Hosokawa Chikako

- Died: March 20, 1976
She graduated from Koran Women's School and joined Osanai Kaoru’s Tsukiji Little Theater in 1925, making her stage debut in "Kakujin Kakusetsu". In 1929, at age 23, she left the theater to help form the Shinjuku Theater Company. In 1934, she co-founded the Shinkyo Theater Company but withdrew from the stage after its forced dissolution in 1940. During her time with Shinkyo, she also joined the P.C.L. Film Production Company.
After World War II, Hosokawa became a member of the Mingei Theater Company.
She passed away from obstructive jaundice on March 20, 1976, at the age of 70.
Before her theater career, Hosokawa was married and had a daughter. Following her co-starring role with Maruyama Sadao in the 1926 play "Hose," she divorced her husband and began a romantic relationship with Maruyama, though they later separated.
