Adapted from a novel of the same name written by Shimazaki Fujimura. Kisoji is all in the mountains. Shozo's son Azoyama Hanzo, who studied at Edo in the end of the Edo period, complains that the temple parasitizing the peasants will be crushed, and that all civil matters will be sacred. However, the rebellion of the upper class is more intense than expected, and the appeal is rejected. Hanzo, who became the head of the 17th generation of the Aoyama family, eventually released all the rice from the storehouse during the great harvest of Keio. Even after the Meiji Restoration, the lives of the peasants were not improved, and Hanzo appealed to the government office to get rid of the plight. A mother-in-law of her daughter who witnessed the affliction of his father tried to commit suicide. (allcinema) Edit Translation
