Ponwalai, Yodthian's sister, is Prakob's mistress. He devoted his money and himself to her, but she already had another man. When Prakob finds out, he dies of a heart attack and leaves lots of his assets to Ponwalai, which results in his son Noppharuj being furious at both her and Yodthian. Noppharuj chases after them to get revenge, and Yodthian lets him do whatever he wants because she feels guilty over her sister's actions. " I should never have came back into your life. I lit that fire of vengeance which was the starting point of all lies and pain."

- Yodthian

***
"Behind the Revenge" (which also has the title "Fai Luang") uses the havoc of fire to actually describe in the type of mess its plot is in for. Its remade from the original version that aired in 1998 that got very popular back then, this new version has changed a lot of important details and dynamics of the plot. Both versions however starts the same way. Our tenderhearted and selfless heroine Yodthian (starring Pimmy Pimrapa) enters the funeral of the one man she always has felt gratitude towards...knowing she will cause eruption from his family members. The reason being she is the younger sister of the man`s mistress that is hated by his wife and children. One person that gets specially furious is his son, the formidable heir Noppharuj (starring Son Yuke) and he throws her flowers to the ground and burns them to ashes...the moment is symbolic. Its that moment the vengeance starts with the storm and Noppahruj don`t back down to the end.

Who else was madly excited when the trailer released??!!! I was! I totally fell for the original version with Willie & Tao and was soooo excited when the new version would star Son & Pimmy in those roles since they are absolutely terrific actors. After its airing i got kinda dissappointed by the negative feedback it has got here on MDL, but i decided to give it a shot since i love the original story so much. We do get some romantic scenes in the new version, but the passion between the main-leads flared like instant fire whenever they were in the same room in the original version.

The character of Phonwalai (starring Bee Namthip) was the driving force of this plot. She is the Anti-heroine who craves revenge and does anything to step up the climber to get what she wants. She is extremely selfish, manipulative and ruthless when she needs to be. But she is also a bruised soul. So lonely and anxious in her sadness and grief and trauma. Not even her younger sister is able to help her. She does however stumble upon several rocks as soon as her weakness appears before her and gives way more attention to her sister than she liked. Nitan is such a charismatic villain. He is the joker and holds all the cards from the start. Nitan & Walai are like two stumbling rocks, one minute allies and the other enemies. One of the most toxic relationships i ever have seen on-screen must be between them, how they hated each other and how the other always got a upper hand. Wow, they made the episodes so exciting.

I may be generous with my rating, but the fact is that i actually binge watched this lakhorn in three days and immensely enjoyed the ride. It was a melodramatic thriller with a central love-story to the core, but absolutely fascinating with its business politics, actions of revenge and betrayals and the dysfunctional relationships that came through. I loved the way the story developed however dramatic to the events that changed everything. I never got bored with this drama.

Trust me, skip this one, it's not worth it.

This one is a mess. Trust me, it's not worth it to waste you time on it. I started it because I wanted some good new kiss/slap lakorn, and looking at the cast I thought that was it. But nop. Only reason why I stuck till the end is because I like mess and I already started watching it.

"Plot" (I wouldn't call it a plot because it was so messy for no good reason) is exactly what is writen synopsis. Story is revolved aronud Ponwalai (SFL), Yodthian- FL (sister of Walai), Noppharuj (ML) and Nithan (SML).Basically, Walai was mistress of Nopps father, but she cheated him with Nithan. Reason why she was his mistress is because she wanted to take revange for the death of her mather ( his wife killed her in car accident). Nopps father saw Walai with Nithan and got heartattack and died. In his will, he left everything to Walai. And ofcours, Nopp wants to return to his family what should have belong to them if his father didn't think with his other head (you know what I mean). And everything is about that. We have on one side Walai (with her revange on the Nopps family and her pshyco crush on Nopp, I know, right?) and Nithan (who has his own angenda) then we have Nopp who wants to return what belongs to his family, and then we have Thian who is trying to be an angel and play middle man who tries to fix everything. Obviously we have to have love triangle between two sisters and ML.

Story: story its self was a mess. No matter if actors were good, if story is bad everything is going downhill. Story had lot's of flaws. Starting with screean time between leads, then screen time between ML and SFL and SFL and SML. The leads almost didn't had screen time. You could make entire drama without FL, like making her absent and it wouldn't make difference when it comes to love story. One of problems that I had was the fact that plot it was related to hospital but I never in my life, or in dramas saw hospital that didn't have patients. I watched dramas with privates hospital and still it had some action going on when it comes to patient. Like, it had more press conferances then patients. Also, like we had FL wearing heels in hospital and she was a doctor. Like, make it make sanse. Also, I have problem with charecters. They wrote FL so weak and stupid. I can understand naive FL who is like an angel good, but at some point even leads like that show they have brain. FL was so much up her sisters ass, that she even cover her sisters crimes. And that end, OMG, not every drama need happy ending not life karma. Sometimes, drama needs law and prison.

Acting: well it was good.Bee and Aon were superior. You could feel every emotion. They literally made you hate them. Son was there too, not bad but not at the same level as Bee and Aon. The weakest link, by my opinion, was Pim. And that comes from someone who loves Pim. I don't know was it only writing, or maybe because she was always sharing scenes with two amazing actors who eat their role.

Nevertheless, I wouldn't rewatch it ever again (and this comes from someone who has anxiety and who finds piece rewatching dramas). Nor would I recommend this to anyone.
