You Are My Spring is one of those dramas that tries to do a lot
—and while not every piece fits perfectly, what it does get right feels quietly powerful. It’s a healing romance wrapped inside a psychological mystery, with characters who are hurting deeply but still trying to move forward, one step at a time.Seo Hyun-jin delivers a deeply nuanced performance as Da-jeong, a woman carrying emotional trauma from childhood yet still capable of so much empathy. Kim Dong-wook is equally compelling as Young-do, a psychiatrist with his own wounds and soft-spoken strength. Their relationship feels gentle and grown-up, built not just on chemistry, but understanding and shared pain.
The drama starts off with a haunting atmosphere—there's a murder, secrets, and layers of psychological tension—but it’s not a thriller in the traditional sense. At its core, this is a story about broken people finding peace. The cinematography is beautiful, the tone is introspective, and the OST captures that bittersweet vibe perfectly.
That said, the mystery subplot can feel uneven. Sometimes it distracts from the emotional core rather than deepening it. And while the pacing remains consistent, a few episodes could’ve benefitted from tighter storytelling. Still, it’s a meaningful and comforting watch for those who resonate with the idea that healing is messy, non-linear, and absolutely worth the journey.

Dramas can teach more than one can think and one can find solutions to the lacks we seem to be programmed to live with, with the idea that finding a way out is impossible.What I will say is, first you are not responsible for your childhood traumas and when you are aware of them, work on not feeding them. It takes time but surely, you'll discover your real self.
Second, love is a beautiful thing and if you have an incurable disease or difficult condition, it does not mean that your genuine person cannot love nor be loved but, nobody knows the day and the hour, live the fullest possible being happy and making others around you smile too, there is nothing to loose at that level.
Third, when you love, it's ok. Love does not hurt, only we, do that to ourselves and each other. There is nothing bad in being authentic and real because those are attributes and part of the nature of Love.
Love is not a state of feeling but more a state of Being that we use feelings to decode.
Each time there is a lesson to learn in order to grow and and uplift yourself in a K drama, go for it.

You Are My Psychiatrist AKA Trauma Bonding
There is a comment to be made about psychiatrists dating, loving, diagnosing, healing their patients but, technically, she wasn't a patient during working hours. The writer brushed that off by having ML to pull up the "If you were my patient, I would have asked you this...." By no metric this should've been longer than 8 episodes. The slow dreamy scenes and extensions didn't serve a purpose, they didn't enhance a scene, build an atmosphere, have a cinematic purpose, or contribute to the story. I think they wanted to associate pretty nicely shot slow-mo scenes with it being a cute show? Such things would only work if they struck at the right moment, not every moment. Some cognitive things didn't need to be portrayed on screen to convey a piece of information, like the ML lead forgetting the fridge door open to tell us he was distracted. It's okay to have a few sprinkled here and there but the drama was infested with such scenes. The first 3 episodes were a bit too boring but I stuck with it to see more of this supposed "mystery", of which, there was barely any mystery after that. This was supposed to be the secondary main plot but ended up being less important than most of the insignificant side plots like Da Jung's mother or Ga Young's trainer (btw what happened to the trainer?). The drama didn't know what it wanted to be so we had an uneven mix of genres and themes. Observing the characters, there was something off about their behavior, like an imitation through a fancy lens. Not only through their portrayal but also through their driven narrative. The drama had a lot of inner monologue and self-narration to fill its time but most of them were a hit or miss and didn't provide a deeper connection as they hoped. The drama was supposed to show the healing process but both leads didn't have more than a couple of scenes where they properly talked.Was this review helpful to you?

just okay-ish
Had the potential to be really interesting but something felt off.....I didn't really comprehend the story of Ian Chase and his brother....I mean I got the picture but it felt fragmented and very complicated......I think the story being told in flashbacks and them being identical twins also added to my confusion.....I liked the relationship between Kang Da Jung and her mom the best......The main's lead romance was cute and sweet....a typical k-drama one but still nice to see......I would have liked to see the pairing between Eun Ha and Tae Joon fleshed out....Was this review helpful to you?
OK story, but the pace is way too slow
This seems like two separate stories mixed-- a romance and on-off crime investigation. The two lead actors did a nice job. Some commentors thought the leads didn't have chemistry and I can see why they thought that. However, I think the issue is that both leads were portraying introverts in a slow show. It's the writing and directing that made them boring.For me the super slow pacing was the problem. Lots of scenes of the lead actors staring into space or silently judging, walking aimlessly endlessly (through parks, along streets, the beach, up and down stairs), and hanging out drinking coffee or whatever.... then, more scenes of the same. The show improved when I started watching a 1.5x speed. No need to watch this one again.

It's a slow-burn romance ....
I expected this drama to be a psychological mystery-thriller with a little bit romance as a side plot. Turns out the show is actually a slow-burn romance drama with a detached murder case worth 5-10 min of each episode. I guess that’s why I couldn’t help but be disappointed in this show. The cinematography is great and some scenes were really beautiful and moving, but that couldn't make up for the lacking plot. Literally nothing happened. That’s so unfortunate, especially because the first two episodes looked so promising. I gave up on the show after 12 episodes and watched the rest in skipping motions just to know what happens (little spoiler: almost nothing). I don’t know, if you like a show full of cute and pretty scenes, deep dialogues and little drama, you might like “You are my Spring”. If you are mainly here because you are interested in the murder-mystery aspect, you are definitely going to be disappointed.Was this review helpful to you?
Good character development and all characters rather friendly likeable and well intended .
Th murder story had me puzzled until its denouement . Yoon Park frozen statuesque attitude was heavy . I felt like shaking him . It left me cold and irritated . That side of the story could have been sped up .
On the whole a good series which I will watch again .

Not Sure Why This Isn't Getting More Love
The cinemaphotography is both unusual and gorgeous and *completely* sets the mood for some scenes; the acting is subtle, yet expressive. Has this been marketed wrong as a fluffy romance?!? There are just enough characters to make it dimensional without losing focus on the mains.Crime, comedy, romance, heart, grit... it has it all. The writing staff deserves a big hug or a round of beers. Actually, they deserve both.
Honestly, the best drama - K or otherwise - I have seen in years.
Really hoping it doesn't run out of good steam.

A Healing & Mature Love Story
A hotel concierge & a psychiatrist with traumatic childhoods form a heartfelt bond while becoming entangled in a perplexing murder case.I loved this drama. The familial ties, the deep bonds of friendship, the mix of workplace relationships - they’re all portrayed so perfectly within the episodes. I really enjoyed the way they delve into & reveal the different characters’ stories. That can so often be dull & detract from the drama’s main plot, but here they managed to enhance the story rather than distract the viewers. Well done, writers!
I knew going into this drama that it was going to be more of a melodrama due to the topic & synopsis. I did not, however, know that it was going to have so many humorous moments that made the characters so darn real & relatable!
I was rooting for our Leads from moment one. Their chemistry was immediate, though they didn’t recognize it as such. I loved the friendship they developed on a foundation of mutual respect & trust. I loved how they always supported one another & instinctively sought each other out. Their connection was truly heart warming - experiencing them falling in love amidst the crazy circumstances; seeing them both learn to heal & become victorious over their past traumas… so satisfyingly beautiful.
Everyone has a story to tell. And every single story matters.
I highly recommend this drama if you’re wanting a solid story portrayed by a talented cast with great chemistry. This is a drama where adults act their age while facing real life struggles in mature ways. A healthy romance that’s a must-watch, imho!

Drama you shouldn't missed
2021 best rom drama ever . The chemistry between the Main lead are just too adorable 😍❤ Seo Hyun Jin Drama Never Fail me 🥰😘 over all my favorite actress and not forgetting the chemistry between Yoon Park And Hyun Jin aaaa Speechlesss. This is my first time watching Kim dong Wook drama and I'm already falling in love with him ❤😘this drama is too Good Best Drama Awards Deserving Please Fully Support. well paced, good story, beautiful acting
This drama just recently caught my eyes, and immediately I'm hooked. Watched all episodes 1 to 6 in a day. Don't know how to put it, is it a love story? a mystery/thriller? But one thing for sure, so far, everything are just beautifully done. The story, the paced, the characters. There's a good mix of things that make it kinda special. The characters have a good backstory that really can justify the way they response in each situation, something that a lot of drama don't have. Hopefully the writer and director can maintain the quality of this drama till the very end. Based on 6 episodes that I've watched, this is a really good drama. Oh.. and the reason i'm giving this only an 8, is because it only has 6 episodes aired when i write this review. Looking forward for new episodes to air.Was this review helpful to you?
