Light hearted fun
personally Joong kinda reminds me of Archie in Riverdale so my expectations where not that high , but I was pleasantly surprised. I really like drama so honestly I found the conflicts really fun. I also really liked Joongs character. The most annoying thing about this is the fact that they always get called in the middle of the most important conversations and they always pick up the phone
The production is really good I love how Gmmtvs shows alwus feels like the color the title graphic is in and the repetitive use of the Sunflower is really cute
I would say if you don't mind a bit of stupid conflict definitely give it a watch.

Surprising
Very rarely I get to change my mind: when a drama is on my dropped list, it stays there and I usually do not give it a second chance. I was challenged into watching this so I gave it a go. And frankly, it was not as bad as I thought it would be.Star In My Mind is a drama about Dao and Kleun and their imagined unrequited love for each other. When Dao confesses before leaving for a trip, Kleun is flabbergasted and just utters a banality. They meet again a few years later at the University where they share a dorm. After a few wrong moves, they eventually find common ground and love.
I had dropped this after the first episode, the cringe factor (the confession) was just too much for me to bear. But surprisingly, that cringiness disappears and we get a straight forward rom com together with all the usual tropes, misunderstandings, another love interest, helpful friends. Another surprising absence is the adults (parents, teachers etc.) since none of the characters work, they must be financed somehow in order to study. But we do not know really how (most of them apparently come from well off families!).
As somebody pointed out already, there are no side couples in this drama: there are friends in their group flirting but nothing is mentioned let alone fleshed out. This drama is only about Kleun and Dao. I found this a refreshing change from the usual thai bl formula where there are usually two more couples adding nothing to the plot but wasting time.
The actors had a surprisingly good chemistry probably because the characters they played were the complete opposites: Kleun a taciturn popular guy and Dao an expressive artist. Joong is an awful actor: he has a single facial expression: brooding. He might be handsome but he is like a doll. Dunk was surprisingly good. He has an interesting voice and managed to be slightly better than Joong. They appeared to be at ease with each other and did not shy from contact.
The rest of the cast were just there not to have the stage empty. They were there as support for the main leads and we never did get to know them. Which is ok since it made the series shorter and more compact and therefore easier to watch. The only character that gets a bit more time is Fah, Dao's older brother who is the star of the second series. 😀😀
This series was a surprisingly decent watch and I ended up liking it more than the second part Sky In Your Heart. To be watched while doing something else....

Cute but that's all there is
The key to watching this drama is to not have an expectation. This is a cute (seemingly) one sided love of college students and everytime they do something stupid, I think of myself at 18 which makes it tolerable really. Most people have issues with Kluen (Joong) being the literal worse at communication but honestly I have found so many men older than him who's the same or even worse. Like his case is way more tolerable because he's inexperienced really, and this is his first time experiencing romantic love.
I also found Dao extremely endearing - he's still in his people pleaser era and is still learning how to be kind and not just "nice", which he admitted! Gotta appreciate him for self reflecting.
So I like this drama better than some of the MDL reviews here, but I just don't think the storyline is memorable in any way at all. Like the whole plot is just about a long winded high schooler/college love story which I have experienced firsthand within my friend group previously which is a bad indication cause I'm a wholly boring person.
Anyways it's still worth a watch if you don't have anything else to do. Not for the plot but more for the cast.

If only they talked to each other
Ok is the series cute sure... is it also incredibly annoying and hits all the cliches and OML just talk already? Also yes. It's one of those BLs that the actor's chemistry couldn't save, Joong and Dunk have amazing chemistry and I like watching them act together but even that couldn't save this.
The script is another one without a lot of substance, two guys fall in love and proceed to ignore any type of proper communication and make us suffer through too many misunderstandings. Also, the character Typhoon is incredibly annoying and I couldn't stand him the entire show.
And the end scene with Daonuea brother came out of the left field I guess they just wanted a reason for a sequel but damn was it really necessary?

A little, just a little, boring (In a cute way, but still, boring).
Hmm I have mixed feelings for this series. At the same time that was cute, it was boring. The storyline it's just... annoying? It's another lazy script from GMM, nothing surprising. But I really like Joong (Kluen) and Dao (Dunk) bcs of their chemistry. At the end of the day, I'm being way too easy on this review bcs I'm biased.
Their acting is ok, they have good chemistry and it's okay, nothing special tho. Since I have already watched them in another series and it was their first job together, it's great to see that they improved since Star In My Mind.
In resume, it's cute, but still way too boring and I watched in 2x just to say that I watched bcs I like the pairing. Going to watch the second part (Sky In Your Heart) now!

One step forward, two steps back, same old cliché story with unnecessary conflicts
Story: The typical, over-used plot, where the main characters are in love with each other, yet because of the miscommunication they are not aware of the other's feelings so they will suffer in silence until a miracle happens, in our case the miracle was the third wheel who triggered jealousy, so the bear finally came out of the cave.It was a bad attempt to show emotional world pain in a university setting with almost zero plot.
Also, what was this ”go away, but don't leave me” thing? They had to ”suffer” that much just to get together in 5 minutes.
Even though Daonuea was longing for years after Khabkluen's love, he didn't seem to be that happy and excited after they got together, in fact, he seemed low-key irritated when Khabkluen was trying to approach him.
Acting: The acting was pretty okay, with a decent amount of chemistry between the main couple. But I think that Joong wasn't professionally ready to be able to play someone who hides his love well.
They had their cute moments being together, but I got tired of it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t bring myself to like the main couple, nor the side characters.
Music: it wasn't really rememberable.
Overall: Nothing that really stands out about this series, nothing new and it could have had fewer episodes because what should have been an easygoing love story is strangely exhausting to watch.
But it's not that bad, I've seen worse, so watching this series is not a total waste of time, especially if you don't have that much expectations :)

kinda like the go to basic meal when you don't feel like putting a lot of effort for dinner
the funny thing about this series that I pretty much agree with a lot of the crit people have about it., because frankly, it's true.the story is thin and built on the most contrived, single brick of "JUST SAY IT"/"why can't you guys just talk???" but somehow....i liked it anyway? Maybe I shouldn't have, but I enjoyed myself a surprising amount while watching this.
Dao is a lowkey harem protag with a thin personality where you're not entirely sure why he has like 4 different people vying for his attention except that he's cute and nice, and Kluen is a man of few words who prefers actions over words. The whole series is literally just everyone trying to get Kluen to finally spit it out as he keeps unintentionally giving Dao mixed signals and confusing the heck out of him.
ngl it got a little infuriating to watch by the end, and I think the whole thing with Gia at the last minute was absolutely /Ridiculous/ on a lot of levels, (domestic abuse? really? if the show could barely linger on it for like the minute they needed to for the plot, couldn't they have chosen another emergency to excuse Kluen to running over like her house is on fire...), and i dislike how Dao suddenly seemed so touch shy when they finally got together when it doesn't? seem that's how he was from how we previously saw him but otherwise i found this cute. a little annoying and dragged out at times, but cute.
I think I probably liked this better than most because, even though the plot is built off the most ridiculous miscommunication excuse, (and who the heck even likes miscommunication plots?), but it still made sense with these characters. Dao seems like the type to confess first and in fact, he even did! But Kluen gave him a non-answer that would obviously get taken as a rejection. Obviously this would mean that it's up to Kluen to resolve/end the mutual pining between both of them, even though it seems like trying to get him to be direct and straightforward about his feelings is like pulling teeth. It's honestly stupid but...understandable. Some things are just way easier said than done.
Another thing is that I did like how the show even points out Kluen is being stupid, multiple times. Several side characters call him out about it, and Dao gets understandably mad/frustrated from his end, although I will admit that I think that was a great kiss lol. Prob the best kiss in the show ngl
I've seen a few people say that they probably should've just combined the sky and star series into one series and flip back and forth between the couples and....I agree. I minded the miscommunication/misunderstanding plot less than most people, but even I was starting to get really annoyed by the end. Maybe they should've combined both series to help cover up the thin story in both shows and make the frustration of having to watch Kluen slowly work through his emotional constipation more bearable by having another plotline.
tl;dr it's not awful. if you want a chill university setting story with no serious drama and low expectations, go ahead

i just loved this. a lot. a lot.
idk why the reviews are so on the fence about it--it's a sweet story with good actingit's on the simpler side but i liked that, i think a lot of thai bl's have a plot that's all over the place but this one actually makes sense
also no cringe ad-type-scenes like in other bl ((guess they had enough budget to stick to more subtle product placement) and i already said it but the acting is good imo
ofc it has some unnecessary drama but not to the point it gets super frustrating, it's a lot less than other thai BLs i've seen and well, this IS a drama so it's part of the genre
also i really loved the friend group and other side characters, they had distinct personalities and felt rounded
i lowkey highkey want a drama abt Maithee, i think he is v fun and a sweet friend but also feels like the kinda character who's always joking around and bc he's scared of getting hurt/opening up and i'd love if that was explored in his own story--maybe with sean or phoon or someone else entirely ((ngl kinda shipped him with prince but that can't happen for obvious reasons))
anyway i highly recommend this drama

Though predictable, this is one of the better BLs
Maybe I'm a sucker for a predictable, cute story line, but I was just grateful this actually had a reasonable plot and didn't involve dysfunctional relationships. The actors did very well. The story was cute and believable. The relationships felt realistic and I genuinely wanted the characters to be happy. Yes, there was the misunderstanding each other trope and it did go a bit far, but compared to some recent BLs I have been watching, I found this incredibly refreshing and heartwarming. I am already invested in the spin off "Sky In Your Heart," sight unseen. The OST was good, though nothing outstanding, it hit all the right notes. It's a love story, start to finish, so their isn't much for a deeper plot, but it's cute and fluffy.Bottom line: If you're in the mood for a cute love story with some heartfelt moments that will make you cry (or smile dreamily), this is the story you are looking for. As a side note, this show doesn't veer off into porn territory, so it's appropriate for a younger audience, which will be a plus for some BL fans.

A Romantic Story with Couple Goals!!
If you're looking for a series that has lots of romance with less dramatic moments, this is the series for you. It's really a feel good drama that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside after finishing the series.
I think we all need a lover like Khabkluen or Daonuea after watching this series.
•❅✧❅✦ Story •❅✧❅✦
Daonuea has been crushing on Khabkluen since freshman year in highschool. However, it's a one-sided love on his end as Khabkluen has a girlfriend he is very committed to. After leaving to study abroad for his senior year of highscool, he returns to Thailand to start college. On the first day of the Star and Moon Competition Practice, Doanuea is reunited with Khabkluen. Daonuea hasn't really gotten over his crush, but has to room with Khabkluen during the duration of the competition. As they room together, Daonuea and Khabkluen start to getting closer together. Khabkluen is and has always been the epitome of kindness, that Daonuea can't stop his feelings even though he knows Khabkluen has a girlfriend... Or does he?
One of the best things about this series is the "Will they? Won't they?" tug of war that Daonuea and Khabkluen have throughout the series. It's not so dramatic and unrealistic that sometimes you end up shouting "Just kiss already!" at the screen. It's a light-hearted and romantic series, so there isn't any frustration while watching. Just pure romance.

Daonuea x Khabkluen
Daonuea is you typical normal guy. He's adorable and funny. There isn't anything really special about him aside from his undying loyalty to Khabkluen, so there isn't much to comment on him aside from gushing over his cuteness.
However, Khabkluen, on the otherhand, is a little more stereotypical with the hot and kind popular kid troupe going for him. He also falls into the anti-social, can't really saying my feelings well, troupe that the male leads tend to have. However, something that makes Khabkluen different from the others is his his undying loyalty to Daonuea before and after their love confession. Also, his personality isn't as masculine as you would expect those types of leads to be. You can really see Khabkluen's real self after he starts dating Daonuea and I love the 180 shift in how he acts around Daonuea and other people.
On a side note, the actors who protray Daonuea and Khabkluen have so much chemistry. If someone told me they were a real couple, I wouldn't be surprised. Nothing looked fake or awkward. These two need to have more acting work, be it together or separate, because they are really great actors. I honestly would like to see them do something more dramatic just because I really think they are amazing and really need the opportunity to prove themselves as great actors.
•❅✧❅✦ Overall •❅✧❅✦
The series was amazing. I feel in love with Daonuea and Khabkluen from episode one and I never got bored as the series progressed. If you are looking for a drama-filled series, this probably isn't for you. But if you are looking for a feel-good romantic series then this is a must watch!

Crazy little thing called love but gay
If you remember the famous Mario Maurer movie crazy little thing called love, then you have got the storyline. It's pretty much the same except no one is "ugly" and has a glow up. There's nothing much to say about the storyline. It's pretty much bland. But there are very much good things about the series. Firstly Chen. Wow. 2moons never did justice to his skills and acting. His golden skin was shining. He played the character of a socially awkward, introverted guy reallllyyy well. The guy who played Daoneua is also a good actor. But as usual their kisses were awkward. Mainly Daoneua was awkward. Except that their very few interaction in the whole series was pretty cute and sweet.
The guy who played Maitee. I watched one of his series where he was a serious studious guy. But this character suits him more. I hope I'd get to see him in this kind of free fun guy more. Overall it was good. The ratings are fair. There were so many familiar faces as well. Good for one time binge watch. Also, you can skip some scenes and still will understand everything.

The series isn't perfect, but more than enough to satisfy my liking
I've read lots of reviews saying how this series is the "typical Thai BL" and yes it is.However, that doesn't automatically mean it's bad.
Lately, I've been watching some heavy on heart and filled with drama kind of shows, so because of that, it was really refreshing for me personally to come across this light-hearted and sweet mini series, taking me back to the times, bringing me back the feeling I got when I first started watching romance dramas. The chemistry between the main leads isn't something to joke about and believe it or not it made me giggle like an absolute shameless idiot, but I don't regret that cus it was worth all that.
On the other hand, I do understand why some people might not think the same as me; as there were some scenes that could've definitely been improved and have been executed in a better manner. As for the plot it really was just a simple one, which didn't seem to be many peoples cup of tea. And neither was it mine, but I thought maybe I should give the series a go; making that the best decision I have done in a while.
