What in the World?!

This drama started off really well! It was light and fun and I really liked the FL and ML. I loved FL's confidence, independence, natural beauty, and even her quirky style because she wore it well and it set her apart. The middle got a little long but I think that's to be expected sometimes when the FL and ML get together too early and the chemistry isn't that strong. The problems they faced were resolved fairly quickly and there wasn't anything too dramatic or over the top.

Then comes Episode 20....the one everyone was commenting about. What in the world? If the entire drama was filled with melodrama, angst, and conflict that would be one thing. But to suddenly switch from a pretty happy go lucky drama to the last 5 episodes... was pretty ridiculous. Suddenly you have crying fits, self repentance, bloody tears, anger and devastation, and the perplexing scene at the airport (wasn't she just on life support...how is she now sitting in a wheelchair (albeit still in a coma)? It was a mess and I think that's pretty much the word to sum up the last few episodes.

"Walk into your memory" is a drama about a girl named An Ning who is a chef and meets her Boss Long HaoQian through an unfortunate event of spilling soup before it was needed to be served. An Ning and Long HaoQian had in fact met before, but both had no memory of this meeting, until fate did its job. Behind Long Haoqian and An Ning was a series of hidden secrets that no one knew, and because An Ning had special eyes that could see into people's memories, she found out the about the secrets that no one else knew, not even Long Haoqian.

In my opinion, this drama was really sweet and great all the way up around Episode 20ish, from there, everything started going downhill. I really dislike the way that dramas go and "plot out": it starts of really sweet, but then something gets in the way and the heartbreak is so massive that you didn't even prepare for it. Towards the ending, we as an audience learn that An Ning is stuck in Long Haoqian's memory world, but she can't get out of it. She understands the truth of what has been bothering her for so long: her sister An Yi's death. An Ning watches in Long Haoqian's perspective as she goes into vegetable state in the hospital for weeks, until one day, her courage overcomes her and she goes back to the real world.
\
The ending happened way too fast: An Ning woke up, Long Haoqian and her visit the graves of her father and sister, and they exchanged their promises of love for each other, then the screen gradually blacks out. As part of the audience, I would definitely be really interested in seeing her and her best friend's wedding together, as well as their future children. It was really unfortunate that the director/script writers didn't consider adding that in.

Overall, I recommend that you watch this drama as the acting is the best it can get, while the music and soundtracks didn't really interest me that much everything else was alright, and the overall plot of the movie was somewhat okay too.

Not The Typical Romance Drama

Let me start off by saying that this is the best drama I have watched in a while. All of the things I hate in Chinese romance dramas this drama did not have. As for the positive points, this story is perfectly paced. The relationship between the ML and FL was established quite early (by episode 6/7) and wasn't unnecessarily drawn out. Most dramas only let the ML and FL get together halfway in the drama or towards the end but this drama did not.

Typically I skip the love triangle scenes in dramas as it's usually drawn out over multiple episodes or until the end and usually takes away from the story rather than add. In this the ML and FL both had pursuers but these storylines were short and only lasted 1-2 episodes and the side characters didn't use any nasty tricks or harass the leads. They also gave up quickly once they realized the couple cared for each other and didn't stick around stalking them.

Next, there is the actual plot/storyline and overall writing which I found to be original. First of all, there were quite a few moments that actually made me laugh and jokes that didn't feel cringy. The overall tone was comedic but not cheesy or flamboyant. While the amnesia plot is a bit overused when it comes to drama plots, and is one of the plots I run away from when picking a drama, this drama did it in a tasteful manner only bringing it up every few episodes while not solely fixating on this plot. While the big twist may be predictable to some I don't think its predictability is blatantly obvious.

There are other points but as I don't want to make this review longer I'll stop here. If you want to watch a drama that slightly defies romance drama rules then this is for you.

Uncessary melodrama and fillers

Initially, this drama had such high potential but it all went to waste. I do get the fact that they wanted to attempt something different but it backfired. To me, the story seemed to be a typical and predictable chinese drama with overbearing CEO at the beginning with amnesia as usual but even after that, I wanted to have a try at it maybe cause I wanted a taste of that amazing chemistry and romance between the characters but I was disappointed so badly. The male leads not only lacked chemistry but the plot was also not well designed and to make things worse, there were more scenes about supporting role rather than the male role. The beginning starts with the main leads fighting as typical of a Love-Hate relationship but something seemed off during the process and I could not connect at all with the characters. I personally did not enjoy the character development and not to mention the romance. To me, the whole story was too cheesy and I did not get any emotion from this. It was more like completing a task for me. This drama mostly focuses on the melodrama in between the families and don't get me started on the mystery. The ending was too rushed and I believe that some very important was missing from the romance part as well.

This drama was certainly not terrible just that was the series of events were too predictable and did not manage to excite me. The filler parts ruined the whole pace of the plot and the intense melodrama and unnecessary humour here and there further ruined it for me. I would definitely not rewatch it again but I don't regret watching it

Welp... unfortunately this drama also fell victim to terrible plot development. It's the typical C-drama where it starts out really interesting with lots of potential but then the screenwriters try too hard (or not hard enough??) and ruin the plot around ep 18-19 when the truth unfolds. Everything becomes too predictable even though they lowkey set it up to be that way from the start, the cliches are pointless and unnecessary for carrying on the story, etc. I also agree with the other reviewer that there were too many flashbacks and it's always the same or similar scenes, just with a tad bit more detail... For example, the first flashback might be you eating an apple in class, then the next time you see this flashback, it'll start from the top with you eating an apple in class but then show you getting up and throwing the apple core away in the trash, etc. Also, the last bit of the story was particularly ridiculous and made no sense smh.

It's not that the drama was terrible, just that the way the series of events unfolded could have been written way better and more realistically. I can understand the misunderstandings placed along the way because of how long it took to find his old memories (relatively realistic pace I guess?), but the way the characters handled it was just hard to watch. If you're interested in this plot, just don't hold high expectations. It was overall an enjoyable watch and I *was* pretty addicted until the last 5 ish episodes.

[review was based on seeing 8 episodes so far. I've dropped the drama after 14 episodes.]

I started this drama because of wang zhuo cheng (who plays Yi Ming Jun) and although he wasn't the main lead, I was able to get into the drama and the main leads because of their personalities and bickering/bantering. Most of the humor (especially from the main leads) carry this drama.

CHARACTERS:
The two main leads--An Ning & Long Hao Tian (as spelled from the Youtube subtitles)--are your typical romcom types: the sweet, kind, & strong girl with the rich CEO boy. What I liked about An Ning is that she stands up for herself. I think the actress herself pulls off this character well. Also, her backstory is strong and makes her character really feel real.

Long Hao Tian, in the first couple episodes, seemed like the arrogant, cold type, but because of his predicament, he needed An Ning's help, so he isn't outright rude and mean to her. He'll make some remarks here and there, but it isn't like a lot of other dramas out there where he is straight up mean. So, I like that he isn't overbearing. He's basically like an awkward rich boy who's trying to please his father.

Yi Ming Jun, who I came to watch for, is a strange character. The trailer characterized him as a "playboy" but he doesn't quite fit this type. He loves girls and would want to be with them or get with one of them, but when he becomes interested in the second main girl lead--Xia Tian--he only focuses on her. He doesn't try to play around with other girls? So I'm confused why he's labeled as a playboy. He also quickly can become genuine/sincere...so I can't quite grasp his character yet.

Xia Tian - she is the character with the least screentime (compared to the above 3), so her troubled past is ushered in really quickly and we rarely see her by herself and understand her more thoroughly. It's disappointing because her character has a lot of potential, but we don't see much of her. It feels like they slapped some heroine traits on her and then didn't let her have much of a personality...

RELATIONSHIPS:
An Ning & Long Hao Tian: as I said, I will keep watching this drama for these two. Their bickering is funny because they're both kind of stubborn, both kind of idiotic, so it's fun to watch two dummies bicker and then be nice to each other. I laughed out loud to many of their shenanigans.

Long Hao Tian & Yi Ming Jun: they're best friends so we see some scenes of them together, but not much. Their relationship is adorable and we'll see where it goes.

An Ning & Xia Tian: best friends, but we rarely see them together just girls hanging out and girls helping each other. It felt like while Xia Tian was going through hard times, An Ning was barely there...

MUSIC:

It's okay. It's bubbly, it's cute, so far.

CRITICAL REVIEW:
There's a third couple that I tried to care for, but I didn't. I like the potential of where it's going, but currently, I don't care much for it. My biggest critical review for this drama is that for how short it is, 24 episodes, they probably should've just focused on the two main couples and developed them more rather than forced in this third couple.
Currently, this drama feels like they slapped on some romcom tropes and ideas and then the main leads' chemistry are holding this drama together. Some things needed to be slowed down and shown more (like my girl Xia Tian), but alas, we have this drama that is trying it's hardest to be quirky but deep, funny but also asking serious questions. The balance is precarious right now.

the plot is old as most of -if not all of cdrama , yet the main woman lead is stronger and natural , she is not so young, not so small proportion, also her face not so small, she is smart in her way, it's a wind of change that happening in cdrama land, the more they copy kdrama the more they look a like, it's been couple of years now they going in that direction, the beginning of kdrama rising= as dumb , innocence but quality production with a good fashion taste want to justify its existence by target more and more younger audience,

After 5 episode overall it's very cute and worth watching
