Wanted dead or …dead circumventing the Yu family

This episode had a lot going on. First was admitting to a chosen few that Zhao Ling was still alive. TingYun used her stores with the same gold weight Yus used to show the people that different measures were being used. JiuWeiJia read Shen’s letters and got the first gold weight. He the. Headed to the capital while his team went to all the other villages and recovered their false weights. Yu is losing it and knows killing Shen Congsi was a huge mistake. This was the lynchpin that ultimately unraveled his organized crime of fraud throw out the region. Jin Yuan Bao was overjoyed to hear he was not responsible for Zhao Ling’s death and confessed o colluding with Yu to frame Zhao Ling. He received 80 strikes to have that officially added to Yu’s list of charges. A very interesting aside was YaKe’s assist with a ledger containing all the faction leaders’ names. Each required a step of faith from the other to accomplish their goals. Ya Ke got to leave and in the poetry chest was hidden the ledger but TingYun had to bother looking for it to know it was there. She sent this via monk to the court as the charges were being listed. Zhao Ling also included the death of TingYun’s mother to his list of charges. Ms Wu warned TingYun about the death warrant out for Zhao Ling and this gave her time to get Ms Wang to have the general and willing men help get Zhao Ling home safely. While this was a criminal act the emperor stripped him of his military commission, but assigned him as a chief consultant of the Yu case. He finished up all the accusations with the shortchanges to the military via the sabotaged salt for grain trades. The walls of the Yu house are crashing down and his cronies are like rats running from a sinking ship. This was a satisfactory run of events and I appreciated the smirk the emperor had for Yu’s predicament. We were cheated of couple time but at least we can be sure they will live long enough to get some.😝It was a good day for the northwest to stick up for one of their own even when contrary to emperor’s law about organized troops. This type of loyalty is something the Yus can never have because they prefer bribery and fear to true partnership and weathering storms together. Only one more episode with so much to wrap up and so little time left.

So many wins!

After so many losses, we finally got an episode with so many wins! 🥳They got the golden weight and other evidence. Even Mr Jin stepped forward to right his wrongs, even though he most likely got beaten to death (I really don't think he survived that). 😌And Yake provided a very important document that reveals all of Minister Yu's allies, which could have been lost if Tingyun had disposed of her gift... And I am overall kind of satisfied with Yake's ending, because in my eyes she has redeemed herself with all the help and change of heart she had in these last few episodes. And since Tingyun has also forgiven her, I see no reason to dislike her anymore. 🥹Loved to see some combat scenes with DYX, as we didn't get that many in total throughout the drama, contrary to what I expected. AND THE NORTHWEST ARMY CAME! Oh, how I cheered! Of course, that will cost Commander Wang his post and rank, but, hey — Northwesterners stand together! 🤗The final minutes of the episode were particularly satisfying, where one minister after another just stepped forward and impeached Minister Yu for many different embezzlements, murders, and other crimes. 👏
