don’t watch it if you’ve read the novel
if you’re not going to follow the original story and make so many changes then you shouldn’t have made the movie in the first place anyone who has read at least one chapter knows that this movie has insulted the original plot of this story I honestly feel bad for the author of ORV I mean what do you mean yo sangha is a healer her whole character is an assassin literally olympid is her counsellation she is like one of the top ten strongest characters and what do you mean yo joonghyuk is a side character mfWas this review helpful to you?

Don't watch it, just read the original novel
This movie is god awful and if I could, I'd give it a 0/10 but alas, it has to be a 1/10.They changed the very core of the story AND the characters. Like, if you just wanted to make a loose adaptation of the original, then at least make it better? It's not even good as just a standalone film with cheap looking CGI and poor acting. Money was definitely spent on just getting big name actors.
They took out everything that ORV stands for. Changed SO many backgrounds of all the characters. Like Kim Dokja is not a savior. He's a suicidal calculative guy who will do this to his advantage. And then them completely changing his background just to fit their own narrative? Way to take away from who he is. He's a lover of TWSA, a fan of this book and literally survived for 13 years because of this book! It's what kept him going through life. I mean the start of the opening was already b ad so I'm not surprised it's just trash.
Anyways, don't waste your time watching this or spending your money on it. Save your money, let it go to doom so they don't even attempt a second movie.
Read the original source.

CLEARING THINGS UP
PLEASE READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY.i was never the type to write reviews to simply hate, i never even write reviews even to movies i like but there's been tension going around involving the orv readers and to those who just wants to watch the movie bcs your favorite actors are playing the roles.
well, the readers arent just hating on the movie for reasons you think it is. we are just expressing our disappointment, we know live actions to most manhwas cannot really be perfect but changing the whole plot? that's a different story.
let's start with the title, "Omniscient Reader; the Prophecy" is already wrong, Kim Dokja, the main protagonist in the story isnt a prophet in anyway, if you've read the novel or the manhwa you'll know he never claimed himself to be a prophet or to be called as one.
next is the weapons, they're using guns, which aside from gong pildu's tanks and sht arent in the movie. they use swords, which is significant considering the minor constellations being significant ancient korean characters.
and the plot? the skills, the backstories? completely changed which is also obviously very significant to the story. yoo sangah, a woman who doesnt want to be seen as weak just because she's a woman is suddenly turned into a healer instead of a powerful fighter sponsored by the entire olympus nebula, a group of powerful greek gods. and kim dokja turned into a literal murderer, which contradicts to the real story, the real reason why he started reading twsa like WTF?!
and really guys, blinks? jisoo's supporters? we know you just want to see your idol in a movie but dont yall get it? they're only using her to promote the LA (if you dont believe me, look at the first movie poster, then the new one with jisoo in the front.) im not hating on your idol, infact i also like a few of her songs and follow her on social medias too. but y'all gotta wake up, we ain't hating on your idol. let's also talk about how her character, lee jihye is shipped to yoo joonghyuk, lee minho's character.
the relationship between two is purely a master and a student, lee jihye idolizes yoo joonghyuk for his skills in fighting and wants to be like him. lee jihye is a highschool student while lee joonghyuk is 28 when the scenarios started (in three ways of survival) it's just so wrong.
there are alot fo characters I'd like to talk about but then it will only make this very long. so i suggest yall start reading the novel, or atleast the manhwa to get a gist of what really happens in the story.
WE HATE THE DIRECTOR FOR CHANGING THE ENTIRE STORY that probably also helped alot of people. it might sound cliche but i know there are alot of people who resonated with kim dokja.
did y'all think that if this story wasnt well written alot of its fans would be so mad by the DRASTIC changes it made in the LA? if you only knew how excited everyone was when it was revealed that ORV was getting a LA but as the progressed it only seemed to get worse since the trailer was released.

DISAPPOINTMENT
You don't even need to watch it, if you want to see a masterpiece, read the manhwa or novel. People who watch and like it are either bots or viewers who have no knowledge of the real story, so I don't think there is a single person who knows the novel and manhwa and will like this series. The biggest reasons for this series' success will be the wrong actors and the wrong interventions made in the scenario. Was this review helpful to you?
Honestly just read the Novel.
Its honestly disappointing. It disrespected the original source material to the very point where it's completely unrecognizable and different from its source, from even the overall messages and symbolism that ORV tried to convey, everything had been completely butchered. But by peeling and stripping away everything to adhere to the general audience's expectations, there won't be anything left to love. for all I could say it's quite disappointing and unimpressive to say the least. This is setting a supremacy for future and prospective Live action adaptations to completely mess up a beloved story by extracting all the aspects that make it great in the first place. You can't even call it an adaptation, it fails in every aspect. the cinematography is incompetent, Additionally some actors with major supporting roles are just completely sidelined for no appropriate reason. This exactly isn't a matter of an "accurate adaptation and depiction" anymore. Was this review helpful to you?
This thing is just absolutely garbage
This story is clearly an inspiration and an insult to the actual Novel and Webtoon. It says that its a "live action" version of the actual orv, but it's just a "inspiration", cause the "live action" version is a version which they did what they think are right to them, just because she's a woman doesn't mean she's just a healer. Not just that, wdym that one of the MAIN character is a SIDE character? He's the main character in TWSA and should be the main character in this story too. Bihyung/Dokkaebi also looks like a ugly ass fucked up gumball filled labubu. I rather buy a labubu then buy whatever that thing is. No hate to the actors and actresses, but YJH is taller than KDJ. KDJ isn't a bully, he's the one who gets bullied, also wdym he SAVES the world? Isn't he supposed to sacrifice? I might not finish the novel or webtoon, but I know better than to make fans upset. Fuck this movie. I hope the next webtoon, novel or both adaptation you do is better than this. I hate YJH and LJH shipper just because of the cast, their family, so please, and don't just go giving 5 stars just because of the cast. A movie isn't just about its cast, but about the work that had been put in by the directors/team. But I would rate this a -1/10. This surely isn't orv but its sure something that came out of your mouth when you forgot about the plot. how did you think of him as a bully? I just found out that he(KDJ) hates TWSA, ok what... HE READ IT FOR YEARS, WDYM HE HATES IT? HE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO KEPT READING IT TILL THE END. IT'S ALWAYS THERE THROUGH HIS UPS AND DOWNS I MEAN. Sorry if my grammar is bad , English is my second language or im being mean, but im just tryna be brutally honest. Everything that is written is all imo and everyone has a chance to give their own thoughts in this movie!(edit)Was this review helpful to you?

This is NOT my Orv
Every single thing I heard about this movie made me hate it more and more even before it released. What do you mean THE Kim Dokja wants to save the world? What do you mean he hates twsa? What do you mean Yoo Jonghyuk is a side character in twsa? What do you mean Heewon is the main character of twsa? And much more questions. All of this was different in the novel and the thing that pisses me of the most is how they made Sangah a healer? Wtf? That's just plain misogyny and the worst part is the novel already has a female healer that they didn't put in the movie so this was just so unnecessary. Sangah's whole character is built around her defiance against misogyny. She's one of the strongest incarnations in Seoul with a kill count that can't be numbered but of course nothing of that matters and she got reduced to a female savior for the main character😐Was this review helpful to you?

VERY INACCURATE, HORRIBLE PORTRAYAL
As someone who read and loved Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, watching Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy was a deeply frustrating experience. The movie takes the complex, layered narrative of the novel and reduces it to a simplified, commercial action flick that barely resembles the source material.First and foremost, the characters are completely mishandled. Kim Dokja’s depth — his psychological struggle, inner monologues, and slow evolution — is lost entirely. In the film, he’s portrayed as a generic hero with none of the quiet intensity or existential weight that makes him compelling in the novel. Yoo Joonghyuk is similarly mischaracterized, coming off as one-dimensional and overly emotional instead of the cold, calculating regressor fans know. Their dynamic, one of the most nuanced parts of the story, is glossed over in favor of comedy and forced drama.
Key arcs and plot points are either completely altered or omitted. The film skips the early scenarios that define the tone of the story and instead jumps into flashy high-stakes battles without context. Crucial concepts like the Constellations, Scenarios, Fables, and Dokja’s Reader status are either watered down or poorly explained, making the narrative incomprehensible for newcomers and insulting for fans. Additionally, they made the important parts of story such as Dokjas love for the novel that saved his life and his backstory that shaped him, the story and its impact completely irrelevant; they changed it all.
It’s not just a bad adaptation — it feels like the creators didn’t even read the novel or respect the intelligence of its fanbase. Worse still, the thematic heart of the novel — self-worth, loneliness, identity, and the meaning of stories — is completely missing. The movie trades introspection for action, wit for explosions, and originality for clichés. It feels like a product designed to capitalize on the IP’s popularity without any real effort to capture what made it special.
In the end, Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy isn’t just a poor adaptation — it’s a disservice to a story that deserved so much more. By stripping away the novel’s emotional complexity, rich world-building, and philosophical core, the film reduces a groundbreaking narrative into generic spectacle. Whether you’re a long-time fan or a curious newcomer, this version fails to deliver on nearly every front. If you’re looking to experience the true magic of Omniscient Reader, do yourself a favor and read the novel — the movie doesn’t even come close.

Things to recall
First if all, I know many will check my account why I'm a new user, well congrats cause I am who just finished watching and somehow found my way here. Anyway first of all, no hate for the actors why I only give them 3 star it's not because their acting is bad, it's good actually, the only good thing in the entire film. I only give this rate because of loopholes that didn't even given proper explanation (like the 10-0 agreement that it was supposed to be 5-5) and the butchery they did.First of all kdj...🫠I don't even know we're to start, cause what do you mean they made him a bully, when he was the one being bullied in the original? What do you mean he hated the ending, when he said he love it when he is still a kid. I could still accept him having the 'writer' skills (even though he doesn't have that in the original) because making your own decisions in a scripted world can be considered writing your own story. Butttt, changing his personality and background is a big NO. They even let him save Kim namwoo (bully in original who plan to kill the grandma) in the 1st scenario when he is the one who killed him in the original. Anyway just no.
2nd of all, changing their weapons that resonate for their skills, or just technically change the use of their skill. 🫠I don't even wanna start, cause they completely change all of it. Big shout out to Jisoo-nim for completely having your character vibe, but sadly, not having any proper scenes expect for her action scenes 😭hell if they only follow her character settings Jisoo-nim well shine more.
3rd of all, and maybe the last because it hurts my heart just remembering the film. For those who haven't read the original, they well only watch it for the actors. And even I a reader watch it just to support my favorite actors their but rating it high for them, is the only thing I can't do, because I also love the original story of the characters of ORV, not Omniscient Reader: The prophet. Well I watch it again? No, watching it once to show my support for the actors is enough for me, watching it again is like watching the original story comes to ruin or just seeing a new dimensions with this film. I'll rather choose to support my fav actors by watching their other films rather watching this again. Anyway if you plan to rate this, please 🙏 just please rate it by basing the storyline in the original story, anyway that's all, thank you .

THIS ADAPTATION SHOULDN'T EXIST
You didn’t adapt ORV. You just used its name. From the moment they announced the cast, it was already giving POPULARITY over accuracy. Jisoo as Lee Jihye? Lee Minho as Junghyook? Be serious. Did they even read the novel? Jihye is one of the most uniquely written characters in ORV—“We added the gun because Lee Jihye js not interesting enough” my ass. She didn’t need the gun, Jisoo does. She had her sword because she’s literally the incarnation of the Martial General. They didn’t give her a gun because of plot, they did it because Jisoo couldn’t handle the stunts. Don’t reduce a whole character just because your idol can’t swing two swords.
And Bihyung. My fluffy brown-clothed dokkaebi 🥺. They turned him into a Labubu-looking creature. You really took the most beloved chaos creature in ORV and made him unrecognizable. I actually cried when I saw him. That was NOT my lovable bihyung.
But the worst part? This. The plot. The core of ORV is how much Dokja LOVED the novel. He lived, suffered, and D!ED because of that story. And the author? They wrote it for HIM! “This novel is just for that one reader.” That line DEFINES the whole thing. TLS123/Han Sooyoung shaped the plot to fit what Dokja needed—she literally created entire characters for him (Hayoung??). So to have her say “write it yourself”?? That’s not just OOC. That’s erasure. That's disrespect.
This isn’t a reinterpretation. It’s not a creative twist. It’s straight-up bowdlerization. A shallow, fame-chasing rewrite of something deeply personal to us, fragments. YOU CANNOT BE CALLED A FRAGMENT IF YOU WATCH THE LA. Don’t watch it.
