Probably one of my faves now❤️

At first, I wasn't really interested in watching the series. You can say that the trailer didn't compel me enough to watch it. But since this is one of the few BL series in WeTV, I gave it a shot as I've watched everything BL there already. To cut the long story short, I FREAKING LOVE IT. As the story progresses, I was able to feel the struggle of Win's character Pai in dealing with Marc's character Itt. You can say, I was able to relate to Pai as I was in a similar situation before. You know he loves him (Itt) but the latter is just hard to deal with. But come to think of it, it speaks reality. That's just how life is sometimes. What I also like about the series is they're taking it slowly, they're building the momentum per episode not like some series they peak at a certain ep and eventually fall down. As you watch each episode, you'll want more. You'll want Pai to finally get the love he deserves. Fueled by its amazing score, you'll surely get yourself in a sentimental state from time to time. Im truly excited for what comes next. This is probably one of my faves now along with Until We Meet Again, Trapped, He's Coming to Me, DBK, Sotus 2 and Theory of Love ❤️

A little basic with some plot holes

*NO SPOILERS NOW*

STORY: I think the story is super cliché, I personally didn't mind, but the script is pretty lacking, and there's not a good development of the characters and their relationships.
Also, some people point out the slow paced story development, but I wouldn't mind if there was something worth it in it. How can there be so many episodes before they realize they like each other and everything else, but nothing interesting happens in that time? It can take time, but make it worth it. I don't even buy Itt liking Pai..

ACTING: Considering that the script is not the best, the story would have needed really good actors to portray what was poorly written in the script, but tbh the actors are not that good. There were a lot of moments when the camera was focusing on their faces, but the emotions weren't there, it's hard to feel connected to their feelings. Their chemistry was off sometimes too.
The best out of the actors are JJ (Waan) and Fiat (Pure)

I think GGMTV is putting less and less effort everytime. Little budget, rookie actors who are obviously handsome (Idk what's the point, to pay them little money?) and cliché stories that could be written by anyone , even the locations are always the same.

*WITH SPOILERS NOW*

STORY: It's ridiculous how 90% of the problems in the show could have been solved by just talking and communicating. I know people irl are a little like that too, but seriously? I still don't get how Itt stays by Pai's side by helping and taking care of him in the dark but is not capable of talking to him face to face to clarify he's not angry at him nor does he hate him. What's the point? I don't even talk about saying he likes him, but why would you just act like and asshole to him (even tho he has good intentions), but not explain absolutely anything ¿?

Another point is that we can't see when and how Itt starts liking Pai. The acting is more obvious on Pai's case, but Itt? Not his dialogues, nor his face or eyes say a thing. Then he acts all angry when he finds out about the classroom, doesn't talk to him for months, and then suddenly appears, helps him and likes him? "he was never angry" says waan, then what was that all about? And why didn't he say something?

Pretty Forgettable

I read one review that sums this series up really nicely; "Had this series come out a few years ago, it would've been really good. But we've on from this. We're better than this." I love that quote, and from now on that's what I'll say when I feel like I've been pulled back into 2017. The series would've been that bitch had it come out in the latter half of the 2010s, and probably would've been an all-time favorite had it come out earlier than that. But for me, this series fell short in the memorable department. I felt like I was watching a mix of Sotus and Make It Right. But, I liked those series, and to be quite honest, I liked this one too, but still, give it another year and I'll definitely change my opinion on it.

Let's Dive In.

Usually, I like the secondary couple way more than the main, but for this one, Pai and Itt were the ones with my heart. I loved Pai the most. While their acting was far from the best, I still loved the way Pai looked. He added something to his character that I really enjoyed. The shyness in the beginning to trying his best at being confident in college was well. Itt mostly annoyed me for the majority of the series. I don't know why he didn't just explain to Pai that he likes him, and instead, we had to go through all these trials and tribulations that could've been solved way before all of their drama. I did like the touch of Pai's family coming to visit ad seeing their son in the middle of a make-out session. That storyline was probably my favorite.

I don't like the way Marc (Itt) acts. We see his mom pass away and he has no type of emotions whatsoever. He's basically over it by the next episode. I felt like he had a harder time with showing his emotions, which is something he needs to grow on if he wants to go further in his acting career.

I loved Pure. I liked how he was open about not believing in love and only wanting to hook up. I also liked that he was open with liking guys and girls. Fiat once again does an incredible acting job. I wanted him and Waan together so bad, way more than I did him and Folk. Although, I did like that Folk helped Pure to believe in love again. Waan was at least given a love interest, even if we don't get to see her much, she's still there, which is exciting, to say the least. I'm still hoping that we get to see either JJ or AJ with the main lead role,

Overall, this series wasn't terrible, but as I said, give it another year and it will be forgettable. This is another series in which I wouldn't really recommend, but it was a fun watch.

It's good, and I recommend watching it

This is my first review, and I don't really know how to start, but My Gear An Your Gown is one of my favorite BLs this year. The story is not boring, and even though we've seen the Engineering concept TOO MANY TIMES, this one feels different in a way. I liked how the story progressed from High School to University, and how each character had a good development. This is one of the few times in which GMMTV gave their side couple enough screentime, and also a good storyline. Folk and Pure were my favorite part talking about their relationship, and also acting. Itt and Pai, weren't bad either, and I liked how their relationship turned out to be, they cared for each other, and that's something we can notice very well. This is a really sweet bl, with really cute scenes, and a story that will not let you down for sure. It talks about important issues that are not often talked about in other shows like sexual safety, or parents pressuring their children. I definitely recommend you to watch it at least once in your life!

Would Recommend! Great cast with amazing chemistry

I noticed this series was getting a lot of hate throughout airing and I'm not sure why. Personally I loved this series, I see lots of comments going around that its too slow and I can see how that may come across but I'd still have to disagree, I love the how this series was sort of a slow burn, it may seem slow because a lot of the series is a flashback before they come to present times but I think that added to the charm of the series. I loved seeing how the characters met each other and how they all have a history with each other, that added a lot of depth to the characters and their relationships for me.

I started the series because of the scenes I had seen beforehand of PureFolk and even though they are a side couple who weren't introduced till towards the end of the series, for me they stole the show! The chemistry between Fiat and Aun was amazing, they work so well together and I hope they get another series together.

I do agree the beginning was a little rough and awkward, but they were Highschoolers and I think that just made their characters more authentic, as the show went on and the timeline came to them being in university it almost was perfect because it gave the actors time to become more comfortable in their roles and you could really see their character development through that.

Overall, I would recommend this series and I will probably be rewatching it again in the future, the plot was kind of a typical BL plot (but they're popular for a reason), the casting was phenomenal, and the chemistry between the actors had me blushing when their characters would interact. I hope they get a second season so we can see more of everyone being happy and together in their couples, but if not they ended the series quite perfectly in my opinion!

It is an okay show but its worth watching for Pure's story

The show was okay but only reason I really stayed was for Pure and his story. I liked how when it came to Pure, the directors address the importance of practicing safe s3x, which I feel tends to be neglected in BLs. The actor perfectly portrays the fear one may experience at the thought that they may be positive to an STD. I also liked the way Wan and Pure's friendship is so genuine and how they truly are there for one another, even when one tends to want to deal with things alone. Pure's story with his family is a little sad but I feel it managed to portray how Pure coped (i.e. through several one-night stands and not really caring about the other person's feelings). I feel like Pure's character needs A LOT MORE SCREEN TIME and the story should have focused more on him and Folk.
The main couple was cute but the lack of communication and Pai simply being pushed around..... I just did not like this couple as much.

Sweet, but not the greatest

I love the storyline that was created for Itt and Pai, but there just seems to be something lacking with the relationship the two actors create for the characters. I think that the most interesting was the fact that Itt and Pai did bring out the best in each other essentially, but the actors lacked chemistry with each other which made it a little hard to watch for me. I found myself constantly liking Fiat's character, Pure, more than the main characters. I think the story was great, and everything was great in all honesty, but I couldn't really feel the chemistry.

CUTE CHEMISTRY

First of all, the story is a typical rival turn to lovers bl series but the characters manage to pull it up because of the cute chemistry of the main actors. Itt and Pai couple is super duper cute, specially their speaking voice hahaha I fell in love with it.

Second, the other supporting characters add flavours to the show and make it more fun and interesting to watch.

Third, I also love how they portray each characters.

I guess the only shortcomings in this show is the fact that the story was divided into two parts; the high school days and the college days which revolves into the same story of the main couple without a character development and it was derived in a long period of time which consume almost half of the total number of episodes in the series. Plus, the ending is not an impactful finale unlike any other drama, I was expecting for more.

But overall, the series is entertaining to watch and I didn't get bored even though it is another cliche drama. Good job to the cast, staff, and all of the people behind it.

This show was a typical BL but don't let it get your hopes down.

To be honest I didn't have very high expectations for this series but I would say it well passed them. The setting is of course one that we all know. The infamous university setting with our favorite engineers and doctors. Now this is why I say not to let it get your hopes down. A lot of people have given this bad ratings but I'm telling you it's worth your time. The show just gives me a very comfortable feeling. I personally think Marc and Win fit the roles of Itt and Pai perfectly. Win the shy boy and Marc the cool athlete. It highlights how it can be hard to show your true feelings to the person you like and how sometimes you put a mask on and try to hide it. Of course it was GMMTV so they had to add unnecessary drama but it was kind of funny. The setting was just like yout typical Thai BL series but the storyline is more than just that. They bring up very important topics such as safe sex and themes of confidence. Each character worked to become more confident throughout the series and it was really lovely to watch. I would say this was one of the best series I've ever watched and highly, HIGHLY, recommend!

This is what happens when the side characters and the couple are more interesting than the leads.

Itt and Pai just acted like children, when whatever misunderstanding was going on, could have been solved with one conversation (which was also proven later in the series). Like, why is a university student acting like an elementary school kid bullying his crush? Their plotline was simply not interesting, especially if we compare it with Pure and Folk.

This could have been better if either we got Pure and Folk as main characters, or if they didn't give such an interesting backstory for Pure. But what we've got was a simple main plot that felt like filler, and a complex underdeveloped side story, which felt rushed because of the lack of screen time. I truly believe there was something interesting going on with Pure. It could easily be a series with the premise of "your past mistakes don't define who you are right now, as long as you learn from them". There was some depth in his character that could have been explored more.

One thing I for sure liked is the clear message about safe sex. I truly appreciated all the "sex talks" we've got and that the characters actually went to the hospital when they thought there might be a problem. This should not be a taboo and I loved how straightforward they were about it.

The acting was... meh? Again, I was not convinced by the main couple. At some point I was sitting in front of my laptop watching an episode and said "wow... They are about to kiss. They hadn’t kissed before... had they?". I literally did not remember a kissing scene in a romance driven show, which tells me I was not convinced by whatever was happening on the screen.

Truth to be told, I dropped the show, but after some time I saw a few screenshots of Pure and Folk and picked it up again for them. Do I regret it? Not really. Do I think I would miss something if I didn't watch it? Nope. Do with that information whatever you want :)

Potential but unmemorable

The plot wasn’t something special. Its supposed to be a love story between the confident and popular jock Itt (Marc)and the shy and awkward nerd Pai (Win). Haven’t we heard this story before? Yes, its one as old as time.

I don’t mind basic plot. Really, sometimes that’s all you’re looking for. Uncomplicated, basic, fluff for entertainment. The drama started slow but I didn’t mind it. To make up for its pace, it had two charming supporting characters. The acting is awkward for the most part, but forgivable to some extent. These are young kids so you alway have to take into consideration their inexperience and manage your expectations. But what you can not manage is the lack of chemistry. If I wasn’t told that they were in love I wouldn’t have believed it by just seeing it. It was at least better during the beginning but as the story progressed instead of tension and longing I got nothing. As episodes progressed, the still stiff acting, the snail paced progression, long pauses and the unexciting plot starts to wear you down.

Even with basic plot, success could have been within the realm of possibility for this drama, but it ultimately ended up not delivering. Most things you notice in this drama are missed opportunities for the actors, for the plot to leave a lasting impression. The plot with Itts father was something that could have been explored but was dropped unceremoniously. There have been emotional scenes that should have moved viewers but both leads played it so stiff it ended up laughable. The greatest opportunity, and the very last hope, came in ep 13 for both Win and Marc to play a moving scene, a heartbreaking scene and ... it was bland. Both failed to convey the emotion that the characters were going through. I was especially confused with Win’s acting. I don’t think Win fully grasped the idea of the character he was supposed to play; awkward, shy and introvert doesn’t mean sleepy, stiff, listless and unfeeling.
I held on hope, I promise, to the very last episode I held on hope that there would be something memorable to find. But, it stayed awkward to the end.

The other issue was with how the last episode was told. My god, it was just so underwhelming. The whole thing came off as one of those mini training videos complete with lessons on sex-ed, acceptance and the perfect 2.0 family and wholesome friends. There was no showing of how problems were tackled in a real and meaningful way, just that it was solved.

There is no need to say anything about the music in this drama because there really is nothing worth mentioning. I don’t even remember any of it, except to know that there was some classical thing playing in the background. It was unremarkable.

But not all is gloom and doom with the series. Pure was by far my favorite character. His character was a breath of fresh air. His undeniable chemistry with Waan and the organic development of friendship was the highlight of the drama for me. They may not be paired as a couple in the drama and that’s not a disappointment at all. Because even for a friendship, theirs was still the most interesting and meaningful interaction. Fiat and JJ’s portrayal was great.

I mean I wouldn’t say its a loss to watch it but I can’t in good conscience say its something to be excited about either. MDL’s algorithm tells me I should give it an overall rating of 5 but I’m giving it a 6.5 for Fiat and JJ. Give them their own series you cowards!
