'Wait, My Youth' has a similar setting and character dynamic to 'Just an Encore'. The FL dreams of being the girlfriend of one of her classmates, a friend who is smart and kind in addition to being a talented pianist. Meanwhile, the guy's best friend is in the same class as the two of them. He gives off a vibe that's the direct opposite: sullen and rebellious. He and the FL start off by disliking each other and make no attempts to hide it. Soon, however, they become deskmates, and while the FL remains fixated on the boy she likes, the other boy realizes his feelings for the FL are changing in a way he never expected.

The series tells the story of how the FL and this "bad boy" (who turns out to be not so bad -- in fact he's an incredibly sweet and supportive boyfriend) eventually fall in love, and it follows them through high school, college, and young adulthood. The way all of the characters transition is done so convincingly that you barely notice as it's happening.

Cap everything off with a happy ending, and you have what is one of my all-time favorite series.

In both dramas, the FLs have crushes on the valedictorians. Later the girls fall in love with the MLs who are infamous for being mischievous but with good hearts, and they have had bad starts with.

Both dramas are situated in the late 90s/early 00s and they both give the same vibes. If you like one of these dramas, you won't regret watching the other :)

This show is somewhat similar to Just an Encore as both juggling with long distance relationships (?)
But one thing for sure both conveyed the youth well and managed to provide a meaningful message to the youths. The both dramas are similar as both dramas are about the friendships of the group of friends, love triangle and FL liking the 2nd male lead when the ML is chasing the FL. ML is always there for FL and 2nd male lead realized his love for FL but it's too late.

Both are youth dramas
Both have smart ML and not studious but lovable FL
Both have ML and SML that are a good match with the FL
Both have leads with insecurities that blinds them about their own good traits (ML is insecure because of his artificial leg and no good father in FIT while female thinks she's ugly in JEA)

In both dramas the premise is the same- what happens in the life of group of school going friends. It gives the same vibe.

Both of the shows are high school romances. Light-hearted and cute. I liked Accidently in Love better though.

Both talk about youth, school, kindness, friendship. Both also talk about a girl not so great in studies, sitting next to a super smart boy who is a top student in the class. Both girls have a crush on the boys sitting next to them.

Both male leads are smart, on the other hand, female leads are just average. Male leads are always there for the female lead. What happened in a particular timeline in With You also kind of happened here (I don’t to give details so that I cannot spoil)

The heroines in both series are similar in their cheerful personalities. Both are not bright, they are struggling to better themselves, and they want to impress their crush. The main male leads are enamored by schoolmates and by their teachers for being the top students academically, However, they appear aloof because of their introverted personality.

I think these are really the same vibes:
1. hate to love relationship
2. ML who cares
3. ML likes basketball
4. ML has many fans
5. FL plain girl
6. FL stupid girl
7. FL cheerful girl

Let's watch this!!!

Just an Encore is more slice of life and Hana Yori Dango is a little more "unreal" because students are too much rich lol.
But both are great in their own way and female lead doesn't prefer the most perfect, quiet , serious and sweet guy, but the one with whom she quarrels more!
At first they don't get along very well, but as time goes by, the guy conquers her heart little by little.

The love stories and the characterization of the female leads on both dramas are similar.

Girls' Generation 1979 is about school, youth, slice of life, and romance.
