Cliche, Cheesy, Candy (Eye) with a Cold CEO

Sometimes the sum of the parts are just not the whole. when i put the starts for Story/Acting, etc... the recommended rating for this is 5.5, but I rate it 8. Nothing about this drama drove me crazy and nothing thrilled me beyond usual. It was simply just a drama for leisure time - perfectly fine... so 8 is the enjoyment rating for me... because of those cheesy lines that made me smile because they were so cheesy...
If you are like me and you sometimes need a fluffy bit of pretty to mindlessly consume, this is just fine.
Of course: if you can't stand the same old same old , than this is not for you.
It is essentially a predictable romcom with a "flash" of fantasy - actually it is a shame they did not make use of the fantasy elements a bit more.

What I mean by predictable:
-cold CEO finds one true love and becomes best boyfriend
-FL is the only one who can cure ML
-mandatory amnesia storyline
-ML has 1 or 2 other women trying to break them up!
-FL has another suitor - love triangle but not
-FL and ML have to spend 24/7 together for some reason
-FL works for ML
-meddling grandparent
-leads are either orphan or from a single parent family

What I mean by "flash" of fantasy-
-2ML has a moment early on where he reflects on his journey - then nothing until the final episodes and that time they just gloss over who he is without explanation on why, when how!
-FL can cure ML - but then later the explanation of who she is does not really explain why?

But all of this is indicative of the drama itself being bits of other dramas of its genre - just put together with cringy moments and lots of "skinship" to keep you watching. And they did keep me watching all the way to the end. I was in the mood for the silly stuff. So if you are too, it is certainly fine to skip through ?

Random but still somewhat watchable

Its a random weird drama that starts out super cliche "rich ceo tricks poor FL into working for him just to keep her around" for the first 4 episodes I was really questioning if i wanted to keep watching, but I slowly started getting interested. I wanted to watch the whole thing to find out what the heck is going on as well as why on earth there is sooo many good looking guys in one drama!?!
It has a story that for me at least started predictable, became interesting, then slowly it went back to being recycled tired old tropes as we race to the ending. A few questions have been answered but one of the biggest things about the series still hasn't really been touched on that much. Since I've already watched 20 episodes, I'm going to go ahead and keep going for the final 4 as soon as I find them subbed in english. If there was still 10 more episodes, I'd honestly be dropping it just because they brought a VERY overused plot device into the show and it really killed the momentum.
update to add: I finished by sheer force of will.

In conclusion:
Music is unnoticeable and unremarkable
Story HAD a good hook that is underutilized
Actors are pure eye candy
Tons of tropes
Would only recommend if you're patient and have time to kill waiting for something beefier

You can pass by without loss ¯\ಠ_ಠ/¯

An average drama, on the Rich/poor trope, but Peter Sheng as ML.

PLOT: meeting between a FL, florist + small jobs, and the ML, cold CEO of a group and genius sculptor. The FL resembles the "Flying fairy", a sculpture passed down from generation to generation in the ML family. The grandfather will therefore push the FL towards the ML.

PROS:
+ A plot that had potential.
+ Peter Sheng as ML and a bunch of handsome actors.

CONS:
- Slightly sluggish beginnings, too cliché & FL = inexpressive doll => FF until ep. 12.
- I disagree with other comments on the Bai Bin's character. He lacks charisma. The storyline get a little better when Bai Bin is out!
But alas, this one-side-lover returns to "authoritarian" mode later, a character that I personally find unbearable. He arrogates to himself the right to dictate her behavior to a woman under the pretext that he loves her... Yuck, yuck, yuck!
- ALL the possible clichés in this series : rival family, love rivals, Romeo & Juliet couple, attempted murder, amnesia, unhappy reincarnated lovers, ... and so on ლಠ益ಠ)ლ

I am a Peter Sheng fan, but I've the felling that i've wasted my time
****************************************************************************

Suite mieux, quand Bai Bin est out !
ლಠ益ಠ)ლ

Typical boss and employee romance drama with a little bit of suspense

If you are willing to watch this drama after seeing the fantasy tag in the genre option then be prepared to have some patience . For the first 10 episodes, it still look like a typical boss and employee relationship cdrama where the ML has a sickness and FL is his cure. But this time ML makes sculpture which is a new thing in cdrama for me. Only few moments are appearing where the ML and FL are wearing historical costumes. Most probably they have a back story in ancient period or something . In the first 10 episodes, only these types of mini suspense are making me to look forward the upcoming episodes as of now. .Except these parts it still seems like a typical Chinese office rom com .I really don't know how much can I take it .

Edit~ I think a lot of good dramas and movies are in my watch list. It's better not to give my times over this one . Dropped .

Meh! She chose the wrong guy, IMO

I haven't much to say about this drama. It was okay but not memorable. In my opinion, she chose the wrong guy. I preferred Bai Bing to ML. I didn't have anything against ML - he was alright - but for me, he was blah. Just a little too stiff, a little to unemotional. Kind of like a plank of wood. I mean, come on, what kind of sculptor wears a suit while sculpting? Of course, that's the costume designer's fault, but I'm sorry, I just couldn't take him seriously as a sculptor when he's sitting at a desk in a tie. I expect a sculptor to be in a studio with his hands dirty. Bai Bing wasn't the most expressive dude, but at least I got a sense of quiet longing from him. The other couples weren't memorable either. So, all I can say about this drama is 'meh'. It manages to avoid some of those really annoying C-drama plot devices like delusional women and tyrannical parents, but the romance just wasn't there to make up for it. The MC's chemistry was zero.

Started off decent and tripped up along the way

This could have been a lot stronger if the acting wasn't so subpar. It felt like the director called people who had the 'look' he wanted and said show up and act like yourself. The ML and FL both beautiful looking. You would think with all the kissing scenes, the chemistry would be better. But the pressed lip smudge kisses totally don't work. The FL started to work a nerve mid-way because acting super naive in one area and courageously bold in another showed no balance in character development. Also, everyone does not need to be in a coma or have amnesia in some way. Throwing that in during the last few episodes took away from the main storyline. The SML obsession of a 1000-year promise was lacking in the story and gave no real weight to the importance of it all. I think the writers realized that in the end and tried to make it all make sense in the last few episodes which fell short. Abusive mother and mastermind behind bad things happening in the story didn't hit the mark either. You could have cut all of her scenes and the story would have remained the same and/or probably better because (the bad things) could have been placed on the SML which would have made more sense in the competition over the FL and power struggle. The OST was forgettable Yet, all in all it was okay.

Another demeaning to women rich man get poor weak minded female at end.

I hope this will change.

Where do they get these gullible women from? For some reason Chinese dramas most of the time have mindless, weak, yank me around and I will not do anything to you, women. The story line is great, but right now it is coming up short. The men are always demeaning the women and strong arming them. The women just take it. Female lead goes for money digging. Come on! Make a Romantic drama that both men and women are on equal footing. I watch a lot of these and the Writers and Producers, so the same thing weak minded role women and demeaning to women, rich, I can do what I want men. I make the Chinese women to appear out for money. So far this one is starting to look the same as the others.

Let me get this straight: A rich man meets a total stranger, claiming she is a fairy from a painting. The female is just as gullible weak minded believes him and agrees to be by his side. Now she is wearing fancy dresses and going to dances. Come on! It makes the lady look pretty bad. Mindless to the inth degree.

This story line is going from bad to worse. I am tired of seeing Chinese romantic dramas where women are mindless, weak and they allow the rich male demean them. All the ML has to do is wave enough money in front of them or give them a bull story, FL believe them every time. If a father saw a man coming from his daughter room, the man would get a frying pan upside the head. No! all he did was cry. The daughter would of been kicked out of the house especially in Asian families, they are strict.

It's a waste of time to watch this more than once.
