Lacking Overall

We all know by now that this is a budget-strict series and it shows. But, I was expecting more than this. If they have a tight budget for this series, atleast they would've put out more creativity than this. Especially the time where they were beaten up, the punching shot was so cringy that I died instead of them (lol). Plus, they weren't rushed in a hospital. If they can't afford to rent a room in a hospital, they should've put out props for that and use their sense of resourcefulness.

The ending is what I'm dissapointed in. They stared at each other and they went straight to the credits. They should've atleast given them a dialougue or someting.

BUT..... the actors were promising. They are the ones who saved this series. The chemistry has potential and progressed over time. I really want to have this series a second season but hopefully with a slightly bigger budget because this could be a global phenomenon.

I joined specifically bc this was so bad

It's hard to believe something this bad was released this year. It really seems like something produced back in 2001.
From the manager doing makeup in a conference room by herself multiple episodes, to one character making a dash for their car that's parked in the middle of a building's open plaza that screams PRODUCT PLACEMENT, to the characters lying in a bed at home immediately after being beaten, to the most awkward psuedo sex scene since The Room, there were so many odd choices it made it hard to watch. The actors closely started out trying to act, but it seems like literally everyone involved gave up and phoned it in after the first 30 minutes. Highschoolers can produce better quality content for youtube/tiktok content.

And, despite watching the last episode twice, i have no idea what happened. First, the mom was anti-gay, then worried about social judgement, then anti-Ying. Then the couple breaks up in an extended, flowery sequence, Ding quits his job, and then... in the last minute, the couple bumps into each other and it's implied they're together again. But between all this, and all the lost threads along the way, Ding's mom hasn't been shown to change her opinion and we have no idea what's going on with her, Ding hasn't started another job, did Ding & Ying bump into each other coincidentally or did they plan to meet up? I still don't understand.

The best thing about this was the outtakes episode. The leads clearly had some chemistry, but somewhere, something along the process squandered it.

I wish the actors better luck in the future.

underrated and worth the watch :)

i really really enjoyed the series / drama . Most of the reviews are negative so here is a positive one .
Yes, i know i gave it a low rating but this is how i usually rate!!!!

This series /drama is well-made. I understand that this series / drama does not have extremely high production and incredibly amazing acting and very good background music and camera quality.
But the problem was NOT as bad as some people here are saying :(
most of them are overreacting :0

For me personally , it was not as big of a deal .I usually focus more on the plot / Chemistry / acting instead of production quality
i believe it is possible to have a great movie or drama or series with low budget.
and this series / Drama , everything was good.

Howeverrrrrrrrrrrr.....The first 4 episode, you might find it boring and a bit cringy but like the cutish type of cringy but trust me it gets better. The rest 6 episodes are amazing.

I definitely recommend this series

Painful

Office romances could go either way for me and this one crashed.

First episode wasn’t too bad, kept me invested. The acting standard started going downhill from there (I mean I kept it low to begin with).

The point where I truly lost it was when Jun Jie was supposedly working overtime, courtesy of his boss. His pc screen WASN’T EVEN ON. Note- he wasn’t pretending to be working because the boss was sitting right in front of him.

I didn’t feel any connection between the leads. Maybe things improved later on in the series but I had nothing to make me want to go on watching this.

I get that it’s a low budget production (note- make sure to get a working pc screen though!) however acting gems have been found through them. This one wasn’t it for me...keep fighting!!

And i enjoy all 8 episodes, but 9-10 was terrible and i skiped most of it.

2/10 acting
Very bad acting

2/10
Story is really lame but i don't mind, i really don't care about the low budget, but the story itself is lame.

Music 1/10
Worse of the worse it can be

it was fun to watch 1-8 because it's like a joke, funny and lame but fluffy
but the end ...so lame so tribble
there even not enough words for the review to get pass it, it's just lame drama, and i've seen a lot of bl, also chinese bl..there were a lot better with low budget

Low Budget, But Addicting!

I was excited to watch this BL as it has been marketed as the first Chinese BL in a while due to the ban on gay content in the country. It was also the most anticipated series on MyDramaList for awhile before it started to air! I watched the first episode as it was free on GaGaOoLaLa. This BL is quite low-budget with weird camera angles, off-putting background music and cheap sound effects. The sound editing is also a bit unclear. However, the story is quite promising as it sets up the cat-and-mouse relationship between a company executive and a lazy employee. I'm excited to see the next episodes and to see where the story goes from here.

On a side note, I don't think that one of the leads is going to die (which many people have joked about since it is a Chinese BL). Since funding for this project was from outside China and I don't think that this series is airing in China, I think that it could circumvent the ban (hopefully)...

Upon watching episodes 2 and 3, it is clear that the production is very low quality. The sound editing and cinematography are both quite poor. The acting of the side characters are quite atrocious. This series feels like a school project to be honest. The only good thing about this series so far is the chemistry between the two leads which is clearly palpable and the character of Ying Jia Ming who injects some life and excitement into this low-budget production with his charisma and free-range spirit. I doubt that the production will get better but hopefully, by concentrating on the central relationship, this series can become something good...

Episodes 3 to 6 were decent. I enjoyed how the two leads' relationship began to build as they got closer. I look forward to seeing how their relationship will progress...

Episodes 7 and 8 were quite good! Fantastic chemistry between the two leads. My heart broke when Ding Jun Jie chose to stay with Mengyao instead of going home with Ying Jia Ming, but they quickly reconciled! Yes, the series is low-budget but the story works. You feel invested in their relationship. It's funny and heart-warming! I absolutely adored that interactions between Ding's mother and Ying, especially how she treats him like a son-in-law!

Upon watching the last two episodes of the series, i was so disappointed that Ding's mother forced Ding to break up with Ying. I thought that she would have been accepting. How upsetting! Though they do keep seeing each other on the DL, so there's a sliver of a silver lining. I would have liked a better ending though where Ding and Ying are able to actually be together in the open, though it wouldn't have been very realistic, especially with Ding's mother's heart condition. It sucks how she shames/guilts him into choosing her over Ying. I hope in the hypothetical future that Ding and Ying are able to be together, whether that means that the mother died or accepts her son, at least they would be together...

Very Disappointing

Tbh I had a high expectations for this one but I got heavily disappointed. I couldn’t finish the third episode…

First of all, the production was so bad. There were a lot of audio issues and voice overs. There were times you didn’t understand the actors because it was so poor quality.

The story in general felt a bit rushed. They didn’t even try to create an original story line. There also were parts of the story that didn’t make any sense…

All in all I do not recommend watching this series :((

A cinematografia é péssima.

Agora vamos falar bem.
