If you want a good love story with action in the historic sense it's worth the watch

I honestly enjoyed this one, the action, the story every thing worth itHowever I'm disappointed by 3 things, the 1 can't be answered and 2 we the viewers will 'assume'1st we do not actually get to see the 2 main characters end up together as Bae suzy's characters dies and returns 400 years later pointing a gun at him saying "do you know me" when her names called (we assume they end up together)The series name is gu family book but the book is never found will it be, and will he use it (again we can only assumeAnd lastly and most annoying question is why is there a 30 seconds scene where Kang Shi meets general Lee soo shin in the modern world, it just creates an assumption of a new concept or direction or a second season of gu family book we will have to wait and see, but most likely will be disappointed as it's already 7 years and no answer

We need a 2nd season...

... called My boyfriend is a Gumiho. xD
no seriously I don't really know what to feel... I actually quite liked the ending, but it would have been better if it's somthing more simple and don't mess up the story that much in the end. but still, it was a goog series. :)

TT_TT

i cried a lot for this ending.. why do they have to kill dam yeo wol??! why? why? sniff****sniff**..i can't get over the ending..i super cried when kang chi told yeo wol that he will wait for her, he will recognize her first and he will love her first...ahhhhhhhhhh.. I wanted them to end up together.. Kang Chi waiting for 422 years is just too unimaginable for me! it hurts that the yeo wol i know died and kang chi will ed up with the reincarnated yeo wol! and the fact that it was never clear at all is really frustrating me! I hope there would be a SEASON 2 so I can get my Resolve..haist!

Gorgeous.

Many may hate the ending, but I think it was great.

He found his true love, and all his buddies. There may be a second season, but who cares if there's none. In the end they'r together and that's what counts. I was crying the whole episode. Yeah of course I want to see little Kang Chi and Yeo Wool babies, but I can always imagine those. Hurray!

For those of us dying...

The whole series was outstanding... until the end, I cried the whole time and when they suddenly skipped to modern times it was kind of expected, kind of a let-off I guess from the author but ITS NOT THE SAME! I feel like the Yeo Ul from the future is a completely different person! I was kind of hopeful though because of the way Kang Chi responds to Yeo Ul when she asks if he knows her, in the beginning a tad bit after Kang Chi asked the same to Yeo Ul he remembered her, maybe it was the same this time (even through reincarnation?) or so I vehemently hope. Overall the drama was okay, but i'm mostly just saying that because I wanted an ending with babies and them getting married, and living happily ever after.

Just Plain Cruel?

Okay I have to say I loved this drama the first 23 episodes where amazing, but like everyone else, the ending just plain shot and killed my heart.I got so attached to the main girl that when she died, I felt that her reincarnation wouldn't be the same girl, although the way she died I thought was beautiful. Other then that I loved when kang chi sliced off the evil guys hand!! I was just laughing at that part!,I truly hope they will give us a second season because the way it ended was really unfair for the views, lets just wait and see what happens

Interesting ending

I really didn’t see it coming, the whole current time thing I mean; I must say that I knew there will be Yeo Wool incarnation since Kang Chi said when we will meet again then…

But it’s unbelievable that everyone reincarnated after 422 years; plus Soon Shin and Gon came at the end; it’s like a new mission for the gumiho Kang Chi is coming; I guess this means they're setting the ground for a second season but I am not sure if it’s worth it.

Broke my heart

1-23 episode BLEW MY MIND.MASTERPIECE
24 episode BROKE MY HEART . I still can't believe that they ended this show in such a way. I can't recover from it yet.

From now on I'll only watch dramas that are completed and have a happy ending

This was TOO Much for me.
Everything about the last episode was SO SAD it literaly broke my heart into tiny pieces. I don't even want to listen to the soundtrack anymore (which by the way I LOVED) because it would remind me of the sad ending.

I can't even rewatch all the beautiful scenes between KC and YW again (which I used to watch over and over again) because it would just remind me of the sad ending .

Up until episode 23 there was hope that they would live happily ever fully in love and having a beutiful family.

But that didn't happen. At least not in their era.
And in 2013 YW reincarnated???
They could at least show as a few months later in 2013 when KC and YW's recarnation are together and having as IMAGINE what would happen.

I don't know but I can't seem to like the ending at all

LOVE and HATE (brace yourself for a long rant!)

let's start with what I hated about this episode other than it being the LAST episode *sobsob*

Okay, the stpuid taking the bullet for a goddamn divine creature!! Yes I know you don't want KC to be hurt but really YW?!! She could've have just TOLD KC and he'd obviously move out the way and protect everyone...*Rooftop Prince flashback* I was soooo annoyed at that! And who gets shot so beautifully?! And dies so beautifully?!!! There should be no exceptions - especially idols!

Also it lacked the dramaticness! Could have at least exaggerated and she leaps and takes the bullet in slow motion (if you're going for a cliches at least making it a little more dramatic!) YW hardly moved and got shot...anyways isn't KC a divine creature how come he didn't hear the musket go off and use his superspeed to stop it (GRRRRRRRRR)

lastly, Jo Gwan Joong, thats it?!! Seriously!! The losing of his hand was comical, when I asked for a little exaggeration I didn't mean him. KC literally just tapped his wrist and apparently was cut off PHAHAHAHA!! No way that was cringey! Secondly they should've gave him the most horrific death ever in drama history yet he gets to enjoy a bit of poisonous wine...not pleased - the writers were too sympathetic for him!!

And onto the LOVES...the death scene was very romantic and sad (I would've have cried buckets if Suzy'd acting hadn't gotten in the way sorry Suzy fans). MOST importantly I loved the transition to the modern era! half way through the series I had wanted such an ending - wishful thinking does work sometimes thank you dramagods! - never would've have thought they'd actually do it I was very pleased with that. For me it was definitely the better option of twisting the fate etc also loved the reincarnated characters :D!!!

...I'm not too sure on a sequel because I think it'll just be history repeating itself since they met under the tree and crescent moon *AGAIN!! WTF?!* if there is going to be a sequel then obviously "one will die" again...and this time round KC is going to be overprotective right?!(kinda like time travelling plots)

If there will be a sequel then I'll definitely watch it (liking it or not is another matter) and if they don't then I'm fine with it too. I liked the series -- what will I watch now? -- but I wasn't addicted to it.

WTF?

The ending was pure stupid, but I couldn't even analyze the stupidity of the ending because I'm still stuck on the part where our villain, who just one episode before admitted that chopping off Kang Chi's head would be the only way to kill him for good, decided that just shooting him would be enough to get rid of him. AND THEN compound that epic act of stupidity with the even grander act of stupidity of a mortal woman jumping in front of a bullet to save (?) an IMMORTAL being from, from WHAT?.... a nasty scar and a little ouchy?

You know, I've seen shows defy all logic and reason to save a character's life, but this might be the first time I've ever seen a show go so far out of its way to kill a character totally unnecessarily. What a bunch of crap.

I watched this whole drama because it was kind of fun and pretty and I love Lee Seung Gi, but it was so poorly written that I think a monkey could have done better. What a waste of actors and an interesting set up.

I cant believe that it has finished...

Gosh, I cried so much that tomorrow I will just stay at home because of my swollen eyes.. I love the ending part, I dont know why many people did not like it but It would be great if there was a second season, though... and (I know many of you will hate me for suggesting this but) the same fate, I mean for girl to die, should be lived again since they meet each other on the same place all over again.. or maybe the boy should die this time since he already lived a long time~ Ohh I wish it hadn't been finished. I want to watch 20 more episode at leastt!!

Terrible way to wrap things up

The only thing that can possibly save the ending would be to add a second season. The very ending was "creative" and I'm being generous in describing it as creative; but it offers them both a second beginning.

Final thoughts on show:

The beginning was a great introduction and the first 5-6 episodes were good, but the writing began to drive the show in to the ground for me. The supporting cast were great actors but their characters were one-dimensional and half the time served no relevance to the story.

'Gu Family Book' is an awful name for the show mainly because the actual book is hardly mentioned and is not driven into the plot.

The biggest negative is that there are too many plot devices used....it only needed two: the book and possibly his father being a demon.
