Wallah a drama has never made me this angry before, I regret not dropping it, I have never written a review before but I had to for this drama because it was so garbage. The male lead has a crush on the female lead the whole time but the thought of liking the male lead didn't even come to the female lead's mind until the 26TH EPISODE (OUT OF 36 EPISODES). This show feels like I'm watching from the second lead's point of view because he is trying too hard and this girl just doesn't care for his efforts. Tell me why there are no cute scenes of them together officially as a couple,?? I'll tell you why BECAUSE THEY GET TOGETHER ON THE LAST EPISODE AT THE LAST 10 MINUTES. I've never seen a show where the female lead thirsts for a side character for so long, for like 20 episodes she has a crush on a side character. I watched edits thinking there were cute moments of them as a couple, but all those moments in the edits were just him having a crush on her and her just thinking of him as a brother. They shouldn't have held out so long on the female lead being attracted to the male lead and they should've included cute moments of them officially as a couple. I wish I could be who I was before I started this show, I'm not even getting into the side couples yet, this was a big waste of time everything was just so wrong about this show.Was this review helpful to you?
this drama should be awarded 1st for this year
i watched this drama a month ago and this is the best drama i have watched in this year. totally a realistic story written out and shown. It shows the reality and mistakes of life and regrets. This drama is so simple yet shows every ups and downs of life that we can relate to ourselves. Totally recommend you this drama. also i was crying in mess while watching the last episode and some parts were funny too.the way cheng lang looked at lin you was fulll of love . after many years when he saw linyo he was just as innocent and the soft guy and the way he starred at lin you was so adorable and love can be seen from his eyes but a regret too.

One of my all time favorite dramas
I keep coming back to this, it all just flows so naturally and beautifully! Love the rhythm and specially the characters development. The actors did an AMAZING job, and it wouldn't be the same without them.Although I do like the story, the reason this drama is so special to me is that you really believe in all relationships and personalities. They grow up and change, but all changes are just natural and you care about them.
Ok, I'm gonna say it: Lu Shi Yi made this drama my fav. I fell for him like I did for Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice - slowly but strongly. The actor gives so much personality and truth you cannot not like him.
Of course, not everything is perfect. In my rewatches I skip parts from the two other couples, which I really couldn't care less, but the first time I watched it made perfect sense for them to exist, and they did make the story overall seem more realistic (you'll know why when you watch it. - DO WATCH IT).

Enjoyable Youth drama mixing Friendship and Love
The drama tells the journey of a band of friends from last year of high school to University and work life for some of them.1/ STORY:
The story is nice and a good balance between friendship and love. The unrequited love part is the most important anyway and it is a little hard to take but the good thing is that no matter how disappointed the characters can be regarding their Love situtation, they don't forget to be understanding and to support their friends and help them go through difficult and tough moments. All the episodes go at a good pace and make the drama a roller coaster of emotions. It is really heartwarming and fun and emotional.
The ending is disappointing though. It feels rushed and the writers mismanaged the time. They left 2episode to tell the events of them meeting again. They basically threw the two leads together in a maelstom of situations not cute nor very enjoyable and closed the story with a far-fetched cranky manner. Happy ending anyway.
2/ CHARACTERS:
- Lu Shi Yi : a troublemaker at first but grows into a reliable friend and he is allways true to his feelings. It is like he never doubted them and he was always there for the FL.
- Xia Xiao Ju : Pathetic at times but adorable in her efforts to pursue her love. Loved her bickering with the ML. She is lucky he is a patient guy because most guys would have never waited so long for her.
- Cheng Lang : Mr perfect but he has a sad part. He is as great judgement in friendship as he has bad judgement in Love.
- Lin You : She could have been the worst and she is quite annoying in her Love relationships but she is also honest in friendship. She has an interesting trajectory.
- Qiu Le Tao : Looks the plain and bland girl at first but it is all the contrary. She would not be given the stick easily. Loved how things ended for her.
- Huang Jun: Great friend. Bad Lover. Didn't like how he hid things and found excuses.
- Bao Xiang Xiang : chubby dumb guy turned into a boss.
Supporting characters were fun for most of them.
3/ OST:
It was OK. Nothing annoying. Just well adapted to the scenes.
4/ REWATCH WALUE:
It was better than expected and the drama is a roller coster of emotions. But the love triangles last very long. It would prevent people to rewatch.
5/ OVERALL:
It was good. Each episode is fast paced entertaining and you always want to know what happens next. The ending is too rushed and lacklustre because we don't see what sparkle finally put them together. It like they all schemed against the FL so she has to make her choice. But ok, it is a good watch.

must watch drama in 2021
it's just good. and when you start watching it, you'll know what I mean. you'll binge-watch it and won't be able to stop yourself once you started. CHILDHOOD FRIENDS COMING OF AGE TOGETHER
This is such a great show set in the 90s.Production wise- clothing and set designs were done well. The nostalgia value was through the roof for me.
The cast was UGH!!! so fracking good. Some of the acting from a non FL was a bit annoying but bearable. I appreciated the character developments and how identifiable the stores were. Everyone's had a crush, everyone's been there for a friend, everyone's had a breakup, and hopefully everyone has or will find a circle of friends that grow and graduate life with you .
All your emotions will be stirred- its not happy all the time, which I truly appreciated.
I don't like inputting spoilers- worth the watch for sure!
Last mention- I'm such a sucker for Richards but c'mon.... he really delivers here. My heart flutters everytime he smiles LOL

Now one of my favorite dramas
I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this story, especially during the funny moments. The storyline is thought provoking and for those of us who are older, makes one reminisce those younger days. If you have watched Go Ahead, it has a similar feeling of family.The lead characters did a great job in making their roles so real. I was pleased to see Wang Rui Chang again, after seeing him in The Long Ballad. I think strong roles are his forte.
I highly recommend adding this drama to your watchlist.

Not for me
College life stretched too much ,one is pursuing other in whole drama . Middle of the drama three couples had been shown ,one got their love story other two were struggling for their love . Then the one who became couple ,due to misunderstanding or you can say miscommunication or you can say not give much attention to the relationship and they separated but male didn't give up ,now second lead story started and first leads still friend . The second leads got separated as one had to fulfill their dream , second last episode first lead love story got the meaning and very end they got together . Other than this the same student life trouble to choosing their field had been shown.Nothing new ,bored drama
But acting was good.

How sad of outcome
So the scumbag Lu Shi Yi got the girl. I don’t think the director, producers and screenwriter set out to portrait this type of abusive relationship but rather to continue to promote that bullying, belittling a woman is acceptable behavior. In this type of abusive relationship the women end up being a helpless victim.Xia Xiao Ju friends failed her miserably, they witness the bullying but stood by and never intervene, specially her best friend Qiu Le Tao that did nothing to stop the bullying but even encourage Xiao Ju to accept Lu Shi Yi as her boyfriend. Qiu Le Tao a woman that will never put up to this type of abuse and understood that a life with Huang Jun will be a life of betrayal so she sacrificed her love and opted for a safer relationship.
A final blow to Xia Xiao Ju self-esteem was when she had dinner with Cheng Lang and asked him if he ever liked her even a little. Cheng Lang didn’t even answer her just to say that he like her very much as a friend. But then again what is to expect from Cheng Lang? An introvert individual only concerned with his studies and later with work, happy to just have in his life a souvenir picture of his ex-girlfriend.
Lu Shi Yi, an individual with an unconscious hatred for women that found an easy prey in the happy-go-lucky Xiao Ju. He endless bullied, harassed, stalked, and belittled Xiao Ju and managed to quash her boyfriend prospects when successfully chased away her classmate. I must say from all the bullying to girls and women that I see in many of these dramas, this one takes the cake, when Lu Shi Yi pushed Xiao Ju down the stairs.
Xia Xiao Ju that fought with her mother and succeeds for her to have an equal footing in her family household, she end up with little options and prospects and succumbed to society pressures that she must marry before certain age and accepted reluctantly (her face expression say it all) Lu Shi Yi marriage proposal. How sad of outcome.

What a series❤️ There is no intimacy like recent modern drama, no villain, no 2nd lead syndrome. You can live the life of 90s to present, they portraited it so well. I have never watch such a soothing love story in high school drama. I'm watching drama from 2017 but i have never seen any male lead to be this good.. the patience, the love, the childish nature, always smiling & cheerful no matter how much he hurt... The smile & teary eyes of the female lead are so real. She is soo cutee.My God, such a masterpiece. I'm a fan of Richard wang. But in this case, not as a bias, as a normal viewer i would like to say that, Richard wang & the female lead literally nailed it, they are so in their character..
The character of Lu Shiyi will always be remembered ❤️ Every girl need a boy like him❤️

The movie
The movie is a very nice movie for me I think it had a moral value inside the moral value I think it has is have equal love not only to one. It is the best Chinese drama I have ever watched. I will explain the story.It started when Xiao Ju move into a new town. She and her family settle down in their new house. In the evening she and her father will light up the firecracker but she was scared to light it up then she almost fell on the ground. that when she met Cheng Lang. They both were starring at each other. That's all for Episode one if you want to know more about each episode you will have to watch the movie. I won't put in details.
Xiao Ju went to her new school where she met new friends. She was in the same class as Cheng Lang and Shi Yi. Shi Yi was very mean to Xiao Ju but he is not bad indeed Shi Yi is a good guy it is just his attitude. Ok that all
If you guys are really interested to watch you may watch it because I will recommend you guys.
I gave it all full stars because I really like the acting, story and all of it.

This drama is the roller coaster of emotions and make you feel as you're part of their story
When i came across this drama i seriously didn't have that much of expectation from this but now it turns out to be one of my favorite cdrama of all the time. The story, the characters, the cinematography, ost everything about is drama is so perfect and realistic...the story and acting will hit you straight to the heart and sometimes it will make you emotional and sometimes happy and make you recollect your childhood, friendship moments...and the character development in this drama is so good and realistic specially li shiyi...he will always remains in my heart... The fact that this drama is not clingy snd just focus on realistic relationships that makes this drama even more promising... Overall a must watch drama...Was this review helpful to you?
