Is a phenomenal drama from ep1 to 36 never boring and a rewatch
What a great Drama and the storyline, cast were phenomenal and so was the music. The writers, producers, directors and Cast 10+10+10+. It start as a story that about a girl chu yue asleep in a wheelchair and husband xue Yao telling there story to the kids about them.Chuyue suffer from insomnia at night. So she sleeps during the day. General Xue Yao is a famous general, but due to suspicious people think he has to much power and afraid he will rebal. They make him marry Chuyue the emporer adopted dtr. This way he looses power and they can keep an eye on. So he married a comatose bride who wakes jot to happy. This is there story that sad, happy, misunderstanding and so much more. IIt about a birthstone that can tell the future, but if you change it it comes at a cost. You change 12x into different animals and upon the 12th metamorphosis you become dead and alivei forever..

Please watch Ep36! Awesome Ending!
I am very glad coz i read the comment in this page and discovered this alternate ending. At the end of ep35 i noticed the flower petal fell onto princess face and thought that she gonna wake up afterward.. but after several flashback, the ending seems like the general wanted to commit suicide at edge of the cliff instead.. i was quite frustrated with this ending...Luckily i found out that this drama got another ep36 whereby the princess did woke up and wipe the general's tears and they happily live together ever after.. funny to see princess' brother (who became the king) needs to take care the couple's son while they went on very long honeymoon.. lol.. a very satisfying ending for me.. worth rewatching thousands time..
Happy also to see another 3 couples with happy ending.. but sad to recall princess' maid who die in previous episode...
The whole storyline was properly wrapped and really hope to rewatch with proper english sub in future..
I am now officially signing as FL fan (initially decided to watch this drama due to yicheng).. not many Cdrama actress that i like & she is definitely top 5.. will definitely watch her other drama..

Gets Intense From Time To Time
Initially, I thought this was one of those mini dramas that are just fluffs that make you happy, but that wasn't the case. While it had some of those elements that make you feel giddy, it also had some pretty terrible moments.FL is such a cutie, too damn trusting for her own good. I had so much fun watching her and see her become friends with the woman who tried to hate her in the beginning. Since the moment she married the ML, she was suspected of being a mole. The ML wet out of his way to treat her poorly, let's all forget "innocent until proven guilty". When that arc was over, we got the better version of ML but he blew too hot and cold a little too fast.
In my books, the worst thing a ML/FL can do is marry another woman and be cruel to the FL/ML. That is the line I draw. This cliched marry another woman/man to protect their partner trope has been used so many times that I'm over it. It just sheds light on the imbalance between their relationship. Can the fools not trust each other and play the game together? No, instead it is better to play the other. What's worse the poor FL had to be the bridesmaid and give him away to that women and he still went through with the marriage. What a spectacle. Even before that, the ML treated FL poorly when he found out his brother's death. Yes, you are allowed time to grieve and push people away for a while, but to not trust her at all. Just the whole lack of trust dynamics makes him ill-suited for her. What's the use of all the sacrifices, when all you ever do is leave your partner behind. Wouldn't she be better off?
The later half of the drama is too depressing. With these dramas, you have to got to know, when one of the lead couple makes a promise, its bound to be broken and worst is yet to come. And it has a sad ending, which is thankfully overtaken by the special episode.

The FLs Flirtatious Final Transformation + Emotionally Unstable ML~!!
What an Up-Down Hill drama—This story by far is one of the dramas that gave me such hatred and despise over the MLs character (alongside 'The Wolf').The story is rather stagnant at first, basically dragging almost half of story into nothingness instead of building hype and providing us more watch-worthy scenes 'us' viewers can enjoy. The pacing was slow and well controlled in a way that I felt tired waiting for it to be more exciting and a bit more romantic. Everything seemed to be well planned and even manipulated to the point where I find it boring and eventually though of it as its major downfall during the first half of the story.
Male Lead is mentally unstable and was extremely weak in differentiating love and revenge /sighs/ I was disappointed on how he handle the situations often times specially when it comes to things that are heavily important to him. I mean, I understand where he's coming from BUT knowing that your brother sacrifice his life to protect the woman he loves and yet blaming that Lady for what happened is basically nuts not to mention that the Lady in mention is his Previous & Future Wife (they got divorce, so...) — and that's not it~!! He chose to do all that during their secret Marriage Ceremony and if you think that's the worst; he treated her so badly I myself felt so enraged watching it. IF you love a woman how could you blame, push and make her suffer emotionally & physically that way? Like how the hell can you fathom seeing her go through sorrow and distress infront of you? This guy is freak and seriously got some BALLS problems.
Anyways, aside from those major complaints above, the drama went quite well. Not the most light hearted one but surely provided so much laughter and warmth to me as a whole. + The Female Leads transformations are rather cute and enchanting specially her Dragon Form. Like HOLYSH*T Hu YiXuan serving top tier visuals.
This production is truly enjoyable and has been such a great experience specially during its 2nd Half and most of FLs and Prince Ning/Naxi's moments. Not to mention NanNan & LuoJi's cute romance development. Hihihi
Story - 8.5, Gonna Give this drama a rather 'okay' rating and this is highly influenced by how random and unstable the Male Lead is jumping from being so frantic into suddenly being so caring and loving. I think he's clearly suffering from bipolar disease or something. I swear, he killed the mood for me. But gonna give kudos to the director and writer for sticking to such ending. Once again proving that woman will never be less of a man.
Acting/Cast - 10, Nothing but Applause and Praises over the Actors and Actresses. I wouldn't be this mad and agitated if Zheng YeCheng performed badly. That man got great facial control and was able to summon his tears in the most unexpected and emotional way. Hu YiXuan is another spectacular actress to mention; she nailed her character so well and I just love her for that. Special mention to the other Cast specially Naxi, Prince Ning, NanNan and LuoJi. Prince Shun unfortunately needed more balls. Hehe
Music - 10, Songs are Top Tier. Not the most excellent of all but it has a great set of really fun and swaying music that clearly fits the mood of each scenes it was played on.
Rewatch Value - 8.5, It was not that bad but I would never put myself in such situation where I would watch a drama again considering I hated every minute of a scene or two because of how such an asshole the ML is. Hahaha~ I just got so much stress these days and i can't accumulate more. Nonetheless, story is still good and enjoyable to watch.
Overall - 9.0, Despite my bad take on the story and ML Character, I can never deny that it was a fantastic costume drama that not only provided those frustrating scenes but also made me feel those delightful & fleeting experience while I was watching it. This drama still got so much to offer despite how badly I highlighted some of its dragging parts.

Heartbreaking but Destinied Couple!
At first the drama has a very interesting plot.. but for some reasons, it's kinda inconsistent with too many additional characters and unnecessary situations that kinda ruin the focus of the story about the sleepless girl and her secret animal transformation. I wish to see a lot of her transformation scenes but too bad it just some side story. There's a lot of misunderstanding between couple and some reasons are quite silly and make it too draggy. However.. It's getting more interesting in the second half of the drama when the male lead is finally find about the death of his brother that related with the female lead. Trust me..just watch till episode 25 and after (especially episode 29-31).. it's not boring anymore! It's totally make your eyes teary and make your heart broken because of the couple's fate! The drama is getting back to its original interesting plot! It's a plot twist in the later part. I feel excited when they give us some unexpected truths and lies.The last battle with the main enemy is kinda too easy after a long wait, and tiring attack-escape events in the long run.
I love both main leads acting as well. Their heartbreaking tears really capturing my heart. The female lead is very cute and naughty, but she is not annoying. The male lead is totally admirable.
Overall.. this drama is good.. you just need to skip some unecessary parts, especially in the first half of drama ;)

Great story, marvelous acting
I can't remember when I was checking out this drama, but after I read somewhere about the ending, I thought I might end up wasting my time, so i decided not to watch this. But after watching unforgettable love, I love this actress, still didn't watch this then, but after watching Love under the full moon with the ML, I felt sooo sad, i went to check out his drama's and i was shocked it was him in this.. also, I saw that there is a special ending so i decided to give it a chance.This is one of the first historical drama where it was very entertaining through, I didn't find it draggy, i did skip some stuff but it was because I didn't have the heart to watch it lol.. that brings me to this next point, the acting in this was just great, apart from a few great drama's recently, I haven't found a drama which such an interesting story and great acting all around the cast, even the bad guy/girl she was too good, those were the scenes i skipped, she was way too bad for me lol her acting was soo good, it was too good i hated her character lol. The ML he did a great job as the general, from seeing him in romcom, and then this historical drama, he was soo dashing, handsome and played his role sooo well, very impressed. The FL also did a great job, especially when she went through her "special" circumstances, she did her role very well. The supporting cat was great, both the princes with different personalities were great. Even the FL maid left an impression on me.
The story was also pretty good, there were a lot of comedic moment, lots of sweet and beautiful moments and later on in the episode, the angst was just... I had to prepare myself to watch some episode. Also, tbh I felt like we needed an explanation about the ending, and the beginning of the special, but I'm not gonna complain. My rating includes how i felt after watching the special, that's why I was satisfied, I like leaving a drama satisfied, not emotional in anyway, all 35 plus the special made me feel satisfied.
It was a good watch, no regrets watching this, and that's with the special too.

I am not so into historic drama or trditional thing but the first time i watch the teaser it really pierce my heart (i am not kidding) honestly this is my first time watching chinese traditional drama, my drama playlist is always kinda like modern rom com drama and etc.
The lead actor and actress has brought me into different side view of how to enjoy this drama. From the love 020 ZYC has convince me he has different side in sleepless princess his character is really matured rather than in love 020. He's potrayed the general very well and i like his outfit i think its good too not too shabby but fit perfect and i bet his working on his muscle before?
And i have to say the director really has good eyes on picking people that suitable for their respective roles. Hu yi xuan is beautiful too i mean she has the classy look but yet she still has down to earth side i recommend to not just watch the drama but the bts, all of the actors has really great chemistry on set all of them is really playful yet charming.
For the plot like i just said before i am too lazy just to follow up the main story on this drama because i am focusing on their romance.? But xue yao 2nd marriage with that green outfit women really upset me. I even skipped their part because it really so sad and heart breaking for chu yue. I am trying to put my self on those kind of situation will i still be calm as chu yue i think i am not. Best award for her acting because she is good actress

This drama was decently good. I have a feeling that I watch it again for two reasons. One, is I did skim through from the 21st episode till the end and might have missed minor crucial details but I get the brief idea of what kinda happened.Two, it’s because it had rewatch potential. It is a good drama, the story is interesting and more or less entertaining. The love hate relationship between the leads is frustratingly annoyingly loving and when it blossom into something love and when both of them realised it. Was very swooning.
However, the kisses was rather forced and didn’t show the essence of the love that the two have finally opened up to each other. It just kinda looked that way. I mean I know they are actors and it ain’t real but the main purpose is for us the audience to feel like we literally watching a real story unfold before our very eyes. And it kinda did but the sauciness was a little disappointing because there was high expectations based on the little details here and there you pick up in the various episodes.
The male lead really suits this historical appearance and well the Actors and Actresses were well cast they all look suitable for the part. The main actress was of course adorably witty and she don’t mind acting a pig or something for her part which is great. I mean it would be great if she was a sword woman badass but she kinda still is without martial arts skills. She still was able to save everyone in the end even if it’s the cause of her own life.
The ending wasn’t necessarily happy. Kinda emotionally sad. I don’t really know what happened at the very end? Did he jump off the cliff or something with her? Or they fly up? Idk.
But the amount of flying was like wow?! It was so cool they were like able to fly here and there like nobody business then she should all be able to fly away when in a fight right? Hahaha idk how this works but they can fly and they did that a lot which was kinda amusingly cool.
The characters saving one another and when the leads were worried for one another if the other one dies or not was kinda sweet too?
The story has love, deception, betrayal kinda of a plot twist in terms of who the villain was. It has perseverance, fulfilling their dream or mission? Family and friendship. That’s nice as well.
Alright so in the end, the ending and the steaminess of the drama was disappointing but if your one that is not into those things or think they aren’t important in a drama then this drama might be for you?
I started watching these historical drama although I shunned the idea of it before and if your an amateur like me then this might be nice for you.

Very cutesy couple
Oml, the male lead I first saw in Love O2O and he had such a completely different vibe here. I would have never imagined he could play a role like this but I loved him in this drama. It’s crazy how my opinion of him completely changed. And the couple has such good chemistry they are so good together. I would have rated this drama lower if it were not for the alternate ending. I’m surprised I have never seen the female lead before, she is so cute. The story was good and the romance was cute but not overwhelmingly cutesy like some of the newer shorter historical Chinese dramasWas this review helpful to you?
There’s nothing new with the story. Two strangers get entangled accidentially, fall in love, involve in conflicts, seperate and reunite. As simple as that. But something in the way the story is told to the viewers, (imo) is really light and touching. The plot is straight to the point, no wishy washy and all the problem can be solved within 1 episode which is really logic to me. I can binge this series only for a couple of days :)
The chemistry also on point, with very very very cute couple and the beautiful relationship of having a brother/ sister that you really can depend on.
Watch this if you want to get out from your stress daily life :D

The writer was clearly sleepless when they wrote this drama
god, please give ZYC and HYX another drama to make up for this one. it started off good (although i HATEEEEEE the way they framed the story with guan shan and wan wan, made the whole story feel false as hell and took me a while to get into the drama without being put off by the fact that they’re not actually the ‘leads’. it gave the whole drama ‘it was just a dream’ vibes) and then it just went spiralling to a mess of a drama. ZYC and HYX’s chemistry is the only thing which held it together because i wanted to see more of their scenes. the latter half of was an annoying push and pull and dragged on. should have only been about 24 episodes.the contents of the story itself was alright. i expected more of her dream power to take the front seat, but only really proved significant during the last 10 episodes. episode 36 was cute tho! i’m just gonna act like that was episode 35 lol
i liked the leads’ characters, the manly general and his witty wife. i think it was enjoyable if you skipped bits but i would not watch again. 6.5/10
