My Love, Enlighten Me (2020)

Seriously Cute

I was slow to warm to this Drama at first because of the formulaic tsundere/Candy setup, but the magic of the OTP won me over. ESPECIALLY Ms Li. Being cute on demand is not easy, yet she sells it throughout the Drama, never overdoing it, and so very many times conveying the impression of an adorably cute kitten with eerily uncanny accuracy. The strength of her performance was such that her "I wanna hear it again" scenes at the very end actually bumped my score from 7.5 to 8.

I also liked the balance that was nicely encapsulated in the very last lines of the Drama. In the end, it was clear that they were a pair, a partnership, with none of the implicit chauvinism so common in this trope. Having checked Ms Li's SNS, it's very clear that she is not "Nuannann", which is why I am so impressed at how well she and the ML sold me on their characters. Another fluffy keeper from the PRC, yay!

Not for cat lovers!

Dropped because I can't stand the way cats are being treated in this drama. Being shaken, obviously drugged... By the time it happened by the third time, I couldn't take it anymore.

Story wise it's not bad, but not special either. I wouldn't recommend it. The ML seem to fall in love for seemingly no reason other than the one time FL showed him kindness in a moment of need. Most of the time, he's not a likeable guy. Capable, yes, but he's mean and cold to people who don't matter to him, including the FL in the beginning. So I didn't exactly warm up to his character, before I dropped it due to the cat being mistreated in this drama.

I wouldn't recommend it. There are better ones out there.

came across this drama by recommendation as saw the lead actress' mum ig post and decided to watch it, to my surprise, fell in love with this drama. as the lead actress gave me a very bubbly impression and the lead actor, ive seen his act in meteor garden before. and the story was pretty good as it shows the struggle majority would go through. but while watching the drama, can't help but the resemblance of the lead actress, Eleanor Lee and her mum was close to 70% especially at certain scene, it totally looks like her mum. pretty much a fan of her mum, Quan Yifong since I was a kid, love to watch Comedy Night, Don't Worry be Happy. and pretty much all the stars awards in Singapore were hosted by her. was literally watching "Hear U Out" a talkshow by her mum right before watching this drama. its my first time watching Eleanor's drama and over impressed with her acting as she gives a very lovable vibes. although ive never watched her previously drama, but was impressed with her Apple Ad. love this whole drama, the story are very meaningful, can't wait for episode 15. managed to watch from the first ep to 14 within two days.

great acting

its the first time i cried at the first 3 episodes especially at the inspirational words said by the female lead i usually skip things like that but this is an exception i was touched by the great acting of the actress this drama is great for me it will totally wreck my best drama list and i was hooked at the drama by the first 3 episodes.. i was only watching this because its a romcom but i dont think its simply a romcom because its really inspirational and the female lead starts at 0 when she was betrayed by her friend. i love watching this i hope the storyline becomes greater as time passes.

It's Exciting!!

Didn't expect that this Chinese drama will make me cry on its first episodes. It's a sweet romantic comedy type of show so I thought I would be laughing most of the time. Insane! Been in love already with it after hearing first its OST, "A Warm" by Liú Rén Yǔ, plus knowing that the amazing Eleanor Lee is the one portraying the main lead, I'm done. Her character is so inspiring, I really love her. Looking forward for her more extraordinary encounters with Leon Leong's character, and her breakthrough after sudden downfall with her so-called friend and family/company. Jiayou!

Tra alti e bassi, questo drama mi è piaciuto. Ciò che ho maggiormente apprezzato si evince dalla protagonista e dal suo modo di riprendersi la propria vita, di sapersi reinventare senza perdersi e rimanendo fedele al suo personaggio di ragazza che ha perso tutto ma non molla. Mi è piaciuto come della sua passione sia riuscita a farne un lavoro e come questo l'ha fatta crescere. Ho apprezzato che non fosse tutto rosa e fiori per lei, ma che cmq ci fosse sempre un qualcosa che la riportava al trauma del primo episodio. Questo ha saputo renderla vera. ML non mi ha fatto particolarmente impazzire come personaggio ma assieme alla protagonista ha saputo creare scene molto dolci. In particolare, non mi ha entusiasmato su di lui il dramma che lo coinvolge perchè sembrava messo troppo di fretta e poco coerente con il resto.
La seconda coppia anche se inizialmente non mi è piaciuta, c'è stato un momento di crisi in cui ho saputo apprezzare come questo li abbia cambiati e dove sono finiti. Per i "terzi incomodi" sono felice invece che non siano finiti esplicitamente come altri drama di questa specie.
Nel complesso il drama tra alti e bassi mi è piaciuto, più nella prima parte che nella seconda, ma cmq merita una possibilità, soprattutto per FL. Non capisco tutte quelle recensioni che parlano di questo amore come un qualcosa di tossico. Personalmente non ho avvertito alcuna red flag.
