HY and JJ is perfect fit

What SO and JJ feel for each other was just a puppy love.they were both immature and scared to open up with each other. Its harder for JJ since she have no one to ask guidance about thise kind of things ,SO atleast have HY but JJ literally have no one. I dont really like the love triangle among friends, maybe thats why i don't approve SO to be in a relationship with JJ.since it's SO who comes out of no where and starts chasing after the girl whom his bestfriend has been chasing for god knows how long in the first place. He's the one who ruined their friendship. SO kept on yelling and telling her that she likes him and boss JJ around regarding that matter that made her confuse to her own feelings. She's feeling that way because she knows that its all her fault, she's guilty. But for me it's not right. He can least let her say what she truly feels than saying things that based on his own hunch. How can she explain herself if SO won't believe her in any ways. Not being able to accept rejection is kinda immature.HY in the other hand makes a move when JJ was in her miserable days. Its the love that won't pressure you on liking him back. It's pure. He don't dictate her feeling and just letting her be.Its a mature love.Maybe there's less fun moments but the sincerity and comfort was there.just being with each other makes them the happiest. When one of them was having a hard time or not doing well at all they'll unknowingly go to each other or meet at the middle.Meanwhile if it's SO and JJ,one of them will run away and longer the gap with each other. Not because that person is inconsiderate but because being far away with the other one brings much more comfort. Love is like rowing on a boat.If one of any of the sides stop moving it won't bring you at right path and will eventually get lost. It's either both of you will make a move or none at all. For me HY and JJ is a perfect fit.

THE TRUTH BEHIND THE DRAMA - EXPLAINED! PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ ;)

Hi guys!
I see that many are disappointed that Kim Jojo did not end up with Sun Oh. I wanted her to see Hye young's real love for her and I also wanted her to think about what she felt. Who makes her heart flutter?

SO THIS IS THE EXPLAINING OF THE DRAMA:
1. In the first season, in the first episode Jojo and Sun Oh kissed. Why did they kiss when she already had a boyfriend?
--> Well she did not like her boyfriend she had then. Even when she had a boyfriend he didn't make it up to her. I think she still felt lonely and maybe sometimes invisible.
--> Sun Oh is a playboy. He had his eyes on Juju and kissed her, but before that Sun Oh complimented her. Juju fell for him and she starts to like him. She felt seen by him and he made her happy.
2. She breaks up with Sun Oh.
--> The real reason is accidant with her mom and dad. She survived and left her parents to die. We can also see it from another perspective. The other perspective is that even when her parents wanted to end their life and their daughter's life, she thankfully survived.
--> There are some other reasons as well, but those are mentioned in the second season of "Love Alarm". She did it because of Sun Oh's happiness, because of sincerely for Hye Young and because of her life (Her aunt and cousin complaining).
3. In the second season she ends up with Lee Hye Young.
--> She likes him and knows that without the love alarm ringing.

THE MESSAGE OF THE DRAMA:
* The drama shows us what technologic really can do. It can causes problems. I the "Love Alarm" world people do not even say "I love you". The word love and your feelings have been something connected to an app.
--> She was together with Sun Oh because they kissed. --> Her heart fluttered. BUT THAT DO NOT MEAN SHE LOVED HIM! Guys, think by yourselves. How many timed do your heart flutter when you see a handsome guy or pretty girl. Even people who are together looking are looking at people and maybe make their heart flutter? -->The love alarm rang on both's phone. --> they become a couple.
BUT in the second season, she likes (WITHOUT THE LOVE ALARM APP) Lee Hye Kyung. And he likes her. This is how it was before the love alarm app, how it is today in the world and how it should be. That is what Cheon Duk Goo (The developer of the app) is saying at the end of season two.

The last episode explained the truth of the drama. Please watch it and reason to what they say:

THIS IS ALL I HAVE IN MY MIND RIGHT NOW. I AM THANKFUL YOU TOOK YOUR TIME TO READ. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION LETS HAVE A CONVERSATION IN THE COMMENTS :)

P.S. I UNDERSTAND ALL OF SUN OH'S FANS, BUT HE GOT HIS LESSON OF HOW THE WORLD IS AND WHAT LOVE MEANS.

very disappointed with season 2

very disappointed with season 2
it seems absurd to me how it ended plus season 2 had no relevance, no emotion transmitted, the end I do not say ... you mean that if someone loves us and we do not love him should we accept only because he loves us? absurd
I was looking forward to this new season, I really liked the first season but it didn't make any sense, nothing concrete, nothing connected.plus everyone was left with a water person who doesn't love her and I don't understand why ?? this is love? to sit next to a person you don't love and suffer in silence? Is that what the film wants to teach us?

Watch Netflix The One instead

Watch superior The One instead. Similar concept but void of typical drama limitations.

Netflix was pushing Love Alarm on me so I watched S1 before the S2 drop and got bored. FL is annoying, classic drama Mary Sue - overachieving orphan/poor girl that the hottest, richest guy in school inexplicably falls in love with even though she's supremely obnoxious and totally average (the actress lack of chin is distracting). I don't know why this girl is such a big star (I see she's in that River show that had a recast scandal recently).

ML is a classic drama Gary Stu - rich, unhappy with mommy/daddy issues, super hot so everyone falls in love with him (cue ridiculous scenes of girls swooning). But at least Song Kang earns his star status unlike FL. See I bothered to learn his name, I didn't bother with hers.

Love triangle is a drag and one can see from miles away how the story would end (read: not how it should which is ML and 2d ML getting together since their bromance is the only thing that really works).

Underwhelming, predictable, forgettable and dull.

Confusing & Weird Happiness ~,~

I loved this season too but at the last 2 episode I was crying a river. ~,~
The main thing is I was crying a lot and ofc I was afraid about the ending..because I had reasons why I was crying like a baby with confused feelings..
⚠️No.1: I was upset a bit about Joo never considered Sunoh feelings, but at the same I was happy because everyone at the end was happy and they opened a new chapter in their life..
⚠️No2: I was full of hope about Sunoh and JoJo love story, but they just say goodbye to each other..
⚠️No3: I was happy to JoJo and Hye Young love story.
⚠️No4: I dreamed of Gulmi and Dokgu's love story, but they didn't come together. ㅜ.ㅜ
and more.. By the way the happy ending was totally happy ending I mean everyone was ending their old stories and everyone opened a new chapter in their life. So yeah it was kinda a good happy ending for everyone.
So yeah I loved the ending scene. It was such a beautiful thing. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Also all of the music was amazing like always and it makes the series more emotional, so yeaaaaah I din't regret to start the Love Alarm Season 2. (∪ ◡ ∪)

Best K-drama love story

I can’t express how much love I have for this drama because it depicts two very different realistic relationship. It also educates on how to love and what genuine love is. True love is about being there for one another during their vulnerable times, being able to open up and be honest and upfront to one another. Many have complained about the lack of chemistry between Jojo and Hye Yeong but for me the chemistry is overflowing and Jojo was clearly happier with Hye Yeong and their relationship exudes maturity, stability and calamity something Jojo wants and needs. I can never comprehend why this beautiful series including the actor are getting so much hate over the ending. Many have pointed out about the tardy plot line but in the end it all boils down to the fact that Jojo did not choose Sun Oh.

The OST for this drama is so good that I’m sad over the fact that they have not released a full album on streaming platforms. I have rewatched this drama for a total of 4 times and I still can’t get over this drama and I’m really grateful for the production of this drama as it really broke the stereotype of kdramas.

I understand what they were going for, but I think it was executed poorly

Where to begin... I was one of those poor souls that was left waiting for 2 years to see the second season, and was also spoiled immediately after the first season about what the ending was going to be, so I thought I would be mentally prepared to have my heart ripped out watching it. I was not.

I understand what Love Alarm was going for. In a dystopian world, almost paralleling today's age of digital dating, it's hard to fall in love organically anymore. We rely on cryptic text messages and online dating profiles to determine who we're supposed to love, instead of relying on our own intuition, our own feelings and heart. Given a shield, she was able to choose who she truly loved without a confusing love Alarm ringing all the time. I think it's important to consider that you can love many people to varying degrees. Since her Love Alarm told her to love Sun Oh, she has no choice but to believe it. But Love Alarm strips them of their freedom to choose who they love, and strips them of their will to fight for someone who doesn't ring yours. So, with that in mind, I understand why they decided that Hae Young was ultimately the person she chose over Sun Oh.

That said... I really disliked the way they went about trying to portray this message. What irked me the VERY most, was Duk Goo. If it was supposed to be a truly organic love between JoJo and Hae Young, then he wouldn't have gotten involved at all. By giving her the shield and the spear, he's essentially playing cupid and fate to get them to fall in love. His reasoning of how it gave her the opportunity to see that she would love Hae Young imo was just stupid. If she was meant to fall in love with Hae Young, she would have. She and Sun Oh would have organically broken up because she was too young/scared/etc... and she would have naturally found comfort in Hae Young and realize that he was the one she truly felt comfortable with.

Frustrations:
- JoJo - girl, why didn't you just tell him you had the shield once you regret it?!
- Sun Oh lost his best friend AND girlfriend at once. I felt like he deserved a better explanation from them.
- I'm sorry, but I saw very little chemistry between Hae Young and JoJo

Pros:
- Sun Oh and JoJo were both broken people, and found comfort in each other, but weren't able to heal each other. That was a powerful message to send.
- I think Yook Jo was a perfect character for Sun Oh. I'm truly happy for her and their ending
- I think Hae Young is a great guy, and I am also happy he got the girl (that his best friend kinda stole from him in the first place lets be real)
- The consistency of the cherry blossoms + red whatever (telephone booth, mailbox, bus shelter) - that's when I knew Hae Young was the one.

All that said, my k-drama heart wished that Sun Oh and JoJo ended up together, and my heart is broken, but I did my best to take my personal attachments out of the bigger picture of this story, and hopefully that will give me the consolation I'll need going forward.

JJ's happy, I guess

I try to avoid spoilers when reviewing, but not this time so watch out. Also, I put off watching S2 because the ending was spoiled for me, but I finally got around to it.

Problems with S2:
-Everything felt rushed and fast-paced in places because it was only 6 episodes. I would have liked to see more, but I don't want to go through another season of JJ being confused by her own feelings again. It gets old.
-SO gets treated like HY in S1: you barely see him, and when you do, he's upset because JJ is in a relationship
-JJ's communication issues are worse now. HY is now her boyfriend, but she doesn't tell him about the shield. She just lets him think he's in a one-sided relationship, and it's really sad to watch. Whenever he rings her alarm, I just feel bad for him.
-The afterthought that is Brian Cheon and the whole Ringing World subplot. I didn't care for it. Focus on the romance or focus on the moral implications of Love Alarm. You can't develop both in just 6 episodes.
-Spear: Why tf couldn't he just take off the shield? I know the spear represents her autonomy/her ability to chose the ONE she loves instead of having technology tell her EVERYONE she loves/could love, but still. I guess a plot device will always just be a plot device.

About the endgame relationship:
Rewatching the first season before starting this, knowing she'll end up with HY, really changed my perception of S1 and her relationship with SO. It was so toxic, the only reason I rooted for them was because Song Kang is so damn handsome and such a great actor. He's selfish and stalkerish throughout the whole season and he has no respect for his best friend's feelings. It's horrible. It's good that they broke up because S2 shows that they're better for it.
JJ and HY's relationship: It's still a little messed up, and kinda toxic on her part, but it's a more mature, slow burn that gets better as they go along. I loved the photo scene in the beginning. Their relationship just feels more secure and lasting than anything she had with SO.

Everyone's Wrong

Listen, I don't care what ya'll say. This drama was beautiful. When I watch a drama, most of the time the main comments are all talking about the second lead and how he's perfect, for example True Beauty. Most of the comments on that show were talking about how Han Seojun deserved better. Well, all my second lead fans, this is a drama where the second lead literally got the girl in the end. I'm gonna be honest. The shows that always get the highest ratings are never my favorite. It's the shows like these that always get my attention in the end, thoughtful and patient shows that paint a natural and realistic image of love like this show. Lee He Yeong is compassionate and supportive to the end. He never forces his feelings on her like Sun Oh. Sun Oh throughout the series is nothing, but a big jerk. Within the first episode of the first season, he goes after the girl his best friend likes, he gives up Jojo to the boyfriend she was clearly hiding from and uncomfortable with (He Yeong would never do that), and kisses her without getting her consent when she clearly doesn't want to. In season 2, this show reveals its true colors and it made me love it so more. It showed that having a healthy basis for companionship can be a great place to start a love story, that giving each other time and space is more important than rushing in and feeling overwhelmed by emotions all at once. They never fight, they're not toxic and also, why does Jojo have to think about a guy she broke up with's feelings. She clearly doesn't want to be in a relationship with him and Sun Oh keeps pressuring her. That is some creepy ass behavior. Still, He Yeong is still they're despite everything supporting her and allowing her to be comfortable with him. The acting feels pretty natural as well and Kim So Hyun plays a pretty good damaged girl. I truly do hate the guy who plays Sun Oh now which just shows how good his acting is as well. The music is good as well and deserves some praise. It hits a nice balance between emotive and popular. All in all, I would and am rewatching this drama again.

A lot of people missed the entire purpose of the drama because they were so focused on jojo ending up with Sun-oh. It was never really about the relationships but the message about love itself and how it can be perceived and change and it sucks that people are saying the show sucks now because they didn't ended up together.

This drama is quite realistic, it's doesn't go with the romantic happy go lucky kind of kdrama direction. They also explained why Jojo broke up with Sunho but not sure why many are still clueless on this part. Jojo and Sunho are first love, one with passion and lacking maturity plus, Jojo couldn't overcome her trauma and personal issue and decided to run away from Sunho for fear of hurting herself if bad things happen to him or their relationship. 4 years past and it seems like Jojo still have feelings for Sunho but in reality, those are just memories that she clings onto. It is missing a strong foundation to begin with as compared to Hyeong which changed Jojo bit by bit and eventually touched her heart. As you mature, what you want for love tends to change and Hyeong and Jojo's love is built with a foundation that many didn't notice, if you think about the little things he did, it matters and it build Jojo's confidence as a person. However, I think S1 has better pace than S2. Still, it's an enjoyable drama.

The drama isn't about who Jojo end up with, but how the choice is hers and not based unseen force

I've never written a review of a drama before, but after skimming some of the comments and other reviews I decided to just go for it.

While I understand how the second season may come as a disappointment or be confusing for some people, I have to say that I actually really liked it. I was looking forward to watching it for more than a year, but when it dropped I was swarmed in work and projects, so I ended up binging it yesterday. In the lights of that, I must say how difficult it was processing everything.

While I certainly didn't expect such ending or development, I must say that it makes perfect sense to me. The love triangle usually is such a boring, overused trope, but what I loved here was how Jojo had to work through her feelings first and not only her but Sun-oh, too. They proved something I rarely see in Asian dramas - that just love is not always enough. Hye Young is maybe the most consistent character - going through so much just to be with Jojo. What I did found unrealistic though was how easily and fast was held the conversation between Jojo and Sun Oh.

In my opinion the drama wasn't so much about who Jojo would end up with, but how the choice is purely ours and based on respect and consistency not on some unseen force (be it even a love alarm).

One of the most admirable things about the drama is the character development (while remaining some consistency of character) of Gul Mi (Jojo's cousin) and Jung Mi Mi (Sun's mother). In that aspect I definitely wish there was more plot and story. Really wish there was more to the story line of Duk Goo.
