you'll absolutely love this series! it's short but contains SO MUCH content in about MINUTESi love their chemistry, these actresses can always make a "simple" storyline into something so unique, funny and loveable all at the same time hahahaha I just love it so much and I'll probably gonna rewatch it 10x because I'm gonna miss them very much buhoooooo wish we could have a 5 seasons long x 45 min per episode lol :')

Cliche but acceptable
After watching the first two seasons, I watched this special series. If you don't watch the first two seasons, some of the scenes may not make as much sense or make as much of an emotional impact on the viewer. It's short and sweet and full of cliches, but because it was so short, the cliches were not too unbearable I suppose. There were some extraneous characters like the rich boy, which I don't understand the purpose of his character. A lot of the story seems too convenient, falling there at that exact moment so the heroine can come in and save the day. If you like the FLs and just want to see more of their interactions, this is a cute drama to watch. However don't expect much interesting storyline.

reincarnation
tw: major character death, bad family dynamicsI accidentally started watching this first in the Legend of Yunze series before realizing this was clearly a follow-up special. It's really interesting seeing a reincarnation/I'll always be waiting for you kind of story with these characters.
It was a little confused on the tropes - it kind of felt like a grab bag and in certain cases felt really rushed. Like ok now it's a coffee shop AU, but it's also a roommates AU, and it's also a long-lost love situation. It was a bit much for 11 episodes. While I felt like the first series handled the short format a bit better in what they tried to cram in, this special seemed a bit more intent on trying to get everything in and I'm not sure that was the right decision for this story overall. There were more moments to get excited for in this series than the prior, but I would still rate it a bit lower.
re: bad family dynamics - I don't always tag those, but A-Ze has a really verbally abusive foster mother who is clearly using her for her money, and while it is something that is dealt with in the text of the drama, it still feels like something that could be triggering.

I LOVED THIS SPECIAL!!
I really, really loved this drama. The whole plot and storyline are so interesting you can't help but binge it. The comedic timing is great; it made me laugh a lot.Should I mention how cute they are when together?? Their chemistry is amazing and my favorite part of the show.
What also made me enjoy this was that it wasn't historical but set in modern times; it had a fun twist.
Dare I say this is my favorite of the 'Legend of Yunze' projects! I highly recommend watching this!

Legend of Yunze, the Official Fanfic
Aw hell, this was just so much fun.It did feel like I was reading an at times somewhat poorly plotted AU, but these characters just have so much charm and the actors have such great on-screen chemistry that I couldn't find it in me to care.
This special is quite light-hearted and fluffy compared to seasons one and two (which, let's be honest, were already quite sweet to begin with), but what it lacks in dark mysteries and epic sword fights, it makes up for with romance.
Watching this felt like someone had grabbed the romance dial on the switchboard and cranked it up to 11 and I do mean that in the best way possible. The show is full of classic romance tropes and even invents a few new ones (dramatically pretending to be injured to scare off your girlfriend's evil adoptive mum, anyone?).
It's cheesy, it's ridiculous, and yet it's somehow genuinely touching and romantic. I even found myself tearing up at one point.
So if you're a fan of the main show you'll very likely enjoy this as well. If you've never seen Legend of Yunze before you might still like this, but be aware that quite a lot of plot points won't make very much sense without the relevant background info.
