~Both of them are coming-of-age dramas.
~The main leads of both the dramas met in their youth and together face various problems growing up and heal each other.
~Both,2521 and Upcoming summer explore the elements of first love, friendship, rejection, family, and character development.

Spoiler:-Both of them showed incredibly beautiful journeys of youth and also showed that not everything lasts forever...

Both series give very similar vibes of late 90's

Male and female lead meet nearby female lead's house

First they fight and then get to know eachother, the friendship begins

Both start sharing their personal problems with eachother.

Main lead is supportive and inspire the Female lead to do better in life and motivates her to persue her passion

Female lead makes Male lead realise the value of life and make him stronger.

Heroine have a doubt that the Hero likes the other girl because they were talking and having intimate conversation.

In both series female lead have a diary, keep cassettes, strict mother and have a similar haircut.

Career and life circumstances make them part their ways. They then realize how much they mean to eachother.

In both series ML and FL go to beach and have memorable trip of their life with their friends.

You will definitely love the journey of love, emotions and friendship!
Give it a try <3

- both are slice of life dramas focusing on youth
- the relationships in both dramas are beautiful and easy to grow attached to
- both have the two guys and 3 girls squad (sort of?)
- aadsig is more focused on trauma and healing, whereas 2521 is more sports-oriented. however if you like one of these shows, you will like the other as well

There's a similar feel of nostalgia and of being young; both romances start off as friends and cover a long period of time - both deal with suffering and loss and both take place partially in school and partially in adult life.

Both also have a FL who has to work very hard to achieve her goals (although the goals are quite different).

Both start in the past and then flash forward to the future and leave somewhat of a mystery of what happens to the leads. Both have kids in the future. Both talk about important events (political and social) during the time and the ML is older than the FL in both. OST is amazing and overall I think WMLB is a really underrated drama which deserves it's place among others.

Oh...
And a better ending ://

Both of the dramas have comedy and in both dramas the characters are facing IMF Crisis. Aslo the setting of both dramas is in 1990s.

I think the vibes feel a little similar to When the Camellia Blooms, also both sceneries are very pretty!

=> Both are Kim Tae Ri dramas
=> Fencing is featured in both dramas
=> The coach in Twenty Five Twenty One is also in Mr Sunshine as the mother of one of the female lead's suitors
=> I'm particularly using this comparison for Twenty Five Twenty One fans to watch Mr Sunshine as Mr Sunshine is underrated among international fans and new Kim Tae Ri fans should check it out.

Both of these dramas are romances centres around sports. Twenty-five Twenty-one focuses on fencing while cheer up revolves around a college cheer squad. Both drama's have FL as their main centre character, however on a few occasions the narrative in Twenty-five Twenty-one switches to the ML and also the FL daughter. There is a sense of mystery to both dramas; in Twenty-five Twenty-one you are constantly left in a will they won't they state regarding the main character relationship, whereas Cheer Up is more mysterious in that someone is out to get the FL.

We only have two episodes of Twenty-Five Twenty-One but I think if you like this show then you'd really enjoy When We Were Young.

When We Were Young is a Chinese show about students in the year 1996, so there is a similar vibe going on between these two shows. Although When We Were Young doesn't have an age gap between the two leads, this show does well to really create the curiosity of "Will they get in the future?" from the viewers (like we get from 2521).

It's very wholesome and full of fun family and friendship relationships. Even though we don't know much about how the rest of 2521 will play out, I think When We Were Young is a good show to watch after/when watching 2521.

If you love Kim Tae Ri then this is a great follow up series. She plays a youthful main character in both of these titles and embodies her characters so well!
