Both shows are about a therapist and their patient finding each other and healing each others scars. In Mental Coach Jegal the stories main fl is a short skater and in Soul Mechanic the main fl is an actor. They both also have an age gap involves too. It isn't the. focal point in Soul Mechanic, but he. is older than her by some years. I think that both shows have a similar vibe so If you liked one you'll differently like the other.
If you liked the power abuse drama within the sports field (which, let's be honest, is the actual focus of both shows, NOT the actual sports play), then you will like both shows :). But to be honest, Mental Coach Jegal have a less satisfying resolution due to the 0 positive friendship and comradery (there was one introduced at the beginning, but they ended up being sidelined and useless at the end in favor of Jaegal and fl's romance).
Both dramas are sports/medical dramas in some sense, and tell the story of the ML and FL together in getting closer to their goals.
Both dramas are about athletes who join the national team. They are set in the national athletes' village.
Mental Coach Jegal deals with mental health and the ML is a mental coach who become close to the skater FL.
Dr. Champ deals with medicine where the FL is a surgeon who gets close to the athlete ML.
Jegal Gil can be compared to the 2ML in Dr. Champ, Lee Do Wook with his witty personality.
The second leads and other characters have interesting stories that were worth it as well.
In my opinion, Dr. Champ wins when it comes to the whole development of the story.
