Echoes of the Thunder (2020)

The story revolves around Kira and Rei, two high school students. Kira is an extremely introverted artist, and Rei is an outgoing playboy with a frightening violent side. The two start a friendship and eventually a romance after Rei sees a drawing that Kira drew on the back of a map she gave him. However, both Kira and Rei are hiding troubled pasts, and through their relationship they confront their past demons. Masao, a student at Kira and Rei's school, has a connection to Rei's violent past. He enters Kira and Rei's lives to try to force Rei to return to the person he used to be.

The story centers on a young man named Akio Asakura, a 3rd-year high school student who salvages "Devil Z", a custom-tuned Datsun Fairlady S30Z car with a supposedly cursed history despite not having a driver's license and having no idea how to operate a manual transmission...

Hiyama Atsuhiro is a car mechanic and an engineer at Spica Racing Factory. Hiyama Naozumi is a troublemaker yet a talented young driver for Spica Racing Factory, who hopes to advance to the World Rally Championship. He is also Atsuhiro's younger brother. The siblings always fight about Naozumi reckless driving and an awful mood begins to drift to the team as well. One day, Hikaru Endo become Naozumi's agent, however, she is clueless about the world of car racing.

Junya and Aberu work part-time at a scrap yard run by Junya’s family. Junya has debt to pay off and takes part in theft. One day, he steals a luxury car. He finds a mysterious woman in the car's trunk. Her hands and feet are tied.

Akahoshi is a drifter with great car knowledge who travels from town to town aimlessly until he starts working at Sakurai Motors. The motor competition in town is tough though, and a battle between the top motor shop in town and Sakurai Motors soon ensues...

Kira Aso is a high school student with an introverted personality. When she was a child, her father died in a car accident caused by a motorcycle gang. Now, she sketches the sea every day during her spring break. One day, Rei Kashino rides his motorcycle and sees Kira Aso sketching the sea. He sits next to her. Kira isn't used to talking to guys and isn't friendly to Rei Kashino.
The new semester begins. Kira Aso meets Rei Kashino as her classmate. Rei Kashino doesn't get interested in a particular style of girls, but he becomes interested in Kira Aso. Harumi Sugihara, who likes Rei, and Tatsuya Kida, who is Rei ’s friend, are surprised in Rei's interest in Kira.
Makio Kirishima graduated from the same middle school as Rei Kashino and transfers to the same high school as Rei. The relationship between Kira Aso and Rei Kashino changes.
