Lost potential

A movie without any depth. While watching new movie, you expect to see something "different", something that you don't see in every single show- here you can't find this. Every aspect of this is predictable; before you even start, you already know the whole story and what would happen next, so it's boring.

Story about teacher fighting against kids who don't face consequences for their actions? Yeah, we have all seen this before. Of course, you can make something enjoyable from this, but I think the director didn't know how.

I really like the idea of a teacher fighting against bad actions, but in this movie I couldn't understand it. If you want to help kids, you should do it by reporting it to the police or by finding the evidence, not by beating people. The biggest absurd here was that the teacher fought against Sugang in front of the whole school. Seriously? How is it even possible that the person who should educate had a battle in front of everyone? Teachers should represent responsibility and teach good behavior, rather than promoting violence as a solution.

When it comes to Sugang, I want to say that Lee Junyoung is a really good actor. I think he played his role very well, but at the same time, he didn't quite fit for this role. Like why a person from high school looked like a grown man? Rather than looking like a student, he looked more like a boss from a gang, who control kids. It didn't make any sense.

The movie tried to show a story about justice, but it didn't work out. It's illogical why only one person got the penalty, even though he wasn't the only person who bullied other people. Also, why didn't the teacher face any consequences? She was beating students, and despite her "good" intentions, she did bad things for which she should go to jail.

it's a bit uncomfortable to watch.

it's a really k-movie. but the violence and the scenes make you really uncomfortable. besides the story is really good.matter of the fact that the talking about bullies take really big guts. Matter of the fact the way lee jun young played the character "hansugang" was crazy.he played the character so good that you might start to hate him. some if love bullying type of genre then this movie is hardcore suggested. just be aware of the uncomfortable scenes. besides the most satisfying is the ending.

A Wholesome Satisfaction throughout 1 Hour

I know U guyss already know through the Synopsis that it'll be a School-Bullying Theme.Yes,There Are bullying. Everytime you watch them Your Blood will Boil to the Highest Peak. But Trust Me it was needed for the satisfaction you'll feel in the later Episode. If you can't feel the Pain of Victim or can't Hate the Villain enough the satisfaction will be dull for you.

Both The actors Did really well in their part.Shin hae sun is always my favourite actress, on the other hand Hating a handsome man like Lee Jun young is really hard. But they Both really nailed their character. Other side characters r good too.How i wish it would be a Drama rather than a Movie.why?? because i feel chemistry.. hihihi 🤩😍

Worth watching for the end result

Every show about bullies Should come with a TRIPLE WARNING about the level of predatory evil and violence depicted. Are there animals like this as living examples of the perps in this movie? While I shudder to think the devil has spawned such human beings, history proves they do exist. Therefore, watch at your own emotional and psychological peril. Viewer, know yourself!

The bullying behavior is unfiltered, so this has no entertainment value for normal people. And even the retribution favor is dialed back (thankfully). A difficult watch but our leading lady actress does an amazing job as always. And the head bully (Lee Jun Young) did too good a job in his role. Very frightening. I have zero desire to rewatch this. But it was worth while.

Shin Hye Sun is the Reason to Watch

Overall, a good movie to watch and enjoy, especially if you like the bully getting it in the end. Shin Hye Sun was great here and I loved that she was taking hits and wasn't just beating the bully up.

It's a hard watch though but a lot of the bully movies and TV shows are. I mean the level of vitriol that bullies seem to have against people they consider less than is just wild. The fact that schools and administrators and the police often don't do anything either not to mention Korea's lack of discipline when it comes to minors who do horrible shit. It's a lot to unpack. Just a terrible situation that Korean society seems to be ok with.

5/4/25

I don't understand y others say its waste of time... Im one in the crowd that saw poison chemistry in this movie.. And its a good one to spend ur precious 2 hrs... I liked it

Perfect-est acting, good chemistry between the leads ofc physical... Powerfull fight scenes and a thing is ot would have been wholesome if it was a drama of 8 eps.... In just 2 hrs it gave what it could... So its ok

Bullies are just over the top

I would suggest to watch this movie atleast once. The story was not that phenomenal, the regular school bullies taking it to the next level and school authorities are just letting them be, until finally someone steps forward. The same old rich power trip continues, but the characters acting w as on point.
I fell in love with the FL, the movie made me realise how pretty one looks when fighting for the right thing.

Hats off to Shin Hye -sun, l was aww struck by her acting and that of Lee Jun young.

Some thing that felt lacking would be Han Soo Kang having a backstory. He has a step mother and some rumours about his family and that was all. It was up to our imagination, to make up as to why he is the way he is.!!

When One Brave Soul Stands Against Evil

Brave Citizen is an action-packed thriller that blends dark humor, intense fight scenes, and social commentary into a story about standing up to injustice. Based on the popular webtoon, the film follows a once-promising boxing champion who takes a temporary teaching job at a high school, hoping to earn a permanent position. Instead, she finds herself surrounded by corruption, fear, and a violent student who believes he is untouchable.

The female lead, **So Si-min** (played by Shin Hye-sun), is the heart of the movie. Once a national boxing champion, she has spent years hiding her true abilities to avoid trouble and protect her future. Shin Hye-sun perfectly balances Si-min's warm, compassionate personality with the fierce determination that emerges when she can no longer ignore the suffering around her. Watching her struggle between doing what is safe and doing what is right makes her an incredibly relatable and inspiring heroine.

The male lead and primary antagonist, **Han Su-gang** (played by Lee Jun-young), is one of the film's greatest strengths. Su-gang is arrogant, manipulative, and terrifying because he believes his family's wealth and influence place him above the law. Lee Jun-young delivers a chilling performance, portraying a bully who uses fear and violence to control everyone around him. Rather than being a one-dimensional villain, he represents the consequences of power without accountability, making every confrontation with Si-min feel meaningful and intensely satisfying.

What makes *Brave Citizen* stand out is that it isn't just about physical fights. It explores how fear allows bullying to grow, how people often remain silent to protect themselves, and how one person's courage can inspire others to stand up against injustice. The action choreography is exciting, but the emotional victories are just as rewarding.

Shin Hye-sun once again proves why she is one of Korea's most versatile actresses, effortlessly shifting between comedy, heartfelt emotion, and explosive action. Combined with Lee Jun-young's commanding performance, the two create a compelling battle of strength, determination, and willpower.

If you enjoy stories featuring a strong female protagonist, satisfying action, memorable villains, and a message about standing up for those who cannot defend themselves, *Brave Citizen* is a film well worth watching. It reminds us that true courage isn't about being fearless—it's about choosing to do the right thing, even when the odds are stacked against you.

Review of "Brave Citizen" – 10/10?

I watched Brave Citizen kind of randomly — I wasn’t expecting anything too special, but wow… I ended up loving it way more than I thought I would. It made me feel so many things — anger, hope, sadness, and honestly, a lot of inspiration. For me, it’s a definite 10/10💕 because it really left a strong impression and I can’t stop thinking about it.

The movie follows So Si Min, a teacher who starts to stand up against injustice in the school she works at. What I liked the most is that she isn’t some perfect superhero. She’s just a regular person who’s been through a lot, and even though she’s scared and unsure at times, she still chooses to be brave. And that’s what makes her so powerful.

A lot of times, when I watch movies like this, the characters feel kind of distant or too “perfect” to relate to. But Si Min felt so real to me. I kept wondering what I would do if I were in her place. Would I be brave enough to speak up? Would I take that risk? I’m honestly not sure — and that’s exactly why I admire her so much.

The film also really shows how often people stay silent when something wrong happens. Either because they’re scared, or they think it’s not their problem, or they believe nothing will change. And Si Min starts out that way too — trying to mind her own business — but eventually, she just can’t ignore it anymore. That’s what I think is the most powerful message in the movie: you don’t need to be famous or rich or important to make a difference. You just need a voice. And the courage to use it.

The acting was amazing, especially from Shin Hye-sun, who played Si Min. You could feel every emotion through her performance — her frustration, sadness, strength, and determination. It wasn’t overacted or fake at all. It was so natural that I forgot I was even watching a movie. It just felt real.

I also liked how the school was portrayed. It wasn’t some perfect, shiny place. It felt more honest — like the way schools can sometimes be in real life, with pressure, unfair rules, and people who abuse power. That made the story even more meaningful. Because when the problems are realistic, the solutions feel real too. And it really made me believe that even one person standing up can start to change things.

After it ended, I just sat there for a minute in silence. It’s the kind of movie that stays with you after the credits roll. And the best part is, it wasn’t boring or too serious the whole time. It had moments of action, strong emotions, and just the right amount of intensity. It kept me interested from beginning to end.

On my personal scale, this is definitely 10/10💕 — not just because it was a great movie, but because it actually made me think. It reminded me that bravery isn’t about being fearless. It’s about doing the right thing, even when you’re afraid. And that’s something I really needed to see.

All The fighting scenes are Chef Kiss.

After a long time a proper Action Movie which is beautifully Done even with a Cliff-Hanger ending. I mean they can even make a another Movie continuation of this storyline.A big applause for the Director and the writer.

The Story: Nailed every point of a revenge Plot.Very satisfying to see every punch.Boxing part choreographed brilliantly.

Acting : The casting is Top notch.Watching The ML playing as a Villain with this handsome face is scary.FL did her job wonderfully obviously she is a renowned actress.

Music: Nothing memorable. But not boring too.
Overall a Nice watch for a Movie point of view.

GREAT MOVIE. HONESTLY.

Starts off strong with si min, a teacher, who was an aspiring athlete in the past as a boxer, yet had to pull out due to her dad’s debt, which led to her becoming a contract teacher at a school that is labelled to “excel at anti-bullying”, only to find out that it’s a school thriving on violence, with a boy named Su gang being the main perpetrator. As Si min finds out Su gang was targeting his classmate named Jin hyeong, she decides to wear a cat mask, and disguise herself and fight Su gang to get justice. This was working GREAT until Jin hyeong’s friend, byeong Jin, a graduate from the same school, and Su gang’s old target, finds out Si min’s identity as the “kitty cat” as the students labelled her, and begs her to save Jin hyeong. After some cracking down, Su gang also finds out who the kitty cat was, and decides to go against si min by planning a match at the school festival, only to notice that everyone was supporting si min, and now FINALLY AFTER ALL THE BS SU GANG GETS ARRESTED AND WHEN HE’S ASKED WHY HE DID ALL THE VIOLENCE, HE REPLIES THAT HE JUST DID IT FOR FUN. LIKE IT WOULDVE BEEN SO GOODD IF SU GANG JUST HAD A TAD BIT MORE DEPTH. SOME JUICY BACKSTORY, A TRAUMATIC CHILDHOOD, ANYTHING WOULDVE WORKED, BECAUSE SU GANG JUST SEEMED A LITTLE BLAND TO ME BUT GREAT MOVIE OVERALL.

I loved, loved, loved this movie!

Do yourself a favor and watch this. It is so incredibly satisfying to see the bad guys get their dues. The last time I felt this satisfied with justice/revenge was watching The Glory. I wish they made this into a TV show. I'd love to see Shin Hye Sun's character So Si Min go around different schools and rid them of bullies. Just when I thought Shin Hye Sun couldn't impress me any more with her acting abilities, she dazzles.
