The ml characters of both dramas give off the same vibe.
The fl character dynamic is also very similar

The female leads in both dramas are from rich and well-known families.
In both dramas, the female leads are going through a tough moment connected to family. One is struggling to pay off her late father's debt while the other still performs daughter-in-law duties to her ex-husband's family for the sake of her own family.
For the female leads in both dramas, the presence of the male leads is like a breath of fresh air amidst their problems.
The male leads in both dramas are witty, sweet, kind, funny and offer great comfort and support to the female leads.

Both dramas focus on quiet, introspective characters who fall in love while trying to rebuild themselves. They offer slow-burning emotional intimacy rather than dramatic conflict. If you enjoyed the soft healing vibe, meaningful silences, and understated romance of When the Weather Is Fine, Encounter will feel like another gentle, soul-soothing watch with beautiful visuals and heartfelt conversations.

You will not find many similarities between them.

JBL (or Rain or Shine, why did you change the name, it was always Just Between Lovers, hence JBL) is about two average, not loaded with money, people which are dealing with similar ptsd after surviving the same tragic event.
E is about average guy and loaded lady falling for each other against their surroundings.

HOWEVER the sweetness and innocence of their relationship, the slow burn, the nice things the guy is doing for the lady, the way the lady starts to trust - those are things I found similar. And also the poor camera man who was desperately trying to do cute pictures from different angles (I'm laughing here, but yeah both dramas are really nicely directed, there are sunsets and cute scores in the background).

Two office romance about a older woman with experience and a position falling for a much more younger man that still needs to build his career and personality. The tone and the pace are different Encounter is more mature, sensitive and melo. Encounter has also a magnificent cinematography, opening credits were awful but the rest is beautifully filmed.

Older woman/Younger man relation with office(superior/subordinate or boss/employee) setup. Takane no Hana-san is light-hearted though.

The vibes are similar. Both the main leads fall in love, but are unable to begin the relationship. Both the dramas are healing romance slow yet amazingly portrayed.

Age gap. One is Japanese young girl older man, the other one is Korean drama with young man older woman.

Both dramas stars Song Hye Kyo as the female lead that is in a "forbidden relationship". The pace of the dramas are similar as well.

The cinemography is spectulaer especially at the beginning with the views from around Cuba. The graphics, plot and the way the leads portrayed their characters so incredible. I'm currently watching and enjoying each episode thus far. I deffinalty recommend this Drama.

The main similarities between these two are career women meeting younger men, and the challenges the "opposite age gap" leads to.
Where "Encounter" has a bit more plots to it, Sunshine by my side is more "slice of life", I would say.
