They just overall have a kind of similar vibe in how the leads are fated together and that there were a lot of things that happened for them to be together in the end.
Both include pets and both have a light romance with some cute moments. They also have idols as the main leads.
Xiao Bai Yu is the CEO of the Feng Sheng Department store. He is the illegitimate younger grandson of the Xiao family. He was made CEO when his elder half-brother Xiao Jun Jiang had an accident and Jun Jiang resents Bai Yu for this. Tong Tong is a reporter who inherited a strange disease from her father – once she kisses a mammal, she becomes a man within three minutes. One day, in order to change back to a woman, Tong Tong kisses Xiao Bai Yu in her male form, which starts rumours that Bai Yu is gay. To dispel the rumours, Bai Yu asks Tong Tong to pretend to be his girlfriend.
If you loved the mix of romance and fantasy in A Good Day to Be a Dog, you’ll enjoy Legend of the Blue Sea. This drama revolves around a mermaid and a con artist whose lives are connected across time. Like the curse in A Good Day to Be a Dog, the story explores overcoming supernatural obstacles to be with the one you love.
The two shows have a similar odd premise...
+ one of the leads has a supernatural affliction that makes them transform when they come into contact with another person
+ the other lead's kiss is the "cure" to this affliction, and the transformed lead tries to seek skinship or close contact with them to fix their problem
+ both are fluffy romcoms set partly in the workplace
In AGDtBaD, the FL transforms into a dog after she accidentally kisses the ML. She has to kiss him again to reverse the process.
In LMiTD, the ML transforms into another person when someone touches him for more than 5 seconds. He has to kiss the FL in order to transform back into himself.
Differences:
- AGDtBaD is a full length kdrama while LMiTD is a mini-series cdrama
- ML falls first and chases first in LMiTD, reversed in AGDtBaD

Both originated from a Webtoon that has a Gumiho present. One that very obvious and another who isn't. In both drama the main lead(s) are/is trying to figure out a solution to accident they have created. (Spoiler Alert) Around the second half of the drama the female leads gets her memories erased and we see the ML struggle to get the girl to fall in love again. Do they succeeded? That's something you have to find out by watching both shows.
Hao Yun, a vet at a private clinic, leads a mundane life until he accidentally discovers the world is inhabited by monsters. Worried about the secret of their existence leaking, monsters capture Hao Yun and attempt to erase his memories. When their attempts fail, Hao Yun is forced to join Monsters Bureau, where he solves cases involving monsters with the help of his new partner, Wu Aiai. As Hao Yun dives deeper into this new world, he learns that even monsters must deal with the mundane struggles of everyday life and the entanglements created by human emotion.
Both have a lead who magically transforms into an animal at a certain time due to a curse and turns back into a human when kissed by a specific person. Both have a limited time in which to break their curse otherwise they will transform permanently into an animal. Both have leads who work together, with the FL initially disliking the ML.
Both shows have a lot of similarities! They’re both about fate and have a few historical scenes, which are done really well. These two shows are my current favs and they both include going against “fate” or a “curse.” Highly recommend The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract for the great cast, OSTs, plot, etc.! It’s super heartwarming and makes you feel happy, just like A Good Day to Be a Dog ?
