What the fk did I just watch.

I was done with 8 episodes when I got curious about the ending. I had a hunch that it wouldn't be a good one, so I looked it up on youtube. Nothing came up so I thought nothing of it, expecting an okay ending.

Nope, it felt as if the writers were fired midway writing the drama and some producer just freestyled the ending. It was very well filmed, I'll give them that, but why kill off pretty much the whole cast? If I remember correctly the dance instructor is still alive, if you were to kill 90% of the cast, why let her live? She was never anyones favorite part of the kdrama anyway.

The leads were well written, but sloppy ending just ruined it all for me. It was meant to be sad and tearful when he killed her, but I just couldn't even begin to feel bad, their own actions lead up to that moment. If they were a little smarter that wouldn't have needed to happen.

Overall not worth watching, just wasted 16 hours of my life that I will never get back.

Don’t bother watching :/

When I came across this drama I didn’t actually read the reviews and watched it with no specific expectations apart from the story. I wish I read the reviews first….

First few eps, from ep 1 to around ep 11/12, the drama and the story progression was getting interesting. But afterwards it just goes downhill. The leads become pessimistic and they just aren’t the same vibrant characters that they started of as. The FL especially became so pessimistic as you go through the drama, it got tiring to watch.

The story just becomes so jumbled halfway through, it was a struggle to finish the drama.
The fact the ML could see ghosts was kinda brushed off in the middle as well -_- he has like a few interactions with ghosts other than the villain but other than that nothing else, even then those interactions stopped abruptly when the ML said, oh I told them not to appear in front of me when I’m at home in exchange for offering incense -_- then only seeing them again at the final episode.

The villain is unnecessarily OP… everyone basically unaliv**, including the FL and even the 2 side CP weren’t spared -_- the villain was so OP that when he finally got defeated in the end, it was anticlimactic…. nobody gets a HE smh. And the villain’s reason for doing all those things was cuz he didn’t get consoled by the ML???? What kind of reason is that????? And really just ruined the image I initially had of him.

The ending wasn’t any better either, there’s closure -ish and I guess you could say open ended but it leaves watchers unsatisfied.

Value of content

I read some reviews and agree that the first half of the series was excellent, suspenseful and comical. I loved Jun-hee Ko as Seo-jeong and enjoyed Song Sae-bteok as Pil-seong, the detective. Acting from all cast members was superb. The storyline let me down in the next part of the series. When Seo-jeong became the Shaman and she couldn't solve the problem, I knew then that she was going to be killed by the detective, predictable. Seo-jeong could foresee events in the future, but did not foresee that the villain was not going to keep his promise. I was disappointed with the second half of the series. It was frustrating and drawn out. It was giving me me the impression that evil is going to reign. I just wanted to go to the last episode to see the outcome, which I said was disappointing. As to what happened to the little girl that the detective took to hospital remained a mystery. Some of the Korean series that I have seen have been excellent, eg Tunnel. Yes they did meet up in a new life at the end, another story maybe. Enjoyed it but room for improvement.

Storyline was extreme to say the least

The two main characters were kindred spirits in which their love story was gut wrenching and pure. The soundtrack was beautiful. Actors? Acting? A1! But the storyline was so unrealistic (even as a drama) that it became infuriating. To have have a demon have such extraterrestrial powers they never would have in reality with the never ending ability to wreak havoc and chaos was irresponsible and frustrating. Even as a shaman, the main female character was POWERLESS to stop the demon. In the end, I guess the message was that Good wins ultimately. But after how many casualties including the wipe out of the main cast? I’m left feeling lost and slightly annoyed at the story writers. This is amongst my favorite genre but now I have trust issues. I would guess the attitude towards the viewers was a bit sadist. If it ended anything like ‘The Guest’ for example, I would have felt GOOD actually won with somewhat of a happy ending. Tragic that they all perished. The only closure was that they met again in their next life.

I'd like to add that the first Hwang Daedu was literal sh**. He was already an evil person to begin with who worshiped and summoned the bastard from the dead. It was pleasing to see him gone.
The 2nd H.d.d played him perfectly. the laugh, the annoying wicked smile and voice was all similar. (Yoon Junghoon did fantastic. not trying to glorify his terrible character btw)
the 3rd Hdd was the worst imo.(even though the actor did amazing with playing two possessed individuals alongside his own character) The writers just completely forgot who Hdd was. He went from being someone with OCD who only kills methodically to randomly offing anyone in his path. It didn't make any sense and the drama completely lost its continuity. Having him have some kind of emotional moment in the end was worthless. You can't feel sympathy for evil. Plus he wasn't trying to change at all. he used his past to garner sympathy and make his targets loose focus.

Hmmmm .....

Started off with a good plot but as each episode goes by, it seemed writer just lost interest and wanted drama to end.

But having so many K drama, i am intrigued and most captivated by the lead actor and actress love relationship.

At each engagement, you can't help but want to egg them on .... and see them progress.

I actually felt the pain and had a tear when he had to do what he most wanted NOT to.

Apart from this unique love relationship and the theme song (listen and understand the lyrics) show is let down.

This went from a fun drama to an absolutely frustrating piece of work!

I really need to vent here... I watched this with my dad and we really enjoyed the first few episodes. They were somewhat funny with enough suspense that actually hooked me in. Possessed isn't my type of drama but I kept watching it anyway because of these first few episodes. The 2.0 rating for the story is actually for these episodes as I enjoyed these quite a bit. Granted, it was a bit slow but still enough to hook me in.

Like so many of the reviews here say, it got much much worse. The villain gradually got more and more OP after killing more and more people and became more and more unlikable. I will commend the actors who portrayed this villain very well and I imagine there must have been a lot of cooperation for so many to portray the same character. Around Ep 12-13, the story got more depressing. Kang Pil-Seong and Hong Seo-Jeong both became depressed and were on the verge of giving up. It was around this point when the writers clearly gave up on writing a decent story and just decided to kill everyone starting with the side characters. To make us 'feel the loss' more clearly, they gave them backstories and fleshed them out a bit more. I admit I didn't particularly cry when they died but it was more because of the ridiculousness of it all. For instance, when Hwang Dae-Du kidnapped Yu Seung-hui and Choe Yeon-hui and told their father and boyfriend to kill each other to save their loved one, it was painfully obvious he wasn't going to keep his promise, so why did they even bother trying to kill one another?

The main thing that annoyed me about these last few episodes was the writers still tried to add in comedy. They would put it in at the most suspenseful places but it would feel so out of place that it wasn't even funny and just made the drama seem like it was trying too hard.

The ending was even more ridiculous. After killing off most of the main cast, Kang Pil-Seong takes Hwang Dae-Du out to sea and kills him. HDD possesses KPS's body but KPS somehow managed to retain some control and drowns himself so that HDD's spirit is now surrounded by salt, which apparently makes his spirit dissipate since spirits and salt 'have antipathy'. If it was so simple, then WHY did they not just do that from the start? The whole thing was just so pointless and stupid.

I will admit though, the music was pretty good. Not really the thing I would chill to after a long day but pretty catchy. Probably songs to add to my Spotify once I find them.

As expected, I will not be watching this again. I don't think I could handle the stress of rewatching HDD kill off pretty much all the cast.

It is sad but was engaging

The story revolves around both the main leads to drive evil away, and methods they have taken to do so. The acting was good, the cast was good, but the story was for me very sad. There no romance as i was hoping for, but what was going on with them was understandable; due the character rigid behaviour.
If you want to see the good guys chase evil to their last breath and lots of actions and plot twists. Yet, having sad ending from support leads all the way to main leads with no romance to get justice, world peace and engaging to know what happen next. This the one is for you.

One of the most enjoyable first half of a K-drama that I've watched in recent times. I really like the premise that was built up and how the bad guy was being built up as well. By the 6th-7th episode, I started to worry about whether the pacing would be poor and unfortunately it does. Possessed suffers from the same problem as it does a majority of other K-Dramas out there. It really feels like these studios that pump out K-Dramas bring out a script and secure a fixed number of episodes first and then try to throw as much filler in there. It's exactly why I always feel like the first half of the drama is around an 8/10 then falls off to almost like a 3/10 drama by the end of it.

The characters kept me interested, but I was starting to get worn out even before some of the big events happened. Even the dynamic between the two main characters started to wear me out and the big showdown? I couldn't care less. I don't even know what to say about the ending. I felt somewhat invested in the two main characters and I feel like the show was trying to instill hopelessness and dread into the viewer which they definitely did, but my hopelessness and dread wasn't towards the character's situation, it was about the show itself. The entire second half the main characters were basically debbie downers that I felt like couldn't think of any alternate solutions and went through depression after episode 8. Was I supposed to feel some sort of respite and feel for the characters when they went to the island? I'm so bummed that this show went to extremely interesting to just straight garbage. I hate this formulaic bullshit that k-dramas always do.

An ambitious show with mediocre execution..

I was so bored with the phasing of the story, too slow phased for a thriller/mystery/suspense paranormal drama. Thus making it so boring..

Still managed to watch until episode 8 though I considered this show not for me. An ambitious show with a mediocre execution.

I didn't see much connection/chemistry between the ML and FL. They started on a minor misunderstanding and they communicated through back and forth bickering. Then suddenly they fell in love in the middle of the story.

This story is basically more about sacrifices, more than possession and the paranormal.

Disappointing

I never really review on a k drama but this was utterly disappointing on all the k dramas I’ve watched I even feel annoyed remembering what happened to everything in the plot. It’s like traumatizing. Don’t even watch I don’t like the writer he/she just killed everyone. Ugh. I hate it.

I just have to finished and skipping everything. Hoping there we’ll be hope in this drama but there isn’t its started out good but I was so annoyed and hateful on this drama

The leads have great chemistry, there's some really interesting imagery, and several of the actors do well with dual roles. The idea of a body-jumping serial killer is also a solid idea for a series. And that subplot that turns the poor-girl-meets-rich-guy story into something more sinister is flat-out brilliant.

Unfortunately the writers take this whole promising mix and sacrifice it on the altar of edginess.

I'm not saying this as someone with no tolerance for darkness in movies or tv; I often enjoy dark themes, gory effects, and tragic twists. I actually spend more time watching horror movies than I do dramas, so something with Possessed's genre mix should be right up my alley.

The problem here isn't the mash-up of love story and tragic thriller. It's that the series establishes one tone for its first three quarters and then devolves into a pointless, mean-spirited mess. Once you realize how far the show's willing to go, there's very little suspense. Knowing that nearly every situation will end in the worst possible way turns the final quarter of the series into a slog fest. There's plenty to be said for raising the stakes, but that's not what this show does. Instead it takes its stakes and just chucks 'em, flinging those poor stakes hard enough to distance the viewer from nearly everything in the show worth caring about. With that kind of random momentum, it's no wonder the last episode lands with a thud.

"Saving the world" is not a concrete enough goal to carry me through that final showdown. Good stories are about more specific things like characters and relationships. Watching Detective Kang struggle through to save a few comrades or his love interest would have been riveting even if things didn't turn out how I wanted. But having him just trudge on (because that's what a hero does!) turned a great show into my biggest drama series disappointment yet.

At first, I thought that it will be a nice series but it was not at all. This scenario was the worst. Seriously did the writer get pleasure since he/she write this scenario? Quite disappointment, don't watch it.

Actors and actresses were nice but what could they do with this bad story? Lol.

Seiously what did I watch? ???? ???? All people killed by the ghost around. Even there was no happy ending. I cannot find any words to express how it was bad.

For a second if you thought of watching this, please change your decision.

Have a nice day to y'all.
