Trash. Don't even bother watching this adapted version, and instead just read the original novel or webtoon. Its leagues better than what this movie is. It's insulting to the og readers seeing all the weird and uneeded changes the director made in this movie and it completely feels like a plagiarized version of ORV instead of an actual adaptation. They could've listened to the complaints and criticism online and make changes that were desperately needed but noooo, they insisted on making Sangah a healer, KDJ hating twsa (the novel that LITERALLY saved his life), YJH being a side character (which is so STUPID??), heewon being the mc instead which, again, she wasnt even an important character in the og, AND kdj is a bully in the movie??? That's honestly crazy disrespectful to his character and backstory.
Final review: Trash. They could've made this a standalone movie and it would've done well, but the fact is based off of ORV? It deserves the hate. And the only people that would watch and enjoy this are the fans of the actors... Don't watch.

hot garbage
this isn't orv. it doesn't follow the novel, it doesn't follow the manhwa. it feels like I've read 50 shades of grey and some random girl made a vampire fanfiction of it and brougt it to the cinema with the same name and characters. but historically speaking this has not happened: 50 shades of grey got its own film and twilight despite being its insipration never used the same names of those characters, so why must this have to happen with orv? i say webtoon loves the sound of money but they are not read to lose exactly twice the revenue with the shit in going to unload with this live action the fans never in heaven asked. we novel readers know the importnce of the story being read through the phone, the value and singulairty of the characters and stories told, the themes and moral of the story, the director and actors are simply demonstrating the exact opposite. I'm really disappointed that this will be part of the legacy of this fandom but in the end I hope this film gets trashed for good.Was this review helpful to you?

You call this orv live action? What a joke. If you can't even adapt a manhwa/novel properly maybe just don't adapt at all. And the fact that the director didn't even read it and straight up adapted sounds like they're making making fun of us reader or something. READ THE NOVEL OR MANHWA INSTEAD YKK
We already know that this movie will not even follow a single thing from the novel nor the manhwa and we are right about that. This is an entirely different story than what ORV is. "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint" it's already in the title a Reader's Viewpoint but then why would they changed it into a PROPHET???!And then making this a Movie instead of a Series. Orv has too many chapters, so many important parts an they will summarized it? This la is not a good recommendation. K-drama fans will probably watch this and entirely miss a good story. ORV is not just a story it's KIM DOKJA. WE THE READERS SUFFERED WITH KIM DOKJA AND THEN THIS SH1T LA WE GOT IS HERE. WE TRULY ARE KIM DOKJA'S FRAGMENTS. IYKYK

Why am i here?
From the casting i knew that they were gonna make us so disappointed. They can't even make yjh hair look good bro. He not looking like the handsome bish like they described in the manhwa or novel. Those hairstylists had one job even the cosplayers has done it perfectly. And the fact that they spend much more money to the casting more than the movie hurts. As i said in the title, the director wanted to sponsor the actors by attaching the name of the most popular korean novel. A 30 yrs old lady acting as a high schooler. Is this a joke?? Aside from that they added gun. Where in the world did the student find that gun. Haha this is ridiculous. The actor's acting was so terrible. Of course they don't care cuase they got their payments. They already got a lot fans who will come to see their movie afterall. First time in my life as a kdrama fan I'm hating these actors. They could've done better but they didn't. Why watch the movie when I've read the better version
This story was for one reader "KIM DOKJA". The story continied for him, existed solely for him. This story was his salvation. You mfs changed the whole plot. Did you really think only the action scenes will make us satisfied. Do you even understand the depth of this story. Do you even know why the story existed? How will you guys save the world with such a messy plot. I hope this apocalype really fall upon you. So that you could understand why you should never mess with the original. Aside from that,vfx was bad,action scenes became a comedy,music was so so,acting was huh what should I say....go to hell actors...there are thousands of nameless actor who can act better then you but can't get the opportunity just because of your carelessnessWas this review helpful to you?

Did they even think of the author who worked his ass off for years to create this masterpiece. This is a total disrespects towards the author. He doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. You guys changed the core of the story now you ask why is the director the only one being hated not the author? Damn you're serious?? Never direct again bro because what the hell is this? First it was the labubu bihyoung, then the guns, then now Kim Dokja’s entire character, trauma, motivations, what kept him ALIVE is ruined. There was much potential to make a good live action, but you decided to make this instead. A disappointment, soulless, Ai generated like script that you shove into our faces and think we’d like? The only people who give 10 stars are bots, kdrama fans and blinks. No sensible person who has read one chapter of orv would like this. Honestly I’m so glad that this is flopping. But thanks for ruining the story Kim Dokja loved, that WE loved. I hope you flop so badly that you don’t produce another trashy movie with ORV’s name on it. A DISAPPOINTMENT IN KOREANS MANWHA'S AND NOVELS
Just like what this guys said that I found in one of the reviews "This movie has changed and disrespected the original source material to the point where it's completely unrecognizable, from the little details to the overall messages and symbolism that ORV tried to convey, everything had been completely butchered. As an adaptation, it fails in every aspect. As a movie, the cinematography is amateurish, the script sounds AI generated, the CGI is a joke, and some actors with major supporting roles are just completely sidelined for no particular reason; it's underwhelming, to say the least.This isn't a matter of an "accurate adaptation" anymore. This is setting a precedence for future adaptations to completely mess up a beloved story by removing all the aspects that make it good in the first place. ORV isn't loved because it's a generic male power fantasy, it's loved because the story subverts this. By stripping away everything to adhere to the general audience's expectations, there won't be anything left to love. There is genuinely so many things wrong with this movie from the erasure of Korean history to even misogyny (which wouldn't be noticed if viewers don't know the original story).

Kim dokja's love for twof would compete with this crap
I don't want to waste my time on it much so im gonna cut it short. Don't know who write this incredibly wrong scenario but dude, hell no. Dont ever try again. Like...you didn't even try? Its hella different than the novel, even our man dokja is different. He wouldn't like this version of himself. Im afraid he would even start a campaing to cancel this horrendous thing. Why call it live action when there is nothing alike with the original? Bro, i don't know what do we have to like or enjoy about it. Maybe the fact that the names didn't change...i appreciate that, beaches. I don't want this motherfather thing mingy associate with orv. Have some respect to the novel, characther, their personality, important traits and more importantly the readers. Nobody wanted this thing but almost everbody hating it. All of the consellations are dissapointed. I hope and pray with my all being for star stream to delete this weirdo movie's existence as if it never happened. Instead of watching, go read the masterpiece movie. And for our already f-up mental health, don't mention it to readers. Thank you. My english is nowhere near good so have some mercy. trash live action that no one wanted
i hope this shit will flop so hard that that misogynist director won’t have any reason to make up another shitty movie sequel.from the moment they prioritize casting famous actors i knew this movie is set to flop, cause that has to be the worst casting i’ve ever seen. only redeeming casting here is nana as heewon and the actress that acted sangha, which is such a waste bc they decided to be misogynist towards the female characters of this movie.
i fucking hate everything about this live action because first, the original author of the novel doesn’t even approved of this movie as naver (a misogynist company ofc) was the one who decided this masterpiece needed a live action no one even asked for. second, as i stated before, the fucking casting. besides the things i’ve said beforehand, the actor who is acting as dokja doesn’t even know the character he’s acting. the disrespect towards the original medium is loud and they consider themselves artists?? and that leads us to the third fucking reason, everyone in the production literally just disrespected the original source as well as the cultures written in it. they fucking changed everything that i can’t hardly call this my orv, atp they should just change everything from the title to the characters bc this is NOT MY ORV. they should’ve taken the netflix adaptation of kakegurui, it’s INSPIRED but not necessarily the og medium.
i have a lot more to say honestly but i’m just getting irritated again so i’ll leave it at that.
