boredom to no end

when i first saw the trailer, i was really excited to watch this movie, i thought "wow, this looks promising". Google the actors, i thought "wow, these are good actors". So i get my hopes kinda high. Make time to watch it as soon as i possibly can. Well, what a disappointment. The story is so flat. What you see in the trailer is everything with a little bit of suspense in it, all the other scenes are just bleh. This is not a horror movie, it's a drama, and a boring one too. So boring that i kinda almost fell asleep so many times, i really had to force my self to finish it. Give it a try if you want to support the actors, but don't expect this to be a horror story.

Hyped up for no reason

I'm so excited to watch this drama, because all the great reviews and how so many people love it. I have such a high expectations, but, oh boy, what a disappointment. I'm forcing my self to finish all the episodes, hoping that along the line the it will eventually get better. But, nope... TT TT
First of all, the story is dragging too too much, this drama shouldn't be this long. And then there's the female lead. I don't know why the writer had to write her like that, so annoying, and to make it worst, Jin Mi was not performed well by Yang Zi. The two male leads however is quite enjoyable to watch. Leo Luo done a great job with his character. If you like a fantasy love story it's still watchable with a lot of skipping and fast forwards

beautiful writing beautiful story

So far I've watched 13 episodes, hopefully it'll be as good till the end. Everywhere I see people praising this drama for it's the portrayal of autism, it's great, love it, but that's not what I like most about this drama. What I love most about it, what I think made this drama so good, is how each characters are complicated people, they're all has their good and bad side, all are gray like all of us. Something rare in dramaland. Each episodes share many problematic things in this world that we need to pay more attention to. Each episodes made us think more about social problem that often got shoved to the side. Each episodes made us contemplate more on how we should live our life, be a better person.

old

This drama glorify a narcissistic middle aged man that can't even do the bare minimum as a husband and a father. This selfish man, a gold digger, live off of his wife's money, but act like he's the wisest kindest greatest man. Like that family owed him something, when actually he was the one that owed everything to them. He never respect his wife nor his son, disregarding their feeling, and demand them to go along with anything he wants. No one was allowed question his action. Every decision he made was absolute. Everyone was obligated to immediately forgive and forget any of his wrong doings. He never acknowledge his mistakes or sincerely ask any forgiveness. He even gaslight his wife, whenever she express any personal thoughts or disappointments.

A light story

This is the kind of drama suitable for early teens. The story is just so simple, kind of annoyingly stupid at times. Oh! and a lot of slow motion scenes that's just unnecessary long. The acting is okay overall, but some character i feel, are just not well written. Especially for the bunny Wu character, that's just annoying overly reckless and spoiled. I don't know if that character is intentionally written that way or just not well executed in the drama? The special effects are not good, but still acceptable.

throw your common sense as far as possible

first episode okay, just a bunch of entitled spoiled brats at school doing what they do. then it's started going downhill pretty fast. Being a Science Fiction doesn't necessarily mean you can throw every common sense and basic logic down the drain. SF can be good and have a bit of basic common sense. And it's so funny that main characters can always escape deathly situation so easily, it's a joke. If you enjoy bloody scene and willing to throw your basic common sense, I think it's still watchable. If not, then don't waste your time. It's a very badly written SF.

What a waste

The story should be interesting, it's new and different. But sadly, after watching 19 episodes, trying really hard to like it, I'm just not impressed. I'm going to drop this one. To me, the story is sometimes a bit confusing, timeline is kind of a mess? And the acting, o my... the acting is just not convincing. I can't feel the chemistry between the main leads. Don't understand how suddenly the ML fall for the FL, there's just no story building to that. Some of the supporting role's acting is so over the top ?

Too many unnecessary scene

I would have given it a higher rating if they cut out all the "romance" scene altogether. It's just too much and so unnecessary. They just had to, don't they?! What a waste of screentime. Man and Woman can work together without romance, you know l, why can't writers get that!! Instead of putting those unconvincing romance, they should've focused more on the angst and internal conflicts of the characters. It's also lacking on the action scenes, it's very slow paced. Too many prolonged dialogue and blank stare. Also, I can't stand the FL, she's too stubborn and not too bright, not very convincing as a 'famous todugun". The synopsis must be wrong LOL

good start, bad writing

The first 4 episodes is quite interesting, mysteries, action, drama. But it started to go downhill pretty fast. The writer is the one to blame. Characters were written inconsistent and shallow. Reporter /best friend of 13 years, take on an unknown tip and jump straight on a witch hunt without doing any due diligence. Not once ask, what is FL motive, what purpose, who benefits for the murder? If I were to get some unknown tip of my BFF doing shady things, I would have a hard time to belive it. How can a reporter not have such basic analytical thinking? and FL supposed to be so in love with her husband, can just flip off the love button and be so calculating cold, without any internal conflict is beyond me. K-drama quality in recent years is declining and the script/writer is always the culprit. So sad for all the talented actors.

Not impressive

Some clips of this drama pops up in my feed, and I thought, wow.. it looked interesting and funny. Tried to finished it was a struggle. Turned out the funny part was only in those clips, the rest was just full of boring old cliche plot. Main characters were just unlikeable. FL is a 27 yo woman, have worked for years as a reporter, but all her actions was like a clueless-helpless little girl. Most of the problem she faced were caused by her own stupidity and passiveness. Many of her problem can be resolved, better yet non existent, if she chooses to act as an independent and responsible adult, as she should be. SFL was a very toxic, acting as eternal victim, using ML & SML as she pleases, and all of the characters around her just willingly treat her like this fragile white porcelain. And another thing i've had enough of, k-drama favorite cameo, the white truck of doom... why? please be more creative writer-nim

Not what I expected (in a good way)

I've never read the original novel, so I thought it's going to be a romance drama between FL & ML with some palace politics here and there. I never imagine that in the 27 episodes, is more about family conflict, FL-ML close interaction (romance) is almost non existent LOL. But what surprised me more, is how much I enjoy this drama. I like how the story focused on the development of the FL and her interaction with her family, the mother-daughter conflict, surprisingly, quite realistic. I love all the elders character, the senior actors are all very good, especially the grandmother, LOL, the grandmother is really something, so funny. I like how the FL slowly learn about relationships and grow to be more mature. Nothing is rushed, just the right pace. The director really make good story flow. Can't wait for the second part of the series.

confused writer

Such a confusing story. I don't know what story the writer want to tell. Instead of focusing on developing the main storyline, the writer chose to throw so many unnecessary filler side story randomly. I wish they'd focused more on the interaction between the mainleads, what a waste of such a good chemistry. What disappointed me the most was episode 28. Suddenly almost 2 years just went by. What happened to the Hua, Mu, Meng, Wu, Zhong Family? The plot was going nowhere. Instead of continuing the plotline, the writer/director chose to throw in so many new characters in the last episodes? What's the purpose? It really felt like cash grabbing/hype seeking on the cameo's name, I mean : Peng Xiao Ran, Sun Yi, Zhang Tian Ai, Yang Xu Wen, all come out just for a few seconds of scene that had nothing to do with the previous plot. I'm sorry episode 28 just dragged the whole drama down for me.

One of the best drama

Surprisingly very well made good quality drama. A short drama that far exceed many so called S+ drama in recent years. A very rare drama that correctly portray how a strong woman should be, as a very composed, smart, brave and calm without loosing her feminine traits and gentleness. (can't stand those dramaa where the woman is stupidly stubborn and domineering). I'm not familiar with the actress, but her performance blew me away, she's able to convincingly portray a character from her bubbly youth, and her development through the years until her late years as a mature seasoned lady.

Can't wait for Season 2

Praise for SHK's acting. She's done an amazing job. I finished the whole drama just because of her acting. There're not much that I can say story wise, I feel it's a bit too slow maybe, the story was just ordinary. The actors made it special, their acting give depths to the story. All of them were amazing, main role support role, all. Even the young actors were good, especially the girl acting as the young main female antagonist, I think her acting was even better than the adult version. I'm looking forward for 2nd season.

Enjoyable and Refreshing

After bombarded by so many crappy C-Drama, this one was like a breath of fresh air. I'm being dramatic, I know. But it was really nice to finally have a drama that focused more on telling a good story. Most drama produced these days were just so poorly made. For a low budget project, this was very well made. Everything penny invested in the right place. The plotline was good, even though the cases were quite simple, it's entertaining and the story building up to the last episode was not rushed and flowed quite nicely.
