Cute!!!

This is such a cute drama, the kid alone makes it enjoyable to watch. The mains chemistry is great, their interactions are adorable. They are also quite natural with their roles. It is quite cliché but whatever, you will find yourself grinning. Extremely fluffy to say the least.

The editing is crap tbh, the characters are not realistic at all. Such as the things they do concerning their occupation is beyond questionable. I'll just say that the Aunt is pain! I find it frustrating to watch couples break up after confessing, makes the ending feel rushed and unnecessary plot device. There are inconsistencies but other than that, it is a good watch. I suggest switching off your brain cells tho.

How to be a Family

The idea of a contract marriage, and seemingly a child from a previous marriage, didn’t appeal to me initially. But how the story is being told and how everything unfolds make this drama a very worthwhile watch. All the characters are lovable despite each has his/her flaws, making them believable. A child is always the center of attention, and here this cutie is the most adorable child in recent dramas. What seemingly a fake relationship and marriage that initially try to address the psychological issue of the boy by giving him a complete family that he craves, have become a real outcome as the fake parents fall in love.

He (pronounced as “her”) Qiao Yan (Wei Zhe Ming aka Miles Wei) is the CEO of a conglomerate owned by his family and a single father. He loves and dotes on the child, at the same time tries to discipline him like an adult. The outcome is ineffective and hilarious until he meets Qin Yi Yue (Hu Yi Xuan), a child psychologist. Seeing how readily He Wei Fei aka Xiao Bao (Lennon Sun) takes Qin Yi Yue in as his own mother, He Qiao Yan coerces Qin Yi Yue into a contract, with high compensation, to be a pretend mother of Xiao Bao and a pretend Mrs He, for he is a “number” guy who does everything in black and white. Little does he know he falls head-over-toes in love with Qin Yi Yue himself. He misses and thinks of her whenever she’s not around, and he would find ways and means, using Xiao Bao as an excuse, to see her. The interaction is cute and hilarious. The family dynamics are warm and pleasing. What seemingly two very different personalities, he is meticulous and analytical, and she is spontaneous, come together and form an enviable family with a ready-made son.

He Qiao Yan is a person who doesn’t express his emotions very well and openly. He doesn’t understand human relationships and has lived a monotonous life. In other words, He Qiao Yan is a boring person and Wei Zhe Ming captures that 100%. Despite being an immaculate person, I really love how he acts to protect Qin Yi Yue by dropping everything he’s doing and come to her rescue. He Qiao Yan may be a genius in everything but is an idiot in love relationship.

This is my first drama of Wei Zhe Ming. At the first look, he didn’t appeal to me. But he grows on me and by the end of the drama, I find him the most eligible single father to die for. His acting is so convincing with small little facial expressions such as a raise of the corner of his eyebrow, a blur look on his face etc, capturing all the essence of his character.

Qin Yi Yue is disorganized, intelligent and quick witted. Despite being a doctor, she is not very health conscious as she feasts on junk food. She finds He Qiao Yan a weirdo initially but moved by him when she sees his devotion for the child who is not his, and his consideration for her well-being unspoken. Their love development is gradual and solid.

I have liked Hu Yi Xuan’s acting in “Sleepless Princess”. I find her charismatic with an air of freshness and authenticity. Here as a child psychologist, she is soothing and gentle. Even at times of helplessness, she still smiles with tears and resignation in her eyes.

Chinese dramas will not be complete without some tropes such as arranged marriage for economic benefits which is not much different from marriages of the old days among the royals. And of course, there are the side couples who are also the best friends of our ML and FL.

My Verdict
This is a very enjoyable drama most romance buffs will love. I love it myself. It’s funny and light, especially when it comes to dealing with the child. The parent-child dynamics are really fun to watch. Both main lead characters are mature with a tsundere ML and a warm and approachable FL. Although some parts of the editing are lacking, it hasn’t turned into a disaster and ruined the story. Overall, this is a wonderful drama not to be missed.

Your typical drama that has all of the C-Drama clichés

So what C-drama clichés does Unforgettable Love has
✔Rich CEO ML & not so rich FL: Miles Wei plays a similar character personality from Perfect & Casual, a nerd who doesn't understand love and relies on his one and only friend for love/relationship advise. The FL was actually an okay character in the beginning before being dumb down in character quality once the relationship contract begins.
✔ A relationship bound by a contract
✔Main leads bicker at each other for more than half of the drama: Normally I wouldn't mind this because I would l find some bickering scenes funny and cute but for some reason, I was more annoyed at these 2 when their bickering scenes occur. Like I just didn't like either of them.
✔Evil family member: In this drama, it's the ML's aunt
✔Annoying & rude exs along with a few non-important jealous characters
✔A break-up towards the end of the drama after getting together 2 episodes ago
✔Last minute happiness/relationship repair in the second to last/last episode

Honestly, there's nothing real special about this drama. This is about as average as you can get for a C-drama. I loved the scenes with the little boy, Xiao Bao because I'll be honest, I only stuck with this because of his scenes. Secondary ML & FL were amusing to me as I enjoy their scenes more than the leads. For one, they were the best friend of the ML & FL so while the main leads do have a love rival for each, I'm just glad the second leads were best friends and not love rivals and their scenes were funnier to me.

What bothered me about this drama:
- I was on my breaking point when they introduce the evil aunt and the annoying and snobby ex. I felt like the ML didn't have good enough lines to support the FL when these two did wrong against the FL. The FL had a spine to talk back and defend herself when it came to the ML, but when it came to others, she's doesn't defend herself much. What made me finally drop this was the break up. I despise dramas that goes with the format, "I'm breaking up with you because I love you and in order to protect you from hurt" That's got to be the stupidest reason to break up with someone. I like a drama where the lead couple stands firm in their relationship no matter what's being thrown at them and they go and talk through it together. Not this drama though. Our lead couple just didn't have a good foundation to support one another to start with, which is why the break up happened so easily. Also, I'm not a big fan of having the break up issue being resolved at the second to last or very last episode. Endings always feel rushed when they do this.

BUT... I did come back for Ep 23 & 24 and at least for me, I felt like the last 2 episodes were good enough for me for this drama to not be overall terrible. I think if you just skip Eps 21-22, then this drama will be okay. Overall, story plot was good. It was watchable in the beginning but with too much added nonsense and conflict later on (especially the conflict a few episodes before the last) but a great ending.

A kind of drama that I personally would never get tired of watching !

This is my first time to watch Wei Zheming .... at first, I thought this drama would be the same of other dramas that i skipped some episodes because of unrealistics and full of stupidness that made me frustrating and furious against the screenwriter. As I go on watching from episodes to the next episodes.. i fell in love with the role of Wei Zheming. I love Hu Yi Xuan from "Sleepless Princess", she's natural in her performance and of course the cutie Sun Sicheng or "Xiaobao" .

I love the story ... which gives emphasis the importance of family relationships and values. From fake marriages to be fallen in love without knowing in the process. A father who will do everything for the benifits of his son even coercing a child psychologist to be the step-mom. A fake wife who was fallen in love to her fake husband who stood for him even if it would mean by giving up or ruining her life just to be with him on his very lowly point and rough time in life.

I fell happy after completing the whole serie ... no stress at all! unlike other dramas that made me remorseful of watching it... got too much stress instead of enjoying it...

I love all of them .. Wei Zheming, Hu Yi Xuan, Sun Sicheng who i found so cute and adorable, the supporting leads ..
I would like to thank the screenwriter for not giving me stress ... job well done! i enjoyed the "Unforgettable Love" so much!
Much appreciation to the Director ... and the ML, FL and supporting leads for making a lovely, family oriented and enjoyable drama.
I love the songs .. especially the song sung by Wei Zheming .. he has a great voice !
I am telling you ... "Unforgettable Love" is really really worth watching! stress free to watch ! you will really enjoy it. This is the kind of drama that I will watch and watch... again and again !

Shout out to the Screenwriter, Director, the primary leading actor/actress: Wei Zheming and Hu Yi Xuan and the cute Sun Sicheng and all the cast and crew of "Unforgettable Love! job well done guys!

Cutest family chemistry

Honestly, the only reason why I watched this drama was because of the kid. Lennon Sun is one of the most talented child actor I've seen. He is so unbelievably cute that I couldn't help but spam the rewind button just to repeat his scenes.

In terms of the story, I kind of like the focus on Xiao Bao and his journey towards recovery. Qiao Yan (the father) is also one of a kind. His interaction with Xiao Bao is amazing to watch and I've got to say their chemistry is so real that it's difficult to believe they are not related in real life. However, the plot progresses too hastily. There are areas which I think do not deserve that much screen time and there are times when I wish they would elaborate more on the details.

--- Spoiler below ---

For example, the ending, I feel was very choppy. Qiao Yan just started discovering the truth from the car accident. I would expect at least an episode that focuses on the investigation and clues that lead to the real truth. Instead, they skipped to Yi Yue's kidnap and Qiao Yan waking up to finding out everything from Yi Yue after rescue. There are so many obvious loopholes that it's so difficult to ignore.

From the beginning, they built up the story to revolve around the car accident which was the cause of everything - from Qiao Yan's constant dream of a girl's back to Xiao Bao's condition. Instead of a satisfying ending, they decided to skip through everything. Gotta say that the story is quite lacking.

However, all in all, I do enjoy the scenes with Xiao Bao and don't mind rewatching the drama again.

Sweet and Simple

I read a lot of negative comments about this drama and I didn't want to give it a chance anymore, but then I read someone's comment and decided to give it a chance. I have no regrets, this drama was very sweet, cute and pretty simple.

Almost every drama have a cliché, and plot holes, I really don't see why this drama has so many negative reviews, it has no negative reviews than drama's I've actually put on hold or drop with higher ratings but turned out so boring and no chemistry. The leads have such a great chemistry in this show, and with the son it was even better. I actually enjoyed this show so much, even with some little plot holes and so on, if you look that that then you'll also enjoy it.

My expectations going into this show was zero, because of all the negative comments etc, i went into the show with a blank mind and wanted to experience it myself, and I'm so happy i did. i loved this, if the couple did not have any chemistry and couldn't act then I would have dropped, but the chemistry and acting was great, it was really sweet. Apart from the reason why they got together with the contract and the lack of scenes regarding the explanation for the accident, and the FL kept leaving now and then (this was my biggest issue). I had no other issues, those were the only major things I can see anyone having a issue with, but they're not deal breakers.

My review overall score is 8.5/10 this is my own personal review of what i think the show is wroth based on what i look for in a show, everyone has there own taste in drama's so there review would also be different, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't give a show a chance. try it for yourself as I did, its wither you'll love it or you wouldn't.

The most terrible logic among series I've seen in 2021 so far. Cute leads can't help.

The logic of this series is very messy. I started the first 4ep and concluded a score of 3. When I reached ep6, the score dropped to 2. After finishing the whole series, I'd really like to give 1 as the final score, but I let loose a bit and it's purely because of my bias to the FL. The quality of the series itself doesn't deserve 2 stars.

----------------------------------------------

Let me give some examples from ep6 of how the logic in this series is so much chaotic. (The examples are trivia scenes, which wouldn't spoil the story.)

- A mother of a child patient wants to snatch a toy of another child patient, age around 6 yrs old, for her own child. She openly threatens and blames the little child who is the toy's owner in front of a bunch of children at the kids' play space in the hospital's building. I can't imagine this happens at a pediatric ward anywhere in the world, but it happens here in this series! Not only an adult, who is also a mother, can freely bully a child, but there's also no hospital staff to protect this event to proceed on. Let me clarify, there is one hospital staff at the nearby desk who seems to be the administrator of the area, but she totally does nothing. She let the whole event occurs without intervening. My goshh, she's supposed to be fired if she does her job like this. It equals to intentionally let the kids get into danger.

- The FL's rival, who is a doctor, openly disses FL, who is her colleague, about some personal affair without proof in front of a bunch of child patients and some parent at the public area in the pediatric ward. She also has two back-ups, who are another doctor and a nurse, that help her diss the FL. She does something that not even a doctor would do at a workplace in front of clients. This kind of immature behavior is highly improper from the point of view of any profession. Not even to say that she is the daughter of the hospital's director. Is she stupid that she doesn't know this kind of nonsense action cause notoriety to their own hospital? How come she is a doctor??

- The hospital's director fires a FL's friend who talks back to the FL's rival and accidentally pours the coffee on the FL's rival when she is yanked. The FL wants to go to talk with the director for her friend, but the friend stops FL saying she does violate the hospital's rule. What?? What kind of rule does she mention? I don't think there can be any rule at any proper company about punishing people who pour coffee on a colleague because the colleague yanks the coffee cup to herself or it'd be easy for the employer to get sued!

Where's the logic in this series??
I love the FL and ML from other series, but this series is so infuriating to watch. For now, I still want to watch it till the end because I want to see the leads, but if I do so the score of this series could go to the lowest when I reach the last episode. From the frequency of illogical messiness showing up until ep6, I can imagine how messier this series would become and how bad I would criticize it as it goes on.

----------------------------------------------

I wrote the above review when I finished ep6. Here's what I add up after finishing the whole series.

- The illogical messiness continues quite intensely until ep10. During latter episodes, the story doesn't get much into the leads' occupations anymore. And when they don't challenge themselves to show their intellectual level, things are ok. Then at the last stretch, the nonsense plot concerning the psychiatrist profession comes up again, and this is quite a big one in terms of the profession's accuracy. The FL, as a psychiatrist, decides that the best way to save a patient who has PTSD is to not let the patient recall his lost memories. So, she tries hard to hide the memory from the patient. She, again, is a psychiatrist! But her way to cope with a patient isn't to treat him, but to hide the illness from him! My. GOSH. All the details about being a psychiatrist in this series are all WRONG. (Later, the patient still recalls the memory and it's no big deal -_- The FL then tells the patient to try recalling everything -___-")

- The last 6 episodes are super boring. When I reached the last 4 episodes, I almost didn't care much about anything anymore. It's easy to see through what things are going and how it'd end. The plot makes me roll my eyes, even the love scenes are so lamely tasteless. The acting is not good enough to attract me to stick just to see the actors/actresses move around.

----------------------------------------------

P.S.

P.S.1 - I don't feel any chemistry between the 2nd/3rd/whatsover-sub leads at all. I always skip when it's the story about them. I feel like watching them is just wasting time. It's bad to that point for me.

P.S.2 - Let's talk a bit about the taste in their costume. In ep21, there's a party and a female character wears a fade-brown chiffon dress that has three neon-green straps on the front torso part. MY..GOSH... The design of the chiffon part is a fail, to start with. It makes the person who wears it look swollen. They make the dress spongy all at the wrong places. I can't find the thought behind the designer's idea of how to come up with this dress at all except that he/she might not have brain? Then, the neon-green straps?? The neon-green doesn't go along with the fade brown which is the core color here at all. And straps?? Why straps there?? It's like they want to add some spice into the dull brown dress, but they don't have the initiative of how to do that, so they just conveniently put anything that would look the most out-of-place there. They succeed, I'd say. It's hilarious. I choked with laughter right when the character comes into the frame. Unless... this character has a strong personality, she's not a joke. And this is an intense scene, but I can't take it serious at all. It's humorous but in an embarrassing way.

Average and sloppy...

This drama is about the ML that plays a father figure in his brother's son's life as his brother passed away due to a car accident. The ML believes this was no mere accident but a preplanned murder and searches for the truth. Meanwhile the ML and FL come across each through various incidents to find out that their fates were intertwined long before they knew it....
Seems interesting? Well I'm sorry to say this but it isn't as interesting as I mentioned. I would like to give credit for introducing the kid character which was unique (a bit different from standard trauma love story cdrama's). The kid character made it feel funny and bit goofy. The FL and ML acting was also good. However towards the end the story slowly disappointed. Ning Fing and Lin Wei roles were barely needed in the main frame of the story. It just seemed like an extra prop. In case of the SL female and male lead love story, I barely watched it. I wasn't that driven to watch it and ended up skipping it. What drives me nuts is how through out the story the ML searches for the truth and the person behind the accident. But in the end he ends up finding the answer in the last ep on a hospital bed. There wasn't any villain figure at all but just a few words stating that there is one. And the mystery is solved like that. I mean there was blackmailer and everything that hyped up the story as though there was something big that was to be revealed. I also felt the storyline was all over the place. One sec it was about the ML searching the truth, another sec it was about jealousy and then being rejected passed on status. As a whole the reason I ended up continuing was because of the cute kid and maybe a couple of cute love scenes. Other then that, that was pretty much..
My suggestion is it to skip this drama. But if your someone like me who watched almost all of the good cdrama's and there is nothing else to watch then I guess you can give it a try.

Adorable kid... inconsistent and that is it

This drama starts off really well, had it continues in the way is started with a smart a tad clumsy but adorable female lead.
An Icicle male lead lacking communication skills and the cutest kid ever... The side characters are not even annoying or anything like that. The Sysmance is one of the grater ones and the second male lead is this adorable kitten loving man. I do not even remember the male lead forcing himself on the female lead even once. then I would probably have given it a nine star rating

But at some point the female ale lead suddenly looses all signs of intelligence. Just poof and they where just, gone never to be seen again. Some parts got rushed , others seemed like they would never end. The humor disappeared and all we had left was a cute kid and some badly preformed kisses.

So all in all, watch it if you have nothing better do do and love adorable kids. But I would not really recommend it.

Please go watch this!

I 100% recommend this. This is drama is so good. Also, the cast is perfect. I won’t lie and say that i dropped it at first but then i decided to give a other try and i’m so glad that i did. The main cast had wonderful chemistry. I would totally rewatched drama again. Please don’t wait to start this drama!!! The main lead actors are wonderful for in this drama. In the beginning, i decided to only watch this for the main female actor but ended up falling for the main male actor. Also, im writing this long review since it need 500 characters to post this review. I’m sorry for this long review. Thanks

Cutest Kid ever! Almost dropped. Will not rewatch

Started out loving it but the love story was really slow.. The little child actor Lennon is without a doubt, the cutest actor ever. He made the show. I would have dropped it except for him. His story line is adorable and very heart warming. The writers really did not seem to understand how to write a good love story. Very little skinship. I wasn’t interested in the second couples either. Lin Wei’s acting was awful. Hard to watch, cringe worthy. Started out loving it but the love story was really slow.. nice and cuteness overload

its a very warming story...
I watched the drama because of the male lead and so far among his drama lead acting he's consistent in acting. Not too heavy as drama and not to light as love story.
I just love that they don't focus too much on the past rather than how to achieve living a life everyday regardless of what you go through.
There are few scenes that really made me damp a little of my tears but its makes me nostalgic about emotions on family.
I super love that kiddo regardless of how many lines he said, his face is a sparkling sunshine regardless of the emotion he show. I can actually-rewatch his cute scenes.
My apologies to ML and FL that kid stole every favourites I can give to the leads.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha..
I don't expect the heavy acting since it wasn't really that needed for such a theme/story.
I do love to say that overall it was nicely done.
