both have contract marriage turning into real romance.

It's similar in the aspect of like story, but when you watch Playful you will automatically think of the lead from Goong because they are quite similar a well as the fact they are written by the same screenwriter so if you enjoyed Goong you most likely will enjoy Playful Kiss, you will also have the teddy bears at the end of each episode.

Both titles blend modern day Korea with traditional Korean culture. They also both have the rich man/poor woman trope.

The plots revolve around the same topic, family relationship, and early unwanted marriage. At first, they dislike each other so bad that it turns into several funny incidents but that's what made them closer, which eventually leads them to fall in love. Both dramas have a pair of male and female antagonist, that seek love from the main leads and try to split the couple apart.

24-year-old Murakami Maiko is a very sheltered girl who has never had a relationship with a guy. It is decided that she will go for a matchmaking session with someone recommended by her father Genichiro who owns a company. The man Hanasato Harumi is 20 years her senior and also a divorcee. Although Maiko is less than thrilled, she discovers when they meet that he is a charming man with an air of maturity and she instinctively makes a move on him. Harumi had intended to meet Maiko once before he turned her down since she is the daughter of the CEO of an important client. However, she turns out to be more than he had imagined. Maiko confounds him the whole time but he is attracted to her straightforward, pure, and dignified nature. He accepts the completed marriage registration form from her on their third date after she presses him for a kiss. They get married despite their 20-year age gap, and their life as newlyweds begins.

A must watch Japanese version of Meteor Garden. Poor girl rich guy & fell in the love in the process with so many hassle before they were together. Among all the version I like the Taiwanese version in my opinion.

Both stories shares a similar story that one can't help noticing a lot of similarities between them, as in the focus on Queen Dangyeong. While it wasn’t mentioned in the manhwa if Goong was written based on Queen Dangyeong, a lot of the details in the story was quite similar with some bit of changes regarding Lee Shin and Lee Yul. Not to mention that both of the main character shared the name Shin Chae-kyeong. Basically, Goong was like a modern alternate retelling of Queen Dangyeong's story with a slightly happier ending.

Although Easy Fortune Happy Life is alot more cheesy than Goong, to me, they both have the same feel to them.
-For money, the rich men marry the innocent girl.
-Men have a girlfriend on the side.

While Mask is a deep melodrama, Goong is just a typical romcom.
But still they have some commons:
- Ji Hoon as male lead
- A contract marriage, where the guy cant the girl, his wife, at the beginning and is mean to her
- A female lead, who comes from a poor family and just married into a rich family to help her own family out of financial issues
...both dramas are defintely worth watching.

- contract marriage that leads to love
- annoying ex-girlfriend that tries to break up the main couple
- second lead syndrome
