I'm a sucker for healthy relationships and this drama did not disappoint me. I LOVE IT ❤️

there are slight spoilers here not the big ones..
THE CHEMISTRY!!!!!!!!!
They are so cuteeee. Their relationship was so healthy and they never broke up. This is all I like.
We saw them from being in the freshman year to being successful and they never left each other.
The friendship between all of the friends is like a dream for me. Leads had jealous people by their side but they had more good people who will support them till death.
This was so satisfying to watch as female lead was always so strong and she always had a clear mind about her aims. I love her!!! Such a kind yet strong lead.

Male lead is so smart and always sees the future in a good light. I love his personality. He achieved so many things in a young age.
I like how even the side characters who were in relationship never broke up but solved their own problems together.

There's no bad people here all of them got a character development.

Overall this drama easily entered in my top 5 cdramas.

Unexpected Gem with the sweetest chemistry

I’ve fallen hard for Wang An Yu’s acting and character in Forever Love! This simple youth drama brought me back to my youth and I felt every heartbeat of the leads. They’re just so darn cute.

I don’t normally write reviews but I think this is now one of my favorite youth dramas now. I didn’t have any expectations and was expecting to skip scenes, but I didn’t end up skipping much! It’s generally light and fluffy with a few serious moments. There were some parts that I wish was written differently and felt some side characters were miscast (hence knocking 1 star). But the main leads are totally worth it. (Would rate the leads 10/10) The chemistry between the leads are off the charts. They don’t even need to physically touch for you to feel just how much they care for and love each other.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Wang An Yu’s loving gaze goes straight through the screen and you may find yourself blushing too! :)

Sweet love

For a teenage love story, I find this very refreshing. It's not the typical macho-man-I’m-gonna-chase-you and you’re just gonna fall in love with me. There is a lot of character development from the struggles they go through to make them who they are.

What I like about the series:

The chemistry between the leads. Because of the relationship they developed in high school they have this support, love, and care for each other which I really like because it is different from “you’re good looking” let fall in love. I also like there a lot of gentle kissing scenes, almost like a cute peck stating "I adore you and you’re cute!" I also love how it differs from the strong passionate kiss we see often, this is a cute heart-fluttering moment I enjoy thoroughly throughout the series. Their relationship is very realistic and I love the way they handle it; with brains and hacking into systems, this is what you get when you get a brainy hot ML!!! Their relationship is so sweet, definitely on the sweet innocent cute side that you don’t see very often. It's one of those love stories where the ML doesn’t push to get it his way. He slowly and reassuringly lets her know he likes her and makes things work for her. I also like the parts where he is patient with her. He knows about the issue she faces and he can prevent it but he lets her figure it out, giving her the utmost respect, pride, and trust in her! I really like this kind of love story! It teaches you patience, kindness, respect, rightful pride, and rightful jealousy in a relationship. They communicate so well and so sweetly with each other, they try to make their relationship work and it just seems so genuine. I can say so much more about their relationship and why I absolutely adore watching it but I recommend watching it for yourself.

The side characters, some of my favorite are Boss Xie, Duan Ning, the professor, and Zhang Huai Wu. I love the bond and the chemistry male leads have with each one of them. I love how smart ML is for befriending and bonding, teasing, and get along with all of them, it was almost as if they were just like old friends.

The storyline. Even though it is a very typical love story and you know what going to happen, I still enjoy these once in a while. It is simple, ordinary, and very relatable which makes it appealing.

What I don’t like:

All these love triangles and is it worth mentioning a mistakenly love square (or is it pentagon or just a straight line??) between Chen Yi Chuan and Gu Xiao Man.

I also hate how passively senior Shi Ying handle her love life. She took advantage of a kind and naive Zhuang Fei and tried to create tension between her and FL. She also tries every opportunity to put FL at a disadvantage. For one so obsessed with a guy that won’t even look her way, I don’t know why she didn’t try harder to chase him instead of finding every opportunity to ruin FL. Just a small pet peeve of mine, I don’t get why girls hate on girls instead of trying to fix the issue between them and the guy. But I’m glad things clear up at the end.

Overall I recommend anyone looking for a cute and sweet love story. It has been on my watchlist for the longest time and I’m glad I finally made time to watch it.

A couple that makes you feel secured

I think this is the first chinese drama ive seen where the main couple has a very healthy relationship. No possessive gf/bf, no unnecessary jealousy, no nonsensical misunderstandings. The main leads are very mature that it makes you feel secured with their relationship.

Kudos to the actors who portrayed their characters well. Their chemistry is on another level that you will actually feel what the characters are going through. This was supposed to be my filler drama bc ive been really busy with irl but i couldnt help but focus. Definitely worth your time.

I hope we can see the main leads on another drama in the future!!

Good not great but solid on the romantic elements

8/10 is my rating. This is a 2020; Chinese Romantic drama with 28, 35-48 minute episodes.

First I provide a unique synopsis then review

Synopsis
Xia Lin Xi (Xiang Han Zhi) and Jiang Zheng Han (Wang An Yu) were not fast friends when they first met in high school. In fact, top student and class President Lin Xi is charged, by their teacher, with reeling in Zheng Han to comply with some rules. She accomplishes her original missions then sees there is not only a deep intelligence but a hidden side to Zheng Han that reveals he is intelligent and kind. This makes Lin Xi determined to fully convert Zheng Han to help him realize his academic potential. Study dates become akin to real dates and the two draw close enough as more than friends that Li Xi's tiger mom notices. Nearly overnight and without many words Zheng Han is on a bus out of Lin Xi's life. Not one to go down without a fight, Lin Xi chases after Zheng Han only to have her pleas fall on deaf ears. Fast forward several years and the two former friends are now in the same college, the college they had promised each other they would attend together. But, having mended her broken heart, Lin Xi also barricaded it shut and is not ready to give Zheng Han the chance to explain. Being among the Gods and Goddesses of the campus neither lack for potential boyfriend or girlfriends and as their relationship has moved backwards it seems Lin Xi at least may make another choice. Through college and then early professional careers it becomes apparent that their love was not just a passing high school crush.

Review

This story begins "How I met Your Mother Style" with the start being the end of the story and the rest how they got there. I am not a fan of that style as part of the allure to me is not knowing, beyond that it ends happy, just how things will end up. So that was a slight detractor. It is a rather simple, predictable, yet heartwarming romance. Rich girl and down on his luck guy, good girl and bad boy, are the overall vibes. It is a good romance, not over the too great but good if you appreciate straight forward stories.

It ends happy. I recommend it if anyone is a fan of either actor or if they like coming of age, rich girl/poor guy tropes. I would not watch it again but am not sorry I watched it once.

Spoilers

I thought her cousin was mean to the lead girl"s best friend and it was a struggle determining how she would have fallen in love with him. They did really turn it around though and their romance wound up being very sweet.

It is one of the rare occasions when I did not feel sorry the 2nd lead did not get the girl. Not only did he not take no for an answer he tried to use the parents to get her tied into an arranged marriage. He went behind her back getting her in trouble with her already difficult mother. He threw his friendship with lead guy out the window and was willing to tarnish his former friend's future prospects to try to take him away as an option for the lead girl and to save his family's failing company. There is a tiny bit of redemption with him in the end but not nearly enough to overcome all the crappy things he had done. He even completely crushed the girl who had lovingly stood by his side by suggesting she become a secretary with benefits for a rival company. I was completely glad lead girl did not get with him and did not feel sorry when he was sad.

Lin Xi's mom was a tiger mom who projected all her failings and worries of future difficulties onto her daughter. She could not get along with Lin Xi's father because she was a harpy, so she projected that onto Lin Xi's relationship with Zheng Han. Yes Zheng Han did pretend to be a teacher but he delivered and Lin Xi's math skills improved. But her mom did not to hear why a high schooler might have done that, or that he was a good tutor, she simply wanted to hate on him because he was not who she wanted her daughter to marry. At the wedding she was still acting harsh to him when she should have apologized. Sending Lin Xi to study abroad served no purpose but for her to exert power over her daughter, She was an abusive person who was all criticism and no praise to the extent her family was emotionally terrified of her,

The father in law and son in law relationship that developed between Lin Xi's dad and Zheng Han was beyond cute. He was the only kind parent in Lin Xi's life. Her dad helped the couple as much as he could without incurring his wife's wrath. As her father was the one Lin Xi could go to for emotional support it was clear that Zheng Han would also support her. With a mother like she had she would need the two caring men as a buffer.

I do not like the leaving for your or my own good trope and it was particularly annoying in this because Lin Xi literally had no benefit.

It had so little intrigue and a very simple plot, so that it dragged a lot in the latter episodes. They could have easily told the story in 20 episodes so the fact that it was 28 is part of the reason it was so slow in parts.

Perfect youthful romantic drama

Wow,what a series it was, very recently I've watched my calorie boy drama, which is similar to this one,it is also a new age romantic drama, upon searching for similar dramas I've found this gem, what a story, especially the lead actress is damn good, she is the backbone of the drama, her acting skills were top notch, and all actors did their best, the friendship, their struggles to start a startup and how they faced all those problems together, it's simply a master piece for everyone who lack a motivation in life,it has a hidden message, if you meet the right person in your life ,your life will be wonderful, i really liked this one,28 episodes never made me bored at any point, it's for sure recommended to everyone who like new age dramas.

Full off love

I didn’t expect that this drama was so good! It’s not the typical schooldrama story you normally see. If you like love020 than you will defenitly like this. Because i feel here the same vibe. It’s a story what begins in high school it goes further to the university and in the end beiing a adult and work. No crazy ex girlfriends or misunderstanding. It’s a healthy relationship. The love and friendschip, family is beautiful!
All the actors they did a great job. The chemisty between FL and ML is great!
Definitly a must watch<3!

Heartwarming and Surprisingly Real

This story caught me by surprise. Though it’s not surprisingly different in terms of plot, it’s well executed and does manage to throw a few surprises at you. Overall I’d classify it as a feel good romance.

The main leads were by far what made the show for me. The way they supported each other even through the most difficult of times was beautiful to see. Of course they did make mistakes and poor choices along the way but honestly it just adds to the realistic feel of the story. People make mistakes and things don’t always go smoothly. I was so happy that there was no breakup in the show. They really had me thinking there that it was definitely going to happen. The whole noble idiocy play is just really upsetting but I was happy to see this show didn’t go there and they stuck it out and came out stronger for it.
I wasn’t a fan of the secondary couple but oh well just skip over those parts and the rest is lovely

An underrated gem, one of the best romance C dramas I have ever watched!

I finally found the drama which put me out of my C-Drama slump. Lately I had been having a hard time watching C Dramas. I would watch the 1st couple of episodes and then find it too boring to continue watching. The plot or the characters would bother me and I would end up dropping it. This drama was a breath of fresh air- it kept my attention from start to finish.
This drama is an extremely sweet love story ( as you might have already guessed from the title). The main leads are adorable and sweet and caring towards each other and their love is so pure and innocent. You'll be rooting for them as they pass hurdles together, supporting and loving each other.
If i talk about the story, it starts in the senior year of high school. Xia Lin Xi is a star student and JZH is the last ranking in class. That is not to say he is stupid, in fact, he is a computer genius who doesn't care about school or grades, until he meets Lin Xi. Lin Xi helps him out when he is struggling with his family's financial issues and a bond forms between them, blossoming into romance as they transition into University. Once they got together, there was literally no force which could keep them apart. No matter the amount of hurdles , they stuck together through thick and thin and it was heart-warming to watch. Their chemistry was so good, it felt so realistic. The acting was superb. my only complaint is that there weren't as much kissing scenes as I would like. However there were literally so many swoonworthy moments of our main leads that I couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear.
The male lead really stole my heart. Even the female lead was intelligent and she wasn't portrayed as a damsel in distress who couldn't stand up for herself( thank god, those plot lines get too cliched).
What I really liked about these two was that there were almost no misunderstandings between them, everything was resolved quite quickly. There was this plotline in which JZH leaves without telling Linxi for a few months in high school. After that, there were a few episodes in which she is unable to forgive him. That was really painful to watch. While her anger at him was justified, I just wished it would get resolved asap.
The secondary leads had a much rocky story, they got together much later. Initially Chen Yi Chuan, Lin Xi's cousin is quite annoying but he matures and becomes nicer in the end. There are number of side characters which keep the story interesting. Some of them are annoying like Lin Xi's mom, but I didn't really mind, because I was so invested in the main leads story.
Overall, this is a a really wholesome love story. I loved the snippets from their wedding in the starting of the 1st couple of episodes, they were really cute.
I would totally recommend this drama to anyone who wants to watch a feel-good romance. It is cute and heart-warming and a must watch for romance fans. I really loved it and would be watching its clips on Youtube to fill the void left by it lol.

Doraemon Never Forgets

I started this drama due to all the highly rated reviews. First off, let me say that I enjoyed watching the drama and it was a solid drama until the end in which I was pleased to watch. The show had a good foundation and great cast but it could have been so much more, hence why I also want to provide my score to the mix. It was unfortunate the drama did not steer away from the usual cliches and character writing and if the drama did take its own stance from the norm, it would have been a great drama. See quick review below:

Quick Story/Plot
Similar to the summary on the MDL Page, the story talks about the FL/ML going through 3 stages of their lives having met in their final year of high school. The FL was the smartest student and the ML was the troublemarker and it is here that opposites attract. Just before the Gao Kao Test, the ML disappears due to reasons and reappears before the FL starting university. Now insert the university romance sequence and eventually to the final years to graduation. The drama does have overly used cliche tropes/events/ideas to simulate contention which made me sigh. One thing I don't agree with the Drama's MDL Page is the second half where the MCs 'find themselves on different paths and are their feelings strong enough to last a thousand life times(?)' is totally incorrect...

[SPOILERS]: The FL/ML got together really early in their university days and they became a couple supporting each other all the way to when the ML created a start-up company. They have been caring, supporting, sacrificing for each other since the beginning, so it is not ambiguous as described on the main page and therefore misleading.

Quick Acting/Cast/Characters
The show had a great cast and the acting was good, however the characters were a let down as they were tropey. There is the 'unrequited one', the 'I became vice-student-council president because I like the president one', the 'best wingman', the 'arrogant one', 'the secret admirer who wants to steal the MCs', etc. etc. With the previous, you can already have a general idea in how the characters will play out. The main crew:
- The FL is the smartest brightest student in the region and is always number 1. Being class president for the final year in HS, she comes to meet the ML who is a recent transfer student and a troublemarker. Eventually, she comes to learn about the ML's situation, what he is doing outside of school and got to know him better. From there, she fell for him.
- The ML is a troublemaker for the school and is last place in the class. However, he is often misunderstood/misrepresented and is actually quite smart in Mathematics and Programming. Since the Gao Kao does not test any CompScience subjects, often he is referred to as being dumb. That is until he enters university and becomes the top student.
- Chen Yi Chuan is the cousin of the FL and is often arrogant. He always places 2nd after the FL and has a very competitve spirit. He is like the friend that is always there to shake up the situation.
- Gu Xiao Man is the FL's best friend and has been secretly admiring CYC since the beginning. The whole world knows this, just not CYC.
- Zhang Huai Wu - best supporting character to fill the void.
- Qin Yue is the family friend who has been secretly admiring the FL for a long time. You know it, he is the one that will fight over the FL.
- Duan Ning - best wingman, not for the ML, but for GXM actually.

Music/OSTs
There is this 1 notable song/background track that I liked. I don't remember the OSTs actually being played alot during the show.

Rewatch Value
Only watch for some parts. Many of the scenes can be skipped as it did not provide much.

Why my rating (7)
My personal rating for the show was 7.5, but honestly it is hovering around a 7.2 . The show was enjoyable and I looked forward to knowing what would occur next, however the problematic events, relationship issues and how the situations were handled made me drop points. I saw other articles and comments saying the MCs relationship was not toxic/mature in which I totally agree, however the problems they had to deal with made no sense and was toxic. I am very glad that the MCs understand, support and care for each other and work together maturely to resolve the issues when they are only in their early 20s. They don't suspect each other and will open up when they feel the timing is appropriate. BUT it is the misc. side characters that make me question the writer team's intentions. You made such a great couple and friend group only to be surrounded by id*t villian side characters which made the whole situation out of place. (E.g. During the leak scandal, the company shut out the ML and the student newspaper gang came to have a mouth off after jumping on the hate train and then starts slandering the FL...I mean what??) That said, if you can overlook the cliche events and side characters, the drama was definitely a worth-while watch. I think alot of people rated the drama highly for the MC Ship, which I totally agree, but the plot/story was definitely lacking to the point where I cannot overlook for my rating. Show will not be on my top 10, but would definitely recommend giving it a try.

An amazing start but a disappointing second part

I got really attached to this show because the first 10 episodes were absolutely incredible.
But i have to admit that i spent the rest of it just speeding through the story. Hence the final rating. Which im still conflicted about.
First part : 10/10
Second part : 5/10

- the characters were classic c-drama cliches for the most part. And its very confusing because the main leads are very different. They're more mature, more realistic, portrayed with much more care and subtlety than the rest of the charcters. So as long as it focuses on them, the show is amazing but the side plots and interactions are pretty blend and mainstream. Its like the main leads story and the rest were not written by the same person.

The FL is strong-willed but calm and resilient and she doesnt loose her independence and personality even when madly in love unlike many c-drama heroines.
The ML is not the typical save-your-princess guy, he cares about her so much and shows it but leaves her space to be and breathe and that's extremely rare in a c-drama.

-THEIR CHEMISTRY is out of this world. Its absolutely crazy, i did not cringe at all because while having many sweet moments, it just seemed to obvious and relaxing.
The FL didnt end up with wide eyes and a surprised face captured in slow-motion eveytime they had a physical contact.

- Now the problematic part is the story.
The first part is absolutely adorable. The way they meet and discover each other and get closer is extremely sweet and its also a real friendship before being a love story. The FL is portrayed as being very strong willed and honest even at a young age and they both have a very moving sincerity towards each other.
And there's a little bit of "them against the rest of the world" vibe .
But a lot a cliffhangers left unanswered in the highschool part don't really get a follow-up in the second part of the drama.

Their love story is actually steady , which i liked . They did not go through 4083 beak ups and plot twists and im glad they didn't because it usually makes the story totally unrealistic .
BUT if the romance is steady, then you gotta have a story.
And I've looked for it but im still not sure where it's supposed to be. Its nice to see a sweet couple on screen, but you don't need 28 episodes for that.

For the most part, they go to class and date. That's great and you could somehow say that it might be more realistic that way but because it only includes a few years of their life, we don't really get to see growth and real relationship hurdles. And it found it boring .

So an amazing start, a crazy chemistry but no story in the second part, so i kinda felt disappointed.

Highly recommended drama

Seriously this drama so highly recommended!!

I've never rated 10/10 from any dramas I've watched.

This drama is full of reality. There are many positive values that can be taken from this drama, life experiences from adolescence to adulthood.

Male main role comes from a poor family but smart, independent, hardworking, responsible and very loving and appreciative of his girlfriend.

Female main role is a newcomer artist, but the role is performed well.

The main couple presents lots of romance but not excessively and makes the heart beat-devar. They are true love. Both of them support each other and do not give up on their relationship despite the many obstacles that arise.

In this drama Wang An Yu's hair is slightly shaved, but his face still shines handsome.
