Romantic everlasting loves
This drama is all about love. You take it or you leave it. Dylan Wang's imposing acting makes the difference.I came to this drama after watching "Love between fairy and devil" I was quite impressed with Dylan Wang's charisma and amazing acting. There are many similarities between the two dramas but the main difference stands in the interest of the stories themselves. In "Miss the dragon" you will soon find out that what matters the most is the relationships between main characters not the storyline itself. So you may get a little bit bored and frustrated asking : where is this drama leading me ? We have really beautiful and quality scenes but will the plot get more interesting ? What do the screenwriters aim to ? Why are they focusing on relationships rather than the plot development ? Everything is just a pretext to watch main leads characters live their love surrounded by wonderful and fairylike landscapes. It's all very romantic and beautiful. That's it.
If you don't believe in everlasting love and get bored with a man's devotion and protection, this drama is certainly not for you. 4 lives and 4 deaths for the mortal girl and always the same everlasting romantic love. When the story finally comes to an end with the real plot development it becomes really goood. Episode 34 is maybe the best one. Last episode is really great too. In the firts episodes, it was really funny to make immortal Dragon King try to understand humans and behave like them. He doesn't know how to repay Liu Ying's kindness. He reads human books such as "the legend of white snake" and try to act just like it is said in the book ! How funny that was !
This show is beautiful for the eyes but lacks intense happenings. The plot is dragging too much so it's hard to rate this drama too highly. 8 is a good compromise to congatulate the actors, the Director and pointing out the great soundtrack !

Bad ending.
Spent many nights with this seri to find out that the ending terrible. The writer should stop writing. Go to do something else. I’m a super fan of a Chinese series. The story make so disappointed. The heaven god was not fair from the beginning till the end. I would said that I hate it. Waste my time. Was this review helpful to you?

Draggy
The story is ok but the story of the main leads are very very boring. I always fast forward or skip their parts. At least it gets better when this Liu Ying became a general then cultivator but the first two lives are pretty much a damsel in distress and weak character. Aside from that, I dont understand the point of having four lives and dragon king repeatedly being hurt for her. We all know that dragon king loves her. It would be better of lets say the Yin soul becomes stronger or what.Qingqing and Que Qianxun is the reason I was able to watch this up to episode 30+. They are very cute and have stronger chemistry for me haha.
10 for music because I love the theme song ehhe. For the acting, I gave 8 because of Que Qianxun, Qing qing and female lead. I definitely wont rewatch

Not fully cultivated - Had potential!
I like Bambi, believe she is a strong actress, in a sense, she always understand the assignment she's given. She's also beautiful! Dylan is handsome, and I like watching him on the screen. I couldn't understand why I just couldn't see the spark in the two. They're both beautiful and look good together! I'm only watching for them, but the love story is bland as others have said. Just what is the Dragon King fighting so hard for? What about Liu Ying was so dear to him, except that she was the first to care for him when he was injured? That development had no substance and she reincarnates over and over just to repeat without getting anywhere in the relationship. After finishing the drama, I realize Liu Ying's character isn't that fully fleshed out. She's merely a passenger in the story. Long Yan makes the decision for their love, and she's mainly unaware until the very end.The beautiful sentiment of love separated by death and reincarnation is interesting and bittersweet. But you couldn't really feel that desperation with the main characters. It's like they were just telling us without showing us. Or the performance just fell very flat.
The second couple has more spark than the main. Deng Wei (Xue Qian Xun) is a stronger actor than Dylan Wang. I believe he was able to do his part well, overshadowing Dragon King. Qing Qing played by Pan Mei Ye is a cute and loyal character, but I can't stand her sometimes when she's on the screen too long, especially her scenes with Xue Qian Xun. She's adorable but annoyingly snobby at times.
I was looking forward to this drama from the get-go! Unfortunately, it hasn't hit any expectations. The music is dreamy, and I guess one of the elements that I really like about the drama.

Epic romance
An epic love story across three lifetimes between a dragon and a mortal woman.Really enjoyed watching the second lead couple, almost as much as main couple. Whilst the female lead did a great job of portraying three different characters.
A little slow to start but quickly picks up to a really amazing Chinese drama.

Second Lead Couple carrying the show
Tbh this is my first time review about drama even this is my 1st time to watch CDrama, bcs i just kpopers and not drama loverhaha i just want to write about my oppinion from ordinary people about this drama
- MAIN LEADS REVIEWS -
actually i watch MTD is by accident, i think in early nov i just jobless and scrolled youtube and youtube reccomended me clip of "miss the dragon for liu ying and dragon king MV", not gonna lie the white snack (i thought that snack when the 1st time i saw it hahah) is attracted me so i clicked the mv and then i continued to watch MTD on youtube
i have never ever been watch XianXia Drama so i kinda amazed about the set and the CGI also the outfit all look so pretty, about story i watched ep 1 till ep 10 my review "i was like..um oke" but after ep 10 the story kinda bored and refeat in every episode about dragon king sacrified himself for liuying "for 3 lifes", kinda predictible the reasons why i said this bored bcs we will can guess it how the story will be end, i didnt see good story love from main couple
from liuying, ayu, general feng, and qingyan i chose general feng she play that role good, but for the rest character umm not really special i didnt find any different except for her outfits
for Dragon King i dont know i didnt felt his expressions sad, happy, worries, angry seems similiar to me i didnt into it in his character (its only me or not, but this is what i feel) and i questioning about where is dragon king charisma he just spent his time to protect his love but not really meaningful for me, even he always broke the rules and causes the mess in immortal world and still live well hehe, except his visual, i agree he is handsome maybe audiences will not feel boried to see him for along time on the screen
- SECOND LEAD REVIEWS -
as what i said i watched this by accident and didnt put any expectation for the actors or actress but after ep 10, 2nd lead couple more interesting than the ML not try to shaddy this is honest review
their development is going to climax, from unknown to be lover this is what audiences need i think
Lord Pavillion characters is strong, bold and charisma maybe in the early ep he just have flat face but after that his expressions is amazing i felt what he felt, angry, sad, worries especially his eyes contact with qing qing wow this makes me goosebumbs
his micro expressions is delevered well to me, his acted rational and not blinded by love
the peak of love when he sacrified himselt to put out the strings makes me aww he so romantic and so gentle i want him (hahaha) i didnt know that MTD is his 1st drama and he is rookie actor, maybe if someone didnt told me i would thing he is veteran actor bcs for me in this drama his acting more good than dragon king
for Qing qing (im a girl so sometimes i dont like girl who act like child or annoyin/chrippy girl) but for me Pan Mei ye acted Qingf qing well (not really childist but balance) usually i will feel cringe if i watch actress act drunk or sulking but im oke while watched Qing qing sulked to lord pavilioun
and the way she realized that she love lord pavilioun is rational i mean she didnt "fall in love" in their first meet but after long time she with him, that can acceptable when Main lead love story just in love in short time (even tho they have past memories) i XunQing Couple also have past memories but they didnt fall in love so fast
my fav scenes from MTD is when Qing qing pulled out her feather while thingking about Lord pavilioun who did same way for her, i likee it
both of them have good chemistry and play so well, Lord pavilion need to wait till 300 years to kissed her lol (what a patient man) and qing qing also not easy bird haha, she is right about that, she has dignity and no easy to fall in love with someone her thoughts is on point
Second lead story and depelovment better than main lead, because Qing Qing and lord pavillion i paid WeTV to watched it lol
im looking forward for deng wei and pan mei ye new drama hope they will reunite and play in same drama again
they deserve become main lead
maybe this my review, im not good at writing and my english also kinda worst so sorry

Slightly ambiguous ending
I enjoyed this drama from beginning to end. Lonely arrogant dragon demon on a path to immortality makes the mistake of trusting and befriending the power hungry manipulative immortal of fate. He meets his destiny, but experiences road block after road block, but manages to make new friends who are true to the end.Longyan Yuchi, only surviving member of his dragon clan, is accidentally in the wrong place at the wrong time and is falsely accused of stealing a powerful ancient artifact, for which he is tried and convicted by the idiot on the heavenly emperor's throne without investigating the so called crime After a thousand years of lightening strikes, a punishment even most immortal beings could not survive, he is released and falls, injured into the mortal world. It is his lucky day as he meets a kind young woman, Luiying, who has some medical skills, who mistakes him for a small injured snake. She takes him home at the prompting of her young miss.
Grateful, he offers to marry her after he takes on his human form. He quickly realizes that it is not merely gratitude, but true love. Unaware of human, or even otherworldly relationships, he naturally makes a hash of it, but tenaciously wears her down. Unfortunately fate, or more accurately the @#0!% In charge of fate, prevents this pair from making their desires a reality until the very end, forcing these lovers to only love at a distance. Yuchi keeps his virtue to the very end, remaining by her side when ever physically possible, and protecting her from those who only want to use her soul as a power source. He has to stand by in two of her lifetimes as she marries another as circumstances make those options the only ones that will allow her to continue living a natural life span.
Eventually the conspiracy is discovered, and justice is met.
The second leads own love story is just as sweet but somewhat less heartbreaking. The bromance between the ML and SML is also sweet and hilariously funny.
Some other reviews state it is a sad ending, but I found it to be hopeful as both the leads' souls survived with the possibility of reincarnation. It just misses the mark a little on a completely satisfying happily ever after. The 6 min special implies a 5th incarnation, as the FL is addressed as Princess Liuying before she meets up with ML who complains, "What took you so long."

A Love to last centuries
I'm loving this drama as it's full excitement in love and war, it's funny, sad and sometimes you cheer when bad guy finally get caught. Then we have immortal of fate mingge xingjun who always smile and gives and get what he is needed to trade (played by Zhuzan jin who I keep waiting to be bad but he's not) Then we have Qing Qing who is a Blue bird elf and is so cute and naive with big eyes and an an adorable smile. She has a meteor mark on her farhead and hates it so she goes to immortal of fate who send her to get the string of the flute. This is where she meets the Lord of Luofang pavilion- Xue Qian xun who doesn't smile and is always ordering her around until she finally melts his cold exterior and they slowing fall in love. Then we have the Dragon king who is as faithful and caring as he follows his one and only true love thru the century of rebirth and protecting/taking care of her any way possible even if it's to borrow or take from heaven or other Lord's. She has been reborn 3 times thru the century's as: 1) Liu yang 2) Yuan A fa 3) Feng Chen yue 4)Gu. Qing yanDuring her 1st life she has found hurt blue bird who she healed and then took Human form and stayed by her side 3 century's.
She originally healed bluebird, marble the cat and dragon king. Her next life watches as the DK marries her friends in order to save her. Then we have him making her marry the emperor in order to save both of them. Then we have them almost married when lord of luofang & immortal of fate appear telling them they need to wait until she is an immortal by her 18th birthday. Then everything is out of sorts as more demons want her soul and the school helps to kill the demons. Then we have the immortal of fate that gives DK a book that Xue quin wanted to know what happened with him & QingQing. Once they read it, it seems DK stole the nunna stone(accident) in which causes Xue quin to be caught leaving his post in order to help Qing Qing who was attack by a demon so he is hit with lightning 7x and Qing Qing take the last bolt that kills her and he send her to be recarnated. Once together Xie quin kisses Qing Qing and she slips into a Coma and we find out that immortal of fate didn't tell them with a kiss will be pain/death and he was one who actually started everything the moment DK wanted to protect Liu yang life.and soul. He has her born to be a princess in order to marry the emporer as nourishment for the soul and power, then he has born into a military family to be strong and knowledge and finally to cultivate immortality at the kunlan sect for a purer soul. With her soul taken he will be powerful enough to take over the three realms in heaven, but not everything happens the way he wants. He takes over Xue Gian minds and has him attacked DG over and over while trying to kill him. In the meantime the immortal of fate tosses up the soul taker and pulls Qing yan in as working then DK falls to the ground dying she becomes alert and gives him her soul and then colasp to the ground. DK is now really pissed off and takes his revenge on the immortal and heaven. You need to watch and fill in all the missing excitement and drama not noted above.

Pleasantly surprised.
I just finished watching MISS THE DRAGON. I was expecting something similar to Legend of the White Snake but this one was 10 times better. Idk why people thought it was boring. Or that they liked the secondary characters better. They were cute but the main characters and storyline were excellent. I don’t watch a lot of Cdramas, esp the fantasy kind but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The CGI was pretty decent. I love the scenery used. Dylan Wang being young didn’t take away from his character. He played the Dragon King well and completely absorbed that persona. The ending was a bit rushed and confusing but I still liked it.Was this review helpful to you?

Too much
This drama felt like four separate dramas, which is just too much.Lets start off with the things I liked:
- visually beautiful
- the cast is not too bad
- the dragon king was fun to watch
- the second couple was the saving grace of this drama. Their story was coherent and the way they gradually and naturally fell in love was fun to watch
- the first life is fun to watch
- the third life was also interesting
Things I didn't like:
- the female lead was four completely different people in all her lives, so there was a disconnect. She looked like the same person, but her personality was completely different, making it hard to make a connection between the original girl that met and fell in love with the dragon.
- lots of cliches and previously done storylines
- the chemistry between the main leads was almost non existant. Not sure if it's the writing, making the female fall in love with the male lead over and over again in 4 lives or just the fact that the actors didn't have any chemistry to begin with
- repetitive and predictable storyline
All in all, it's not too bad, but there are many dramas out there that are much better.

Season 2
I didn’t like the sad eding of the story. It was heartbroken for me and also depressive because I was so attached with their emotions. The characters were very real to me. There is a proverb, "patience is better but their fruit is sweet". Mr. Dragon waited till four reincarnation for getting their SOUL UNITED by GETTING MARRIED with the heavenly blessings. The ending was like their soul was nearby but their union was not fulfilled. What's the point of their staying close with each other without getting married! They have waited for so long! So much patience! And they could not fulfil their dream of getting together and giving birth to children as the sign of their celestial love!!The immortal of fate was corrupted but the heaven Supported his evil deeds and did not give Justice to Mr. Dragon! What kind of an unfavourable injustice this is? Does heaven ever make any fault in making judgements? Mr. Dragon should have got Justice. He should have gotten a respected job in heaven, immortality along with his lover and got married in an earthly way, should have brought out sign of love. His character should have been successful but he was given injustice.
The drama could have been finished beautifully when Yuchi was with general feng because she is a strong lady not like the other girls. And instead of Becoming strength, Mr. Dragon's girlfriend has become his weakness. She should have been smart and strong and fought along with Yuchi to bring out the real face of the traitor, finish him and get Justice from the heaven because heaven never does injustice to anyone. So, ehy should they die!
Season 2 should be made and their love story should be presented with a happy, strong and confident ending along with women empowerment. This time Yuchi, Liyuing and the immortal of fate should be reincarnated and Justice should be done to make the drama get a successful ending with detailed activities and fighting scenery.

Light entertainment
Perhaps it's because I'm new to C-dramas and Xianxia, but I don't get all the negativity about this show. Yes, the script is iffy with plot holes everywhere and a lot of repetition, barely justified by the fact that we see the main female character going through four different lifetimes with recurrent elements in each one of them. However, I found this drama entertaining for the most part. It's fantasy after all... does it need to make perfect sense? More attention to detail would have made a big difference though. The acting is a bit stiff to start with but it evolves throughout the story and it isn't nearly as bad as I was made to believe. I imagine that was how the actors were asked to portray their characters. I came here after watching Love Between Fairy and Devil and I can see glances of Dylan Wang's Dongfang Qing Cang in his portrayal of Yuchi Longyan, aka the Dragon King. The second storyline involving another couple's love story could have been interesting but it dragged on for too long without giving us much information. I liked the character of Xue Qian Xun [Lord of Luofeng Pavillion] but his counterpart Qing Qing came across as childish and a little bit irritating at times.
I thought that I wouldn't enjoy the third story arc when the female lead is a General. The idea of a war, political plotting and fighting wasn't that appealing to me... But this part became my favourite in terms of the storyline and the acting. I think they should have ended the drama after that somehow. Instead, we're dragged into yet another life that was supposed to show us a superior level on the "cultivation" journey of this woman's soul but rather felt like a regression to the first, naive incarnation of herself.
The visual effects and characterization aren't the best, especially compared to those of LBFAD (since I don't have much else to compare it with). Some of the early fight scenes remind me of a video game when you chose a weapon to unlock powers while the character stands stills doing nothing. But this story is based on a video game after all.
It's unlikely that I would rush to watch it again. I'm sure there are better fantasy stories waiting for me in Dramaland. However, if like me, you want to see more of Dylan Wang or any of the cast's work and fancy some light entertainment, give it a go - it's not terrible.
