It's been a struggle looking for a perfect Korean Drama for so many years. At first it was purely out of curiosity about North Korea but when I started watching , it was so damn good. What makes this drama so damn good? Well, the only thing I can pretty much say is to stop wasting your damn time and start watching it. So if you are looking for a good drama, this drama is not the right one for you because it's not good but it's PERFECT(CAPSLOCK). I might sound a bit exaggerating but say whatever you want to say.

I've been a K-DRAMA FAN for so many years and I've never even written a review until this drama was born. Yes, this is my first K-DRAMA review ever. I mean there are a lot of good K-DRAMA out there but those dramas never made me bother to write a review. Recently, I almost gave up on watching K-DRAMA before this drama was aired. It so damn good.

STORY 10 out 10
The story is so unique and so unpredictable. I know that almost all K-DRAMA has a unique storyline but sometimes they make it very complicated. But the story of this drama was on point because it's simple but interesting. At first, I thought that the story will be more political but I was wrong, they balanced it so well. My only sad experience was waiting for the next episode to be aired because every episode left me hanging like I want to fast forward time just to watch the next episode.

ACTING/CAST 10 out 10
They have a good eye in choosing a talent. The main characters Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin fit PERFECTLY in their roles. They have PERFECT chemistry. I heard rumors about them secretly dating and I hope that it's true(haha). I love to see them make dozens of beautiful children(haha). The supporting cast was also perfect for their respective roles too.

MUSIC 10 out 10
I couldn't ask for more. The music was PERFECT(CAPSLOCK). I literally downloaded everything and couldn't even stop myself playing it the whole time.

CINEMATOGRAPHY 10 out 10
The quality was so PERFECT. I couldn't ask for more. I don't know what to say anymore. Just see it yourself.

If you like korean drama, then I highly recommend this drama 100%. The only thing that made me dissapointed is that it only have 16 episodes. I really want more, I hope that there will be season 2 or something. Trust me, you will fall in love with it.

This is hands down the best drama I've ever watched. I didn't know most of the actors before watching and was interested in the plot because it was a military romance (which is my favorite genre). I think from now on, I'll be watching a lot of Hyun Bin's dramas because — his smile ?
Acting-wise, the show was perfect. The main leads have perfect chemistry, the best that I've ever seen onscreen. I also felt like the romance was perfect: it wasn't pushed on the characters, there really seemed to be some character development and the relationship is pure love (makes you dream)
As a musician, I fing OSTs very important and CLOY didn't disappoint me one bit. I loved Jeong Hyeok's piano piece so much i'm learning it now.
The visuals were just AMAZING. The screen atmosphere kept changing between North and South and the scenery in Switzerland was breathtaking.
Finally, the storyline... This drama has the perfect amount of romance, action and comedy. Together, this gives you THE best drama of the year. The intrigue was tight, all the characters had depth and there were no plotholes whatsoever. I feel like this kind of drama is fairly rare and I cherished every second I spent watching it. To be honest, I'll probably rewatch it to cry my eyes out all over again...
Conclusion: watch CLOY because you will NEVER regret it!

When serendipity strikes, or crash lands...

As the desolation of isolation hits, this modern day Classic is a heartwarming distraction. From Toto-we're-not-in-Kansas-anymore to sullied-consciences for Das Leben der Anderen, to Casablancan self-sacrificial charms in the unlikeliest of minefields, this hopeful hilarious romcom shows love may extend beyond our virtual, internally-or-externally-imposed confines and perhaps transcend even the unbridgeable chasm of the 38th parallel, causing viewers to rethink what happiness, honour, duty-of-care, compassion and community mean in today's world, no matter the sociopolitical and technological trappings.

Masterpiece

I have just finished the last episode of this beautiful masterpiece, the tears that streamed down my eyes on so many occasions was such a missed feeling that I haven't experienced in such a long time.

I know its kinda fairytale like love which we all yern for in our lives, but sometimes a drama like this lets you reset for a moment and re-think what you have or have been through In a relationship.

Either way the whole story makes you realise how important you are to someone out there.

Beautiful main leads and such an amazing OST which plays beautifully and in sync with every special scene and gets those tears rolling down your face.

Story: At first one will think how the team of this series will manage to extend the story given that the premise of the series is about a girl who accidentally crash landed in North Korea and her journey in trying to go back to the South. For many k-dramas their is a tendency wherein you are given an extraordinary plot into the first half of the series and then it will start to come crashing down when the second half comes in. However that wasn't the case for CLOY because they were able to make the story interesting even after overcoming the introductory premise they showcased. With that. think that was one of the strong points of this series' plot. The only downside of CLOY's story is its cliches. Namely, the overstretched failures of the female lead's escape and the seemingly one dimensional antagonists. Realistically, it will be hard for somebody to escape North Korea, CLOY made it felt like an easy task to do so because the male lead that was helping the female lead is a pretty powerful man there. And although this was the case for CLOY it took the main leads so many attempts before achieving this goal, thus I think the reason why it was overstretched a little bit. And for the antagonists of the story, they come off as one dimensional because they seemed to only exist to be evil and oppose the protagonist. Their motivations were not explored that much up until the last episodes of the series, making them completely superficial and shallow for most of their screen times.

Acting/Cast: I believe a key point of a good acting is that if the actors have made me believe that they are actually going through with whatever their characters are going through. And in CLOY the actors, especially the main and second lead were able to do this. Both couples' chemistry were believable. Also, they were able to flesh out enough vulnerability and rawness to their performances to make the audience feel for what their characters are going through. For the cast, I believe I have not been exposed to too much k-dramas that will give me a thought of an actor that will fit better than the cast itself. Or I can say I haven't thought of any because the acting performances even of the supporting cast were good enough to not make anyone believe that their is someone better fit for the role. CLOY worked because even the chemistry between the supporting cast and their acting performances were good.

Music: I am not a Korean, so for most of the times I remember and OST from a k-drama when I have heard enough of it and their are some English lines that I can sing along with. In the case of CLOY, I really don't remember any of its OST. Maybe the songs don't have much English lines to it or maybe it wasn't used repeatedly throughout the series. I really don't know. To put it in simple terms, it was not memorable (at least for me). But I believe their OST is still good and anyone who will choose to listen to it with English subtitles will surely remember it and how it resonated to CLOY's story. Well obviously I haven't done that but that's just because you know their are certain dramas that doesn't require its audience to do this because they were already able make their OST memorable to its audience by just watching the series itself, like DOTS (no comparison intended and please stop the argument that DOTS or CLOY is better than the other because they're both different and god in their own ways).

Re-watch Value: Personally, I don't really re-watch anything completely because I feel like it's a waste of time but I believe CLOY is a k-drama that is highly re-watchable. If your going to look at YouTube and the videos of CLOY in it, you will see that their is so many engagement towards this videos. And this is not only because of the series popularity but also its re-watchable aspect to it. I guess the reason for this is that CLOY makes you feel good for most of its parts because of it romantic comedy aspect and the great chemistry of the main leads.

Inseparable part of my Heart

This is just a magic that won't leave me until the day I die. Never in my life I loved a show the way I love 'Crash Landing on You'. After finishing it I felt so empty, I hope it was a never ending show. This show is a masterpiece. It made someone like me cry & laugh at the same time. I've cried & felt sad numerous times watching the show. I've felt so many emotions while watching it I can't explain. Even there were some scenes that confused me about my emotions. I've felt my heart wrenching & fluttering so many times. The acting was so good & every single character was iconic. All of them had a story to tell, I fell in love with everyone. The OSTs are stuck inside me even though it's been almost a year since I watched this show. I daily keep humming it's music. After watching this show there wasn't a day where I didn't think about 'Crash Landing On You'. Even saying it's name makes me happy. I just can't get over it. I would love to watch this show again & again for the rest of my life.

Cheesy, cliché and what not? But you can't escape the charm!

This is perhaps one of the dramas, I will never bring my critic out. If I do, then I will have to give 0 ratings. When it comes to Korean drama, I let my guard down in critiquing, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to watch anything.

But this is a masterpiece of typical Korean rom-com, yet feels different and it has all the perfect ingredients of a successful content, both in popularity and money wise.

This is the only K-drama, I have already watched it 3 times, whenever I have nothing else to watch. From acting to story, and to music and stills, it will keep you entertained and not a single moment, you feel boring.

I am big fan of main leads, I have watched them before this drama, and they are one of Koreas greatest actors of their generation. Hyu Bin and Son Yejin, have done some projects that proves their acting ability beyond perfection. son Ye-Jin is close to 40, and she looks in her early 30s. Her dramas and films, are just out of class, watch all of em.

I thought the acting/casting choice was exceptional. Hyun Bin as always pulls off a cool but incredibly charming character (Much like in "Secret Garden" and "My Name is Kim Sam Soon") but I think the biggest applause should go to Son Ye Jin whose character is outwardly spoken and a "rich girl" which usually could annoy people, yet she portrayed her in such a way where we as viewers see her as honest and a go-getter and incredibly cool (have you ever seen an actress run that fast and look super cool at the same time?). Also big props should go to the supporting cast; the four squadron members (Yang Kyung Won and Yoo Su Bin had me in fits of laughter) as well as the women in the NK town; their scenes of comic relief as well as heart-warming parts are definitely what carries the story so well. Special shout out to Jeon Gook Hwan (Jung Hyuk's father) and Jang So Yeon (Myung Sook/Man Bok's wife) I think they were two supporting characters that I really really thought the actors did a great job with. From what I have read and seen online, the production did a very good job in keeping with accuracy of what life in NK is like (you can check out videos by defectors on YT!), obviously there will be parts that are heightened for dramatisation, but overall I think it was a great show. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a show so much! Going to have to look for something to fill the gap in my heart now haha. The overall isn't 10/10 only because the ending wasn't exactly what I would've gone for- but I suppose the trickiest part is ending a show well. Great show! Would recommend to everyone.

I absolutely loved this series. It was the perfect introduction to K-dramas. I have been meaning to watch Korean dramas for awhile but never did until I read about the raves for this series which happened to be on Netflix so why not? Not what I was expecting from a K-drama (I was expecting something more along the lines of 2gether), but it was so cute and sentimental and touching. I cried so many times watching this show. I haven't cried this much watching anything, which shows how good this shows is (it also shows how manipulative this show is, but it works). Far better than the overrated Itaewon Class in my opinion.

“Easy on the eyes and on the heart.”

The chemistry between North Korean Jung Hyuk and South Korean Se Ri was so palpable you’d be fervently wishing for the Korean Reunification to finally happen. Clearly, even Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin felt their strong chemistry that they have now become a real life couple!

The $20M budget was put into good use - from the impressive production design in far flung filming locations, brilliant casting of an array of talented actors, and the lucid contributions from behind-the-scenes of an outstanding crew.

I gushed at the romantic scenes, laughed at the comedic parts, cried at the sad moments, got angry and upset, became scared and shuddered. In other words, I got so carried away with their realistic portrayals even if it was a fictional story.

My one and only criticism: The ending could have been more elaborate in order to bolster that the much-beloved “Ri-Ri couple” did indeed, live happily ever after.

This. Drama. Is. So. Moving.
I can't believe I cried as much as I did while watching this. Gosh I have so many emotions from watching this and I don't know how to put it into words. This drama made me feel happy yet took me through a roller coaster full of emotions, whether I cried, laughed, smiled, or related to the character, I still wanted to watch more! The plot was awesome and the characters pulled off their job amazingly. I will definitely be watching more drama from the main actress and actor.
This has definitely taken the spot of my most favorite drama, no questions asked.

I’ve actually thought about if I should make a review or not. But it’s already been one week and I still have mixed feelings about this drama.

First of all, I want to say that this is my first review but, somehow, I’ve felt that I should do it.

I’ve really liked it from the beginning – which is very rare for me to like a kdrama from the first episode. Usually it takes more than 2 or 3 episodes to decide if I like it or not. But this drama had indeed something special. The cast was amazing, and from my point of view it has everything that a drama should have – romance, comedy and action.

Maybe what made me feel to really like it from the start it was the fact that I love military uniform (and when I saw captain Ri in his coat, I was literally fangirling), or it was the chemistry between Se Ri and captain Ri. I honestly don’t know, but what I know for sure it’s that I really recommend this drama.

Ri Jung is my type of man – protective, ambitious and charming. The love story between him and Se Ri it was so pure and emotional. They had a lot of difficulties, but they’ve got through them together.

On the other hand, I really wanna talk a little about Dan. She is very independent and strong, which made me to like her. Even if at the beginning I didn’t like her (because of her engagement with Ri), after some episodes, I was of the opinion that she’s actually really nice and her character is very well-writen. She’s very sophisticated and refined. For me, the ending it was just too much when it comes to Dan. I think that it was really unfair what happened because she obviously deserved better. It was really unexpected for me.

Anyway, I think that I’ve said what I wanted. Of course, I won’t forget about Ri’s team, and how funny they were (especially Chi Su), or Joo Muk’s cute addiction with k-dramas. Should I also mention Park Bum’s handsome charm? It was a very special team, and their bond with Se Ri was so precious.

Also, the OST’s are just so good. I already have some songs that I constantly listen.

Overall, I really recommend this drama. I think that everyone should see it at least once in their life.
