Both of these Japanese BL dramas center around the sweet and innocent budding romance between two guys who start off as strangers to each other. But they bond over food and the realization that the other's presence inspires them and makes them lose their longstanding sense of lonelieness.

Both of these Japanese LGBTQ+ dramas center around an office worker lead who likes to cook, but feels a notable emptiness in life that starts to be filled when they find someone to eat with them. It also features a lead with an insecurity about their eating habits.

Both are JP products, and they have similarities in the balance of the two main leads, both are recorded in the local area too.

The story follows the growth of Yamazaki Otome, a young girl lacking experience in love, who utilizes her hobby of making sweets to work at Patisserie MON, a French pastry shop.

They all have Iijima Hiroki as one of the main leads. While Bokushoku gives a warmed-like atmosphere, this one is focus more on the problems of LGBT+ marriage, and little bit comedic, I guess?

There's quite a bit of similarities (character wise). Reserved salary man meats a more outgoing male leads and becomes more open. Lots of food themes and heartwarming

Koiwa Mimiko manages a small bakery that has been in her family for generations, but struggles doing it all on her own. Kita Kaoru, who is 6 years younger than Mimiko, begins working at the bakery part time. He used to be a chef at a Michelin star restaurant, but doesn't speak about his past. Despite his secrets, Kaoru becomes an indispensable presence in Minako's bakery and life.

In both BL dramas, the main characters initially bond through food and romance slowly develops between them. Both series are cute and heart-warming.
