haven't watched the original one but I'll probably will sometime.

This film left me with bittersweet feeling (mostly bitter but not the extent that I hate it); I didn't cry throughout the whole film, I guess I just felt sad about it but not to the point I cried my heart out; there are times when I thought the characters are selfish and didn't communicate well. There are thoughts of what if; what if she just talks to him about it or what if he just admits it to her because maybe they could have more time to talk it out but I guess that's just a wishful narrative of mine. The characters always say they are each other's family but if they are really a family, they could have talked about it and maybe one of them could be saved but we can't deny the character's background as the side characters understood that both of them connected with their loneliness that rather they wallow into it,they facade it with happiness and they became each other's savior during that process.

Film ini memiliki semua nilai plus di produksinya kecuali cerita, sungguh sebuah kekejaman untuk menyakiti orang lain hanya karena kamu ingin melihat orang yang kamu sayangi bahagia.
Film ini bercerita tentang 2 orang yang sangat malang bertemu dan kemudian bersatu, mengisi satu sama lain, tinggal bersama, dan sadar bahwa keduanya mempunyai rasa memiliki satu sama lain, hingga tokoh cowok terdiagnosis sakit parah, mengetahui hal tersebut, tokoh cowok ingin sang wanita bahagia dengan mencintai orang lain sebelum ia pergi sehingga ia tidak akan sangat sedih, mendengar harapan tersebut tokoh cewek mewujudkannya, ia kemudian menaruh perhatian pada salah satu dokter, sang cowo mengetahuinya dan mereka berdua merusak hubungan tunangan si dokter yang akhirnya menaruh hati pada tokoh cewek lalu menikah, di hari kematian karakter cowok, tokoh cewek menjelaskan semua kepada second lead male bahwa cintanya selama ini Palsu, ia menyusul karakter cowok dengan bunuh diri.
WHAT A JERK STORY !!! Saat mengetahui motivasi keduanya saya sangat kecewa dengan ide dari film ini. Saya tidak merasa blue (Sedih) menonton film ini seperti yang diharapkan oleh Judulnya. Saya merasa marah.
