It's a dream of great friendship

This is my first time to review
,this drama did not get its right to be famous because of the delay in translation, although it deserves to be one of the best dramas in 2021, and for me it is the best so far.
the cast ,the story ,the music all are wonderful
the chemistry between two Male leads is so great it's pure friendship more like brothers take care of each others
Now the English subtitle been released
But because I couldn't wait and i couldn't stop watching, I continued to Episode 30 without subtitles😌😁
so I strongly recommend this great drama💞

Legendary Underrated Drama Ever

At first I don't have a big plan to watch this drama due to many BL series that airing at the moment. I've added this on my list before and about 2 days ago I got the urge to watch this and here I am FALLING HARD TO THIS DRAMA. OMG this drama is very interesting and almost perfect. The casts acting skill is very outstanding and the plot is great. Their visual are perfect. Also they choosed republican era with many old stuffs and I want to appreciate the production team effort to make sure everything suits the theme. The friendship and the bromance looks very heartwarming. I love how Yuzhi always try his best to approach Yuelou softly. Their interaction is very subtle... to subtle til the point I feel like I'll melt with the warm feeling around them. Yelou is very clear that Yuzhi is his someone special, and Yuzhi seems knew it already but act lowkey. I love it and I'll definitely rewatch this drama. Only one episode it'll make you attached. this get the bromance, the action, the mistery, the crime, the drama and angst. this got everything.

This series should have an alternative title: "Let's kill all the Main Characters!"

Chief Jiang lost everything in this fight. His mother, Commissioner Bai who's his father figure, best buddy Zhan Jun Bai, best female friend Chu Ran, and finally his almost-boyfriend Dr. Chen. Sigh. Justice really comes with a heavy price tag. Thank you for the beautiful series. Looking forward to purchasing the hopefully uncensored 📀 and photobook when it gets released. This is a series worth keeping. Nicely done!

Ending:
I didn't expect Jin Da Cheng to be so badass he literally killed 1 out of 2 most dangerous antagonists in the series by himself. Admit it or not, but Jing Da Cheng is so cool..... Even though he is hot-tempered but he still chooses to protect the people.
Chen Yuzhi dies not knowing that his mini-clinic is given by Chief Jiang. Sad.
Dr. Chen's last word before he dies: "I'm tired.... I'm want to sleep... It's snow again". 😭😭😭

Friend: “did you watch killer and healer?”
Me: “you mean the tragic life of Jiang Yuelou? Yea I watched it”

Prepare your tissues

This drama is honestly a really good drama. I've heard many people say that the acting and the storyline of the drama sucks but in my opinion, if any drama can make me stay up late at night and ignore the fact that I still have school the next morning, it's good.

Story: The storyline for this revolves around opium....i guess it's a classic for republican dramas now since I've seen this in most of the republican dramas I've watched. If you liked/enjoyed, Forever Forward starring Huang Zi Tao and Jackson Yee, I'd recommend this drama to you. If you do end up watching this drama, you'll see why I recommended it if you seen FF.

For those of you who are going to watch, please have a box of tissues next to you. THIS IS A SAD DRAMA! You have been warned!

Acting: Call this bromance or BL however you like but there's no annoying female getting the way. Are there some who try to get attention? Yes. Is it bearable? Yes. In my opinion, the females in the drama aren't too unbearable like others. The two leads have really good chemistry together. You can see it in their expressions.

Music/Audio: I'm combining these together because they're essentially the same thing or can be classified in the same category. The music is really good, especially at the heartbreaking scenes and it literally put me on the verge of tears. You can watch this series on Youtuber under "MGTV". The episodes are subbed but the only drawback to that is some parts of the audio are cut meaning that there is sometimes no sound. During the cut parts, there are subtitles however. If you prefer sub and audio to sync with each other, it's better to watch on the MGTV app.

Watch/Rewatch Value: The reason why I decided to "drop" this show after episode 25 is because I already know the ending. In many cases where I'm halfway through and someone spoils the ending for me, I tend to drop the drama. But the good thing is that you can choose your ending. I would have given this a higher score but since this drama drained me and played with my emotions, I don't think I want to go on a rollercoaster a second time. It's really good tho!! (I got hooked by just the title and poster)

A hidden gem : Totally underrated

Well, This is based on only upto ep17. This drama is still airing as of today 19 Mar 2020 and the slowwwww subbing made it really hard to watch it. But I have to say it is worth the wait & far more better than my initial expectations.

The main thing that is holding this drama up is the chemistry between the main leads. The two main actors have outstanding acting skills along with equally great looks and have really made their respective characters thrive on screen. When they are on screen , you cannot take your eyes off even for a second because firstly, it is really pleasant to watch them ; and secondly, they talk to each other with their eyes and many other subtle gestures in many scenes, which cannot be missed if one has to understand the drama better!

The story is nothing extraordinary but not too cliché either. It doesn't get boring and if I had the whole drama with english subtitles, I am sure I wouldn't put it down till the end.

There are another pair of male friends who for some reason do not interest me much as a pair, but individually their characters have depths and backstories to be unfolded which keeps it engaging to watch them too. Other supporting characters include two females, who doesn't feel unnecessary to the story and have their own contributions in getting the show going.

The drama has very well timed and much needed humour also which actually made me laugh.

Overall, I am enjoying this very much and I will binge-rewatch it after it finishes airing and the subbing is complete.

Rollercoaster of feelings.

Killer and Healer, is the first c-drama that made me had a mixed feelings into one bowl. Sometimes I just want to smile 'till midnight and sometimes I just want to bawl my eyes out. This feeling make me so stuffy even it's broad daylight tears still flowing. How can I get over this? I asked myself. yet I'm seeking the same thing over and over again.

That one scene even it's cliché it does break the heart. I am yet writing this my chest feel heavy.

I thought the night have the sun but I'm imagining beyond the one's wildest dream.

overall, the story was a bit too predictable and easy to guess but was not the end. The casting, they full of talented actor! I'm really impressed of the main lead chemistry and the charismatic. the friendship between JYL and CYZ is so admirable and compassionate.

The music once and forever make me cried as I play it on and on . the most memorable pieces for me is "understand" by Yu Xi.

"the thought of you,
and the tear will fall.
The time of a lifetime,
have to be separated from you."

that line, are the most memorable lyric and its also keep reminding me of that one last scene. it does really pierced through the heart.

"time flies into a sigh" it's true what Jiang YuXin said in "sigh" lyric. I can't believe it's already the end of the episode of Killer and Healer. In the end, i'm really, really glad that i watched this.

*:) im happy and also sad. i don't know when can i heal this feelings :(*

Don't sleep on this drama

Excellent !
Actors : Actors are doing great job. The emotion of cast is well performed. I think they're going to be more popular in the future after this.
Plot story : The best , though many said ending is not as expected but i like it much (my kind of fav ending xoxo).
Production Set : not many take attention to production set, I found they hired many extras, it's a good thing too.
Costumes : i wonder why Dr Chen's always fashionable even at home, but i still love how he looks.
Music : the only thing that lack on this drama. The only good one is comic relief music Jin Dacheng appearance.
This drama need more appreciation.

Underrated Masterpiece

I wasn't even going to watch this because 37 episodes of just "bromance" and "censorship" didn't sit right in my head...But Oh Boy! oh was i wrong and about to miss out on a masterpiece.
Just the aesthetic of the outfits, set, décorations, houses...and tools used to present that era of time...Goddaaaamn
I can spend a whole hour talking about how well done and accurate the representation was, each outfit and location would spun me.
(Spoilers ahead)

As for the story, it starts out very strong, the first episode took me so long to follow up with events because too much happening at once, almost all main characters are being introduced and the first piece of the puzzle is being laid down...fast forward few episodes, you start to appreciate the dynamic between the two leads, understanding their goals and loving their cooperations and that lasts throughout the whole series.
It's more than a bromance, you can sens the soul mate vibes between them, each one is the other's lifeline.
The story is amazing, the plot line is something new and never seen before.
Also It is not a very happy, cheery and joyful type of series so do not expect to be laughing all time but the few funny moments there is, they're impeccable.
I hated the ending, not gonna lie, i was heartbroken more than once over the loss of so many great characters but i was ok with it...but the ending just F***ed me up man.
I know there's an alternative ending, so i very much encouage everyone to check it out.
I highly recomand this series, totally worth the emotions and time.

ITS BEEN A YEAR AND IM STILL NOT OK

So this absolutely broke me. I didn't think this drama would be so deep and would end the way it did but it did. Ok so regardless of my feelings this drama is a 10 out of 10 in every way. The bromance between yu zhi and yue lou was just heart warming and reminded me of the untamed and word of honor (but then again those dramas broke me two so I should have seen it coming). All I wanna say is that my man yu zhi didn't deserve all that trauma, I really can't see anything good he got out of this drama, it was basically just death after death! His parents died then all his friends died his possible, but not possible pretty love interest died and than his best friend if not BOYFRIEND DIED like what the hell!! All my man wanted to do was live a Happy life with the people he loved( or at least that's how I saw it). Now for me I was finishing up this drama.at night not getting the clue that something bad was going to happen when the sad background music started to play. And I was a mess the fact that he kept shaking him to wake up while the sad music and flash back was playin like at that point that was his only friend, family (boyfriend) they didn't have to do him like that. All I can say is don't watch at night unless you wanna be crying all night while looking yourself in the mirror telling yourself it's ok it's only a drama.

Watch, Read the novel and Listen to the audio drama.

This drama has me locked up. Yes "locked up" because until now I could not escape its prison cells. It is a brilliant series!

First, I willl talk about the little flaws I've dete ted. Plot holes, there were some scenes with plotholes not a lot just some. But after reading the novel and the audio drama my questions to these missing plotlines have been answered. I definitely recommend to also read and listen to the audio drama.

Acting. The main actors and supporting actors all did an amazing job portraying their characters. Especially Mao Zijun-Ge, the way he portrayed Jiang Yue Lou amazed me, his crying scenes made me feel the pain and sadness of the character. He is truly a hidden gem. And to Yi Bo Chen I also give two thumbs up, he portrayed Dr. Chen Yu Zhi brilliantly. The two had this chemistry that you can feel oozing out of the screen.

The COSTUMES!! OMG the costumes, I could not take my eyes away from their fashion, . Chu ran's outfits are a must!

The OSTs. 👌👌👌👌👍👏👏I cant find the right adjective to describe such masterpiece.
I would listen to all its OSTs everyday and still not get tired of it. Add the ost of the drama to that who was sung by Chen Yu Zhi's VA. It's a shame I could not find thr BG music they use whenever the two of them have a heart yo heart convo. I really love that bg music, it reminds me of those otome games bg music. So cute.

The color grading is magnificent!! I love how they did the camera angles and color grading, The color grading goes perfectly with the emotion going on in eache scene. I can't help but to admire the cinematography in every episode.

When Youtube recommended this to I wasnot expecting much. I just wanted to watch something while waiting for thr next ep of WoH but then I was drawn into it. It's been a roller coaster ride and still going because there is still the novel and audio drama.

READ AND LISTEN. It does not get boring because there's always something new to expect in the other adaptations.

Censored Romance will be the death of me :'D

Just finished watching this beautiful and (sadly) very underrated masterpiece! Mao Zi Jun and Ian Chen really brought the story and characters to life. The two did such an exceptional job, that even in the face of heavy censorship, we could sense the love and unbreakable bond between the characters Yuelou and Yuzhi. Now, I have an addiction with watching their behind-the-scenes and interviews because I miss their chemistry! I'm very happy that the talented MZJ is getting more recognition, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of Ian's touching acting :)
Personally, this is the first time I've watched them act as main leads, so I was thoroughly surprised! Without MZJ or Ian Chen, this show would not be the same.
The whole crew and cast was exceptional! Whether the villain role or supporting role, each character was complex and three-dimensional. They made up for the plot that was sometimes a little bland.
Each episode is around 35 mins long, so it was never too draggy and there is a nice balance between the action and cute/funny scenes.

Due to the story taking place in the turbulent times of Republican era, there were many tragedies (brb crying a river after the final ep)
Remember to have some tissues with you! But, it made this drama such a memorable and unique watch.
Because of this, I also grew to love all the simple, everyday moments between the leads. My favourite scenes definitely has to them eating tangyuan together at the corner shop. It's always the microexpressions, such as their gazes at each other...that really moved me! :') This drama is not just centered on two soulmates, but also explores the personal stories and interpersonal relationships formed in such a tumultuous era.

Also, the whole OST was ETHEREAL! My favourite is 明白 'Mingbai' by 宇西 (Yuxi). It really captures Yuelou and Yuzhi's profound relationship.
Everything about this drama tugs at your heartstrings. Instead of shoving things into our face, this drama makes you FEEL the emotions yourself.
So...what are you doing right now? Go and watch it! HAHA

Do I recommend it? YES! (TW: Gunshots, suicide, rape, violence)

This drama made me euphoric at first and then left me with severe sadness 🥺💁. (MGTV be like: bish, you thought 😏)

Thoughts:
I just love how this drama is made and I'm just sad because of its little to none promotion. It aired literally without any announcements, and unpredictable episodes release. As I'm watching KaH, I have to wait for at least 2 days for the subtitles to be released (which I used to do my assignments, chores (as if dako kaay ko'g tabang sa balay, lmao),and other school activities), lucky to those who are going to watch this magnificent series soon.
As for the plot, I would give it a 10. MGTV got the audacity to release spoilers, making its fans anticipate what's going to happen in the later episodes, but little did we know that there's MORE to what they released. (TF!) The way they tackled societal issues such as drug addiction, abuse of power, discrimination, and human trafficking is commendable as they succeeded in showing the effects it gives to society. The ending scene affected me the most. I really thought they're going to show us alternative ending but, guess what? NOTHING! Bromance can have two endings, 1st is to let the protagonist marry, or 2nd, KILL THE PROTAGONIST. Just guess which one happened in this drama. Anyway, I'm sad but I'm not disappointed.
For the characters, I'll also give it a 10. Kudos to its writers and directors for a job well done. Zhan Junbai's character is well built (I'm not going to say more as it can spoil the story). His character can make you feel kilig, annoyed, and shocked. LITERALLY! A GENIUS! The last 2 episodes got me like: 😮 wtf? Lmao. For Chen Yuzhi, his caring, considerate and righteous character coincides with his job as a doctor, which oppose to Jiang Yuelou's character which is courageous, loyal, and reckless. If you knew how to read between the lines, and mindful to little details (stares, gestures, body movements), you can really see that their relationship is MORE than just a friend or a brotherly love. It's more than that. (If you know what I mean). The lines Zhan Junbai that goes "Jiang Yuelou, we both lose" proved this claim. If you wanna know more, WATCH THIS SERIES!
For the sounds, cinematography, and editing, I'll give it a 9.2. Considering that Chinese dramas do dubbing (for censorship purposes), the way the sounds sync with the actors' mouth, it's good. It's just that, some parts of the audios are cut, and sometimes it can last to more than just 5 minutes which can make the viewers rely on the subtitle. BGMs are also good as it can add ✨ spice ✨ to the scenes, but it can be funny sometimes as some of it are delayed, or started too early. It's good, but it can still be improved.
Wow! Assuming that this post pass through your news feed, and you really read it till here, thank you. Forgive me if some words are inappropriate, or some errors are found (this is just me, talking random things in a public post. Hahaha DAMING TIME!) Anyway, I recommend this drama. If you like crime, republic setting drama, and you wanted to feel love, annoyed, pissed, and challenged, then this drama is for you.
