Unnecessary but Watched

I think the only person that really delivered was CSJ which is why I gave it a 10, she nailed her character to the full, the only time I didn't like her character was when she was being dominated by JDT as a housewife. Although the storyline was overly exaggerated and absurd, it was entertaining and the fashion alone will keep you going even when you feel like giving up on the drama, SSY slay in all her looks being the classy lady she is and CSJ slay as a boss and dominant lady that she is as well. I love how the cast played their characters especially the villains even though some were over the top, and I'm glad KSH won a deasang for her spectacular acting. It should have ended in season 2 which had the perfect ending and the perfect revenge plan.

Never did it ever cross my mind that I would cry for Cheon SeoJin and EunByu

The story has S1 was fine then S2 got meh and FINALLY S3 made me uhh… I watched the first two seasons while they were airing then I got to S3 I just skip skip and skip since I’m not into melodramatic troupe. But I binged watch it these two days, the story wasn’t bad but there were many loopholes…and the ending could’ve been better or they should’ve at least shown a bit more interactions the drama too 3seasons but the ending was so rushed just a few mins if the last ep. They didn’t even let Rona mourn for Dr.Ha actually no one really mourned for Logan, Soo ryeon or Dr.Ha. They didn’t even show Seo Jin’s secretary’s story a little but like Secretary Cho’s that I can’t even remember his name. I can only recall his scenes where he helps Eunbyul , gets slapped and give the real Dan Tae fake bones…They also didn’t show what happened to him at the end, makes me feel he deserve much better…..but one good thing tho I’ll be able watch SeokKyung, Eunbyul and Minhyuk actors’s future works peacefully now to see that they’ve grown and mature. There were probably many loophole because either the author was rushed or she was out of ideas or both🤷🏻‍♀️

GREAT ENDING..

honestly, I loved the ending for the drama. I’m glad they all lived happily and a world without joo dan tae. Although I will admit this wasn’t as exciting as the first season. I think oh yoon hee’s death towards the end of the season and her not being there made my rating a 7/10, I just simply miss her. Also shim suryeon and oh yoon hee living happily in heaven yeah I want that sequel. Anyway, the penthouse ride was fun while it lasted. It really cured my boredom and was a fun show to watch. Love the cast as well <3

Disappointed

This drama should’ve stopped at season 2… like they could’ve gave us a special episode where everyone’s happy after they come back from jail.. but no.

Let me remind you that I don’t know how to write reviews at all… I’m just sharing my thoughts and why I feel this way.Now episode one was had me excited and I was happy but also mad. But I’m here to talk ab episode two and how they based Logan’s twin off stereotypes… like you could’ve easily gave this man a fade an left his hair how it was… and a lot of you will be mad at me for dropping the show just because of that but I felt offended so I don’t want to watch it anymore and I feel like they’re dragging it now.. they honestly should’ve left him dead.

Normalizing Racism

This show has to be the worst show ever, the 1 and the 2 season felt like it was on steroid, at least it was enjoyable and watchable but this 3 season it’s pure embarrassment. The writer just wash down the drain all the character development for mere shock value. Now come the big issue, the constant mockery of black people and black culture, it’s like after Backstreet rookie SBS still haven’t learnt anything. This show is a disgrace. If you are planning on seeing this show don’t. The actor Who have lived in the state should‘ve known better.

Love the cast hate the story

I think the headline is explanation enough. Anyways I recommend u go watch hometown cha cha cha cuz it’s good so far orrrr Move to Heaven 😍 ohh or prison playbook. U know what also hospital playlist. Okay is that 500 characters. No? Okay there’s also go back couple. Orr crash landing on you. Honestly I also wanna say this show made me so happy in the first season and the cast is amazing and it’s so well done visually. But this season really made all that lose its meaning. U can’t end it like that I felt like I was watching a joke ending the whole time. I’m not sure what happened but I think something changed so they had to do this. Idk is it revenge from the writer cuz we kept saying everyone keeps coming back to life. Good byee

only watch season 1 (season 2 and 3 are too messy)

Rewatch and acting cast value are actually 0. I would rate this drama a -10 if I could. The plot doesn't actually have any direction and the writer looks like she's bored, she keeps on redirecting characters, giving them twins and the whole show just feels messy. I didn't mind the mess because it was a ok show to talk about with my friends and I was not going to let the time I spent watching season 1 and 2 go into vain but then they made Logan have a twin that looks like a SoundCloud rapper and I just had to say bye.

The romance in this show is really repeatitive so if you like romance this would be an ok show to watch because at some point they threw out the actual plot to make penthouse a harem and focus on seokhoon dating Rona and tricking eunbyeol.

If I had a chance to watch this show for the first time again I would just watch season 1 and act like season 2 and 3 never existed.

Should Have Stopped At Season 2

Honestly was Season 3 even needed?!
The writers are just dragging this story for no reason and it isn't even necessary. I loved all of the crazy acting and was truly shocked on how good the actors were but I mean they could've ended this show with Season 2 and the recent episode where there was cultural appropriation is big NO. They really did Logan Lee's actor really dirty. They should've have known better. I'm so disappointed especially since this show gained such a big audience, you'd expect more intense and crazy plot twists but at this point it's becoming a whole joke. They could've given this man a haircut but no. The writers really recorded this and spent hours editing this shit and thought that this was really okay? Also this isn't the first time this show made fans upset. They really need to think it through and do their research especially with many fans waiting for episodes every week. I honestly loved the last two seasons and I just can't anymore. The cultural appropriation is the redline for me. I had high hopes for this show but guess not anymore. Going to reconsider if this show is my favorite.

Sigh, from a Black American!

Season 1 and season 2 of Penthouse were good, but honestly, season 3 was not needed, and is silly. I dropped Penthouse Season 3, before episode 2 even aired. If you don't know by now, episode 2 is when the Penthouse writers show their racism by having an Asian American actor dress like a stereotypical Black American man. Note: the percentage of Black American men who dress like that is far less than Black American men who do not dress like that. FYI it's also important to mention that I don't see a problem dressing that way. The reason why Penthouse Season 3, episode 2 is problematic is because when Black Americans go anywhere, for example South Korea, Koreans think that it's okay to approach black people by using discriminatory slang, like yo-yo, gang-gang, that or they are afraid of black people, thinking we want to rob them. FYI, I noticed the subliminal racism in season 2; the Black American actors were thugs, while the White American actors were having fun in a bar or were businessmen. If you're interested in understanding systemic racism please click on the following link [https://youtu.be/FdrNuSw0yII].

The reason why I dropped this show after watching episode 1 in season 3, is because it was too unrealistic. I know that it's a fictional drama, but there has to be something that we can identify with. For example, in episode 1, Joo Dan Tae / Mr. Baek leaves jail and is transported to a hospital, he has heavy bleeding, and he makes 3 stops before going back to the hospital. One of the stops that he makes is pulling up to the house of the governor (or some political figure) in a tractor truck, while bleeding out. LIKE, SERIOUSLY? What made me decide to call it quits, was the last 5 minutes of episode 1 in season 3, when they push Cheon Seo Jin off of the cliff. So, Shim Soo Ryun becomes the same person, she spent the last 2 seasons trying to imprison.

Nonsense plot, completely worse acting than previous seasons

Penthouse was my go-to K-drama but sadly, it only cultivated an interest in me for the first 2 seasons.

So far, 4 episodes of season 3 have aired - and I am totally fed up with the plot and the acting of each character, especially the plot for Oh Yoon He was really illogical. In this particular review, i will focus on my review of season 3 - episode 4.

1st: Plot
The plot in this episode was totally nonsense and all of the mishaps could have 100% been avoided. So many holes in the logic of the plot that could bring up questions in any viewer.
- Oh Yoon He tested the DNA of SSR and Seok Kyung and found out that Seok Kyung is Min Seol A's twin and SSR's daughter by blood
-> SSR could have tested the DNA all this time by herself? Especially when she knew that Jun Dan Tae has always been full of lies?
-> The result of the DNA test: OYH could have told SSR all this time through the phone??? Especially when she knew she was getting in danger as she followed miss Jin. She could have told SSR immediately - explanation could have been reserved til after.

- When SSR got on miss Jin's car to drive herself and Eun Byul away, notice that she DID bring her bag with her (containing the DNA test), meaning that she was really cautious before she got out of the car.
Now... she could have TAKEN HER CAR KEYS WITH HER, which would have prevented Ju Dan Tae from getting on her car and chasing her afterwards. The fact the she could have taken her key cars with her is totally LOGICAL, since she also remembered to take her bag and the DNA test with her and she was also on her guard as it was a very dangerous place.

I know the purpose of all screenwriters is to heighten the intensity of plot and to make viewers become more curious in the next episodes. However, considering that this is such a K-drama that requires logic (solving crimes, plot twists, etc.), leaving such a big number of holes and illogic in the plot is totally unacceptable.

- WHAT WAS GOING ON IN OH YOON HE'S MIND WHEN SHE THOUGHT SHE COULD RESIST THE FORCE OF A BLACK CAR LITERALLY GOING AT FULL SPEED by pushing against the white car, WITH 2 BARE HANDS??? This was totally nonsense omfg I can't even understand why the screenwriter made her do that (ofc, to heighten the plot by putting OYH in a near-death situation, making the audience question the death of this character in the next episode). But logically speaking, NO PERSON IN THEIR RIGHT MIND would do this...

2nd: Acting
Honestly, I was very annoyed at first when Oh Yoon He first appeared on screen in this episode when she came to the theatre and announced to everyone that she got 20% of the corporation's shares and she was also going for the director position.

Her acting has become VERY REPETITIVE - trying to look "superior", glaring at someone for a few secs and then widening her eyes and then either looking serious, turn away or smirking in a victorious way and then turn away. Honestly, just notice this pattern and you could see that it's been going on in this exact pattern ever since the last episodes of season 2 and all episodes of season 3 up until now.
