Happily Ever After
This is an epilogue released some time after the final episode of The Sleepless Princess and I almost missed it. The epilogue in effect is an alternative ending to what was released in episode 35. Here, Xue Yao doesn't jump off the cliff holding a sleeping Xu Chu Yue in his arms. She wakes up in the nick of time and they make up all their lost time together, traveling the world.To make it even sweeter for the distraught viewers, the production team also added life after they get together. They have a child who Xu Xing Chen is babysitting while the lover birds are honeymooning. Xu Xing Chen by now is the Emperor. Accordingly, the couple is like being glued together and has been living away from everyone for the last 4 years. Between them, they have a private wedding vow with no elaborate feast. Their married life is an ideal life for any couples - traveling the world just by themselves, without the kids. However, at times, they're also like normal parents, worried about and protective over their kid.
The epilogue also includes all the things that are not concluded properly previously and gives everything proper closures. All the other second couples finally have their happy endings. I believe this happy ending makes many viewers very happy too.

Happy ever after
After watching Episode 35 of The Sleepless Princess I was on tenterhooks waiting for the epilogue. Thankfully it was a happy ending. It’s 31 minutes duration with first half of ML, FL , their son Xue Meng ( 盟 meaning Oath) and XC . It was 4 years after Dongshi released the poisonous smoke. The second half was for the rest of the second leads and their happy ending. The second half could have been shorter, I prefer to watch ML and FL. I enjoyed the main theme song Sleep ( opening scene in the carriage)sung by ZYC and HYX.Was this review helpful to you?
Must watch sweet, funny romance story!
This is by far one of the best and most underrated dramas I have watched this year!!! I hope that more people will give it a try so its rating will go up.Im a sucker for love triangles and this has the right mix of romcom and bittersweet love. The male lead is a stone faced general and the female lead is an innocent unfavored, adopted princess. The second male lead is her adopted brother and like all great second male leads, he would do anything for the female lead. LET ME REPEAT (to avoid confusion and disgust), the female lead and 2nd male lead are NOT related. The emperor adopted her and everyone knows it so no weird, incestous side plots here.
The magical element of the zodiac birthstone makes this story very original as well. I often skip or drop dramas because of how slow and bad the writing gets, but this is an exception. What are you waiting for? Give it a try! PS watch the special/alternative ending after you finish! :)

Happy ending with continuation issues
I am more than happy to accept this happy ending version for this couple and this drama, but only the first half in which she wakes up and they live happily together. If I have to accept the second half of the episode, then it doesn't really make sense how the first half is possible.The second half is about the secondary and even the potential third couple. The second couple Nanan and Luo Ji, I'm fine with, but it's the third couple's storyline that doesn't make sense. Naxi and the other prince's romantic storyline doesn't make sense as they show that she goes back to him during the poison smoke. However, chuyue already changed that and that's why she fell asleep. That's the timeline that we're on, so the whole part about Naxi saving the prince during poison smoke is impossible--it didn't happen. Now, if they somehow met again at a later time and fell in love, then maybe. But not during the new timeline.

Enjoyed the alternative end
It was a good alternative. Here the showed how everyone lives turned out. In this show they have a son meng A4 and yes 4/5, yes old. While Ex general Xue Yao and XU Chu yue travel all around they leave mengar with her brother xu Chen ling the new emporer. Meng sr is driving everyone crazy, as he writes letter of complaint and some good to his sister she learn that over 1000ltr were sent and hidden by hubby. So they decided to give me gar a sister. Then we go back to prince Ning who finally got married to Xian, naanaa is With Luo ji(hot). The Emperor is still single ?wish he found someone I hoped for taoyao and him,but i don't remember if she was saved or went to heaven with xue mu. A very nice ending.Was this review helpful to you?

Awesome Ending
I am very glad coz i read the comment in this page and discovered this alternate ending. At the end of ep35 i noticed the flower petal fell onto princess face and thought that she gonna wake up afterward.. but after several flashback, the ending seems like the general wanted to commit suicide at edge of the cliff instead.. i was quite frustrated with this ending...Luckily i found out that this drama got another ep36 whereby the princess did woke up and wipe the general's tears and they happily live together ever after.. funny to see princess' brother (who became the king) needs to take care the couple's son while they went on very long honeymoon.. lol.. a very satisfying ending for me.. worth rewatching thousands time..
Happy also to see another 3 couples with happy ending.. but sad to recall princess' maid who die in previous episode...
The whole storyline was properly wrapped and really hope to rewatch with proper english sub in future..
I am now officially signing as FL fan (initially decided to watch this drama due to yicheng).. not many Cdrama actress that i like & she is definitely top 5.. will definitely watch her other drama..

Thank God That This Has An Extended Ending
When I had almost reached the end of 35 episode mark, I was wondering how they were gonna salvage the ending and they didn't at the time. There was literally a cliffhanger. Had the ML taken 2 more steps they would have been a goner for sure.It was good to see this extended version where the FL got to be happy and all the other characters received their own happily ever after.
