beautiful, minus a few things, a few episodes perhaps
the fact that i loved phupha absolutely incredibly so much and then he didn't apologize to tian.. it really hurt. and the fact that i still love him way too much that i can't get over the disappointment of that one part of the plot.... it felt so unlike how phupha would handle such a situation... that i think it's the writer's mistake, as if the writer didn't understand their own character. or that it was such an unnecessary trouble in the story that i find very difficult to make sense of. i was in such a bad mood after the diary confronting scene that i didn't enjoy anything since then so i stopped watching after episode 9 and took a break. (what was all that misunderstandings, followed by even more misunderstandings as if they didn't know each other the least bit. both of them seemed so out of character & out of chemistry all of a sudden. also, what if it really was tian who, accidentally, hit torfun? just cause it wasn't tian behind the wheels changed so much for him?? why, how? i couldn't quite relate to this sentiment :c)the ending was really beautiful tho. made me feel love for it again. so.. i don't know, maybe i should rewatch it from the start to accept it. :(
beautiful drama btw.
earth's acting was beyond expectation, so very good portrayal of his character. to the point that i loved every time he appeared on screen. i'd like to watch him again in some other work though i think it'll depend more on the character whether i'll like him there or not.
also, incredible how he could show affection so beautifully, just by looking at a person.
the storyline is nice and fresh for the most part.
khama & longtae are the mvps. <3
overall, refreshing, but also, unexpectedly overdramatic at times.
(might change my rating after i get over the disappointments)

Kicking my legs and giggling all the way!
Awe man I just finished this and I'm just so happy I invested my time in this. I usually hate shows that have hour long episodes but I looooooove shows that can make that hour go by fast and this show man god damn. Perfect. Everything just fell into place all the time. I was worried about some aspects like would they do the dumbass liar reveal trope thing? Which they did but they handled it well by having everyone react realistically: grieving the loss of Torfun.I was also worried about the slow burn aspect but hehehe it was so good!!! It was so worth the wait when they finally got together and smooched and the romance build up flowed organically.
Even the more out there aspects of the show fit in. The whole smuggling thing? Foreshadowed throughout the show and that's just an example. Some people might get annoyed at the product placement but I didn't mind them.
The soundtrack btw GOD DAMN WAS IT LOVELY. It was soothing and beautiful and damn it I just really liked this show. I cried, I laughed, I kicked my legs and giggled even though I'm a fully grown man. I'm kissing this show on the forehead happily.

Forever My Favorite
I want to start off by saying I've watched this show some time ago, just as I read the novel around the same time. This series is SO MUCH MORE than a bl. It has a solid plot and awesome acting.
It teaches the importance of life and how you can live to be a better person, as it's never too late to become the better version of yourself.
I find Tian's character to be one of the best BL characters ever written, and I was able to prove my point not only thanks to Mix's acting ( who perfectly captured Tian's existence and brought it to life), but also thanks to the novel â which was amazingly adapted by GMMTV and P'Aof.
The show can be understood as a lone piece, managing to pass down such a strong message through the portrayal of love.
Clearly, this isn't your series if all you're looking for is hot actors playing gay for the camera.
Though, the romantic scenes are still present and so heartwarming.
Earth and Mix are a fantastic match, and it shows. Their bond is so sweet, they're comfortable around each other and truly care for one another.
Nonetheless this show is truly amazing and perfect in every way.
Many people would disagree, but I find this to be EarthMix's best project.
For months, I've kept on watching other shows. Not only thai bls, but in general.
Yet, this always held a special place in my heart, to the point I'd say I'm part of its own fandom.
A tale of a thousand stars is a true gem that everyone should watch at lest once in their life đ

A bit disappointed.. and it doesn't go well with my logic-
I knew that people think differently, so I will respect the writer's POV in this matter, but I still don't like it.But this series is really well made and the story are nice and its fun searching for possible scenario with the minimal clues. It was fluffy yet still a drama that gets my heart racing whenever Tian gets in trouble. This is a story with a nice plot and I can fell the character's development within the story and how the cast moves and act.
!!!!! SPOILER !!!!!
First! I don't get why the story keep stating that Tian still responsible for Torfun's death. That, even though he wasn't the one who drove the car, he still "give the weapon".
Its like, if I lend my friend my knives so they can help me cut some vegetables but they accidentally use it to stab people instead, but its still my fault that he holds the weapon. Which didn't go well with my logic. I lend it for them to help me, without any ill intention and ill-goal. For its a person who control the knives. I know that Tian give his friend a prize if he win the match which can become an act of encouragement, but it is still not to encourage to kill people.
And I understand if Tian blame himself for "giving the weapon" which is nice so that the Chief could console him, BUT! NO, the chief didn't deny the thought that Tian did "gives the weapon". Which bring me to my next disappointment,
The 9th episode where Chief tries to console Tian, I kept on waiting for Chief to apologize to Tian for making such rushed decision, jumping into conclusion, or even apologize for involving Tian in his unsolved matter with Sakda (the antagonist). Which is a bit different from his stern character, but it could show how he treasure Tian you could even sugar coat it with how when he almost died, apologizing to Tian is what he want to do.
Dam, I'm so mad that I curse at the the Chief.

Was this review helpful to you?
I won't say it was worth it
Over all i liked the story line! was something new but just like most of other gmmtv shows there was a need for improvement. in some scenes over all the series was good but at some scenes it went dull like there where major ups and downs in the acting and the storyline. it was not consistent with the acting and story. earth and mix are great actors they just need a better script to showcase their talent because this series didn't attract my attention enough to watch other earthmix series..But it depends on person to person you might like it..

Beautiful story
I may be 3 years late in watching this series. Have been binge-watching it in two days. Love it. Love the story, love the acting, love the music. I have both main leads in Midnight Chicken before watching this. Love how the lead characters have different personalities in each series.I liked the surprises we all got at the end. If Tian was hiding a secret which he revealed towards the end, little did we know that Chief Phupha was also hiding a secret all along. Among the supporting actors, I liked Dr. Nam a lot. I like the Khama, the village head, and the school children. Interesting to know that the villagers are speaking in a dialects, as I noticed there were subtitles in Thai (I also read that Mix is actually fluent in this dialect, but since the role he played as Teacher Tian from Bangkok, he never used this dialect in the series)
Overall I loved the story, although towards the end (episodes 8-9) some scenes seemed to be a bit slow, which could be shortened, and sometimes become a not too melodramatic.
Something not too important, but I couldn't help notice is that Tian came to the village bringing a medium-sized backpack. How come he has so many different outfits throught the series. We rarely see him wear the same clothes in different episodes :-)

An almost fairy tale BL story in a remote village in Thailand
This BL story felt almost like a fairy tale to me and is centred around the development of the relationship between two guys with very different backgrounds as they meet in a remote village all up in the North of Thailand. One being the rich city boy while the other is the country strong guy, it can sound a bit unoriginal...But the context in which they meet as well as the events leading to their encounter, bring a lot of savours to the plot. The romance between the two main characters is completely platonic but it is still bringing all the feelings and is truly convincing. I found the chemistry between the two actors pretty great and they managed to convey a lot of emotions through just staring at each other or slight hand touches. The development of their relationship was really good with just the last 2 episodes containing too much of (one-sided) noble idiocy from one specific character for my liking.
I think what I liked the most from this drama is the character of Tian, played by "Mix Sahaphap Wongratch". I truly enjoyed his performance and for me he carried the show acting-wise as well as narration-wise. I'm not sure if it is entirely due to the actor' skills or if it is more linked to the writing, but I will for sure try watching another drama with him.
All along the course of the story, I was rooting so much for the happiness of Tian: I was able to relate to him and I empathised so much with his circumstances and all the burden he was trying to carry. He was the key element in my enjoyment of the show and I wanted him to be appreciated and loved for himself and not because of connections to others characters. Fortunately, the script really was satisfying in those aspects. The scenario maybe missed a bit the mark regarding some of the side characters which could have benefited for more in-depth storylines but overall it is a minor flaw to my eyes.
The production was clearly kind of low budget. Some action scenes and props felt very cheap to me but it did not prevent me to enjoy the series overall. I quite appreciated the soundtrack overall, it was a bit repetitive at time but I found the instrumental with the Klhui (= type of Thai flute) poetic and charming.
I would recommend this to people looking for a BL story with a lot of turmoil and feelings combined with remote village storylines and rural atmosphere. If you have enjoyed "Crash Landing On You" or even "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" where people from 2 very different worlds meet and fall in love with each other, as well as learn a lot from their interactions with villagers, this might be just right in your alley !

Captivating
Tbh I didnât expect to like this series as much as I do. The storyline is great and always has be at the edge of my seat like âwhen is the secret gonna be releasedâ. The actors Earth and Mix play their characters amazingly and are definitely able to get their characters emotions across. Although I wish some parts of the story werenât so redundant it still turned out to be great. Earthmix is a great pairing and they just complement each otherâs acting. I hope to see more of those two in the future! Was this review helpful to you?

It just missed the the no.1 position of my legendary BL Ranking
I will start with the acting. They are fabulous n fantastic. Particularly â MIXâ .. I didnât believed when some one said that this is his first drama and checked it myself. He portrayed the character with such an ease of experienced character... Hence I can see his hard work. The chemistry between EARTH n MIX.. both main leads is awesome. They made it so romantic without even single I love you.
The story started on very right note, it grasped my attention on 1st episode itself . It not your cliche simple BL, it has story , background., little twists, beautiful locations, sweet music . They have shown Thailandâs different culture too.
Now the back lash (with spoiler) is... the makers showed it like itâs wrong to receive organs from the donor. The girl donated her organs and tian received heart transplantation. This is a great thing to be done. Tian felt bad for the girl who died n want to fulfill her dreams. But when this is revealed everyone including the chief( Earth) says that you killed her or you took her heart as if itâs a bad thing to do. Even They make it as if itâs a wrong n guilt full thing to receive an organ from dead. Chief says this dialogue in one scene â sheâll forgive youâ. Oh common forgive for what living.... breathing... This made my blood boil. Of course she shouldnât have died, but isnât her death is her fault also. She squatting in the middle of the road and looking at the photograph for all her sweet time, with out watching out the vehicles . Okay rest of the villagers are illiterate but the chief though. Why the makers do such a poor job in delivering this message when they throw beautiful spotlight on how itâs a normal thing to be a gay. By the way... Tul , longtae and Tian are the most likeable and my favourite characters of the series.

People always hype this drama up and rate this as one of their favorite BL's. So naturally my expectations were pretty high. I was pretty familiar with the story so nothing seemed very shoking to me. But thats not really the shows fault. i personally thought that the main conlict was very unnecessary. It is not Tian's responsibility to tell everyone that he got Torfuns heart and that she died. First of all is the fact that she died known to Phupa who shouldve been the one telling the village months ago. The fact that he has hidden her death even though the villagers ask about her all the time, is cruel on his side and for me that couldve been the conflict not the other way around. Now that Tian didnt tell people about his heart transplantation is also very understandable hence this is a personal and touchy topic. The fact that he only went to the village because of Torfun was more questionable than the heart transplantation. Anyway im very Khaotung biased so as soon as his character got introduced i was captivated. I do think that the plot got better as the story went on and all in all this was a solid BL, i think i just expected more from the amount of love it gets. Still on the better side so an easy 8/10 Was this review helpful to you?
