In 2006, Sanada Rio lived in a country village where a missing person case took place. Rio later studied in the pharmacy department at a university in Tokyo. Now, at the age of 30, Rio takes the CEO position at Sanada Wellness, which is a subsidiary of Sanada Holdings. Rio’s mother runs Sanada Holdings. Rio receives attention from the media and public because of her young age as a CEO. Rio then becomes a material witness in a series of murder cases. The murder cases took place recently and is somehow related to the missing person case from 2006. Three lawyers on Rio's side try to protect her. Meanwhile, a detective, whose first love was Rio, chases after the truth behind the cases.

One day Mio attends a middle school reunion and is reunited with her first love, Shuichi. Her love is rekindled when the guy approaches her, but they get caught up in an incident where members of the reunion start dying one after another.

A pawn shop owner in Osaka is murdered, but due to a lack of conclusive evidence the police lists the man's death as a suicide. As time goes by, more mysterious deaths surround Yukiho and Ryouji. Detective Sasagaki still unable to let go of the pawn shop owner case discovers startling details about Yukiho and Ryouji.

His persistent search brings attention to the long forgotten case and reveals a hidden relationship between the victim's son and the neighborhood woman's daughter. As their love grows, more crimes happen. As their sin grows, the inspector's chase comes closer to them.

Both features a forbidden relationship between the suspect and the police officer, and have some painful mystery to uncover. But Tengoku to Jigoku has some supernatural themes, while Saiai doesn’t. Tengoku to Jigoku is also more comedic than Saiai.

Both have the same genre, romance, thriller, mystery, melodrama. The couple in both drama has party in the police/detective force. The detective lover suspicious of their lover, many plot twist… happy ending

the storytelling, characters and the music is intriguing and suspensful in both and in both dramas you have to watch until the end to find out what actually happened
