I was annoyed at Xiao Chun Hua at some point.. SGQY is the MVP~!!
This drama has a clear plan layed out well but I find it irritating at some point. However, I can't discredit it for such petty reasons since I still enjoy it as a whole.The first few episodes made me bored but it was able to pick up it's own pace. Anyways, I think it's also because of my mood that time so I never really treated it as a boring drama at all.
Moving on lemme just pin-point/highlight some things I was particular with this story...
× Love-Hate feelings for the FL for being so idealistic and righteous.
× Shangguan QiuYue's Unconditional, Selfless and genuine love for Chunhua made me go soft all of the time. He got some weird yet straightforward way of showing his affection that made the story extra lovely and fun to watch.
× Xiao Bai exudes so much Papa's boy Vibe for me. His idea always abides to his father/clans teachings and it made me feel sour of his character.
× Leng Ying killing Feng Cai Cai's father could be a great drama twist that I anticipated for it so much but turned out to be a great missed. They really try hard to preserved its light-hearted mood to such extent where plot holes arises.
Anyways, Still a Good drama to watch. I finished it longer than usual because of my crazy schedule but it's still worths it.
Story - 9.0, They tried so hard to keep it light-hearted that it misses some great drama plot opportunities and that leads to some questions and flaws rising one by one. I was never particular of such scenes but I felt disappointed that they didn't fully utilize it considering it has long 40 episodes.
Acting/Cast - 9.5, Acting are really good and convincing same with how the cast executed their characters. It's just I have some distastes towards some characters. Which is something personal.
Music - 10 Great choice of Music. I specifically love the Fun Narration with the opening theme and the insert songs were also good.
Rewatch Value - 9.0, Still deserving of such high score cause It simply showcases a lot of good points as well. I can never mistreat/misjudge a drama just because I hate some pieces of it.
Overall - 9.5, I honestly wanted to give it a 9.0 rating but Shangguan Qiu Yue saved this whole production for me. He's the MVP of this drama as a whole. A male lead who's reasonable, tactical and loving.

Could have been great
hated the last few episodes hence the low rating. How tf does a character who talks so much and always has something to say become mute and can’t speak to clarify situations. To say I was pissed off at how Lusi’s character changed in the last few episodes is such an understatement. This chemistry and connection between Chu hua and Shanggan qui que was intense and hot so that’s why I’m left bewildered and baffled at their kiss scenes, it’s was so underwhelming, their lips didn’t even move, I guess I can blame that on the director. Another reason for my low rating. All in all really enjoyed the beginning and hated the ending.Was this review helpful to you?

Shangguan Qiu Yue (Played Li Hong Yi) is the leader of the Demonic Sect. He is cold, ruthless, and full of scheming (the bad boy type), but he is also a lonely person with a soft spot for the woman he love and a bit clingy for me (which I like).?
Chun Hua (Played by Zhao Lusi) is a cheerful active immortal girl from the far future who chooses to experience and feel true love than being immortal.
This drama is about a woman who lives in the far future travels to the martial world to experience true love using the Tianei Program. After waking up in a completely different world and having been told that her true love will be the first person she sees when she first opens her eyes in this new world, Chun Hua believes that Xiao Bai is her destiny. She also falls into a complicated romance with two vastly different guys. Shangguan Qiu Yue from the Demonic Sect and Xiao Bai from the Feng Ming Manor who claims to uphold the righteous side. (They are sworn enemies)
Chun Hua believing than Xiao Bai is her true love always try to be him to fulfill her dreams. She always tries to have a “couple thingy/couple scenes” with him. On the other hand, there is Shangguan Qiu Yue who initially used her to get something from Feng Ming Manor, lied to her proclaiming that he is her brother and slowly falling in love with her.
Shangguan Qiu Yue did everything for Chun Hua. From always being with her and protecting her to saving her life which Xiao Bai couldn’t do. Shangguan Qiu Yue is the bad boy type and has done a lot of evil deeds so Chun Hua is having a hard time believing and trusting him but when she starts falling for him, she can’t leave him anymore.
Overall, this time travel drama is good despite having a low budget. You can see from the make-up and all. The storyline is not that great, but the romance scenes are the best. There are lots of kissing and flirting scenes. Li Hong Yi and Zhao Lusi chemistry is good too. Honestly, I watched this because of Zhao Lusi but Li Hong Yi stole the show here and I am not even complaining. Hahaha!!!
Shangguan Qiu Yue is so beautiful and captivating. For me, it is a happy ending since they are together till the end.
P.S – I really love guys with white hair. Try to watch they’re behind the scenes it’s all cute and funny. Hahaha.

A nice wuxia drama without the usual tragical ending
With long dramas, I usually get bored and skip a few episodes, but with this one, it wasn't the case.
Even though the storyline isn't that amusing, it somehow kept me intrigued and didn't make me want to skip some parts of episodes.
Story:
Is a pretty simple multiverse (?) travel drama, with an antihero as ML.
I would've liked it better if they somehow intertwined her original timeline with the one she was in.
They didn't explain much about the machine or the "time travel" thing or her time and I was expecting more about it. The only premise we have is the one that is in the synopsis, which they reveal in the first episode, nothing more. But I guess is because they just wanted to focus on her journey to learning what true love is. It's interesting how her character develops from her idealization of "love" and "the one" to reality and why it's better than immortality. Like this, they just made justice to the title of the drama. It actually makes sense and is a bit profound.
Acting:
The acting was amazing. I must agree with most of the people here that Qiuyue stole the show. I knew about him through this show and I must say he is so freaking talented. Plus breathtakingly handsome, which made me want to keep watching him. Hahah!
About Lusi, this was also the first drama I watched of her and I loved her. Can't wait to see more of her dramas.
Ending:
It was a happy-okay ending. It could've been better, but according to the story, it was okay. It's not like those ones where you feel you wasted your time watching the drama.
Overall:
If you want to enjoy the world of wuxia without the tragic ending, this is your cup of tea.
Somehow light hearted romance with your typical antihero that wouldn't help but loving.
But if you're here because of the "time travel" thing, welp, go look for another one cause this is ain't it.

The music was Ok not memorable although there were times when the music reminded me of another shows OST so that confused me, I haven't felt the need to download or listen to the OST
The story was typical Chinese romance with some cultivation. Nothing really interesting or new. So good if you like that sort of show with silly female deciding between 2 male leads and always needing to be saved. I will say that is not my favorite thing and I really cannot stand the silly female leads and I feel like she was silly and annoying like 90% of the show.
Acting well lets say there was one really good actor and the rest were just OK. the Li Hing Yi portrayal of Shangguan Qiu Yue was outstanding and why I gave the acting higher marks. Rosy Zhao played Chun Hua the same as her other acting parts so nothing new just a stupid overly sweet girl.
What I liked and didn't like, since there was not a lot of really good things about the drama was the character of Shangguan Qiu Yue. He was not perfect and not bad or good just really trying to live in a world of hypocrites. He was fascinating to watch. I personally did not feel the chemistry between him and the FL lead, but others did. I really liked Fu Lou and You Si. In fact they were my favorite couple and the only time the show even made me a little sad. I would have rather they be the main story! I also liked 2 of the people hanging with the second male lead, Qin Liu Feng was fun and made the boring and too long scenes the them at least something to watch. I also really liked Feng Cai Cai, she showed the most growth and depth of any of the characters other than the male lead. I really did not understand why the character of Leng Ning was there or her purpose other than Qin Liu Feng had a crush on her and she dressed like a man carrying a sword, but then never did ANYTHING the entire time, plus there was nothing to like about her. As for Xiao Bai the second male lead. He didn't bother me as much as other people. He played the typical stoic hero who cannot show his feelings, but I thought the actor was fine since that is the character. I've seen much worse with the stoic person being portrayed.
Which brings me to female lead Chun Hua who was basically silly borderline stupid the entire time. I would rather Shangguan Qiu Yue end up with Xiao Bai! I find it interesting that even strong females are portrayed as needing to be saved by a man (Love and Redemption, Miss Truth) or just plan silly and annoying (Ashes of Love, Flames Daughter, etc, etc,) Plus every "romance" has silly misunderstandings and switching back and forth, Just one of the things that annoy me. I like shows almost based on the least annoying female character.
Rewatch not for me but if you do not mind the type of female character and the typical triangle then this is the drama for you. If you are looking for a strong and intelligent female lead and an interesting story, then skip this and watch something else.

Read synopsis of drama before starting watching drama because starting of drama didn't synchronized well , full story revolve around longevity and searching of killer who killed medical sage which I found little boring but the love story between Qui ye and little china well portrait which balanced the whole drama ,first time I didn't felt bad to see love triangle because third character didn't bring the emotions as well as expression well. In whole drama I love watching Que ye (male lead character) his expression ,when he smile ,his eyes even says a lot ,so much stability in his expression that all the time connect me so well with the character though he did bad a lot in his past that's why little chua is upset and that part is justified but when he fall in love he listen everything what she told to him ,he respect the love and his commitment towards her ....He totally devoted towards his love for her ... He did amazing acting ,superb ..Rest I like Qin Liu Feng acting also though he is in supporting role but he did great acting. Rest I want to see their marriage too and having two children which they always spoke about..But one thing I didn't get it that when she got her true love then why she not come back to her world. Li Hongyi stole the show with his visuals and everything else was trash lol
I only watched this for Zhao Lusi and Li Hongyi and for me this was a disappointment.Zhao Lusi's character was very very flat. She didn't add anything to the series/story other than being the victim and the main problem. Tbh I don't think she had any major character growth at all. Which is disappointing but this is one of the earlier series for Zhao Lusi's career. I also hated how much her character went back and forth between them.
Li Hongyi was pretty great in his role and wow I was blown away by his beauty.
I still don't know how I feel about Xiao Bai tbh; like he was such a shitty character but I guess the writers were trying to go with that for the greater good or for you love kind of conflict.
And all the other characters were quite unsignificant and boring tbh.
Sadly, a disappointment.

One of the best dramas
This is my absolute favorite drama along with love and redemption! I’m not a big fan of Chun Huas personality but Shanggun Qiuyue is amazing. He’s also beautiful. I’ve rewatched it repeatedly. I highly recommend this drama but I don’t really consider it a comedy or light hearted. It does have a lot of second hand embarrassment from Chun Hua though. She’s really mean to Shanggun Qiuyue and hurts him constantly. She’s mean all the way to the last episode. I didn’t like the actress because of Chun Hua (silly I know) and didn’t want to watch any of her other dramas but I watched the long ballad and changed my mind.Was this review helpful to you?
