Short and sweet

This is a surprising little gem! Short, sweet and doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. I disagree with others that say this should be longer, for this particular plot this was the perfect length. There wasn’t anything else that needed to be said, so no need to drag it out.
That being said, I would absolutely love to see the leads in this star in something else together, they had good chemistry and played off of each other well.

Honestly, a lot of things about this was surprising. It’s well-paced, the writing is pretty solid, and the acting is good.

Plot was totally predictable, but I don’t think they thought they were surprising anyone when X’s long-time crush was revealed. Admittedly, it might have been nice to see some background to X’s crush, as well as some good, old-fashioned pining.

I really liked the friend group in this. We always stan well-meaning himbo besties. Q’s coming out scene with his friends was actually quite lovely.

Overall, it’s a recommend from me.

LIGHT COMING OUT LOVE STORY

So far this is the lighest coming out story I have seen this year, I started watching this one before but due to my moods I have not finished it then and so thankfully I am able to finally finish this one this year 2024 ??
Okay this mini series is quite good and light and a good balancer also, there was no stressing thing in this drama, everything was simple and easy to understand, this drama is easy to love, for a 4 episodes, the story was and good and went well, they did not made this one stressful because on the part where Q got jealous about X and Q's uncle, it was quiet offending if I were X l, specially what Q have said ?? Like damn , X was a green flag here and Q was a spoiled easy to get annoyed kid , but since maybe the director wanted it to be light, they just turned it that X has understood Q and just thought maybe he was just jealous, something like that.
And let me just say that the only thing I did not like was the ending , like it was too short and like , that's it?? And no kiss here, but it's fine, the characters on the story was just maybe a junior High school or something so a kiss on the cheeks is just appropriate for them and just enough for us to flutter our hearts watching it.
All in all, it was convincing, light and the actors are what made me draw here so far also ..highly recommended for the watchers who has no high standards and a balancer also .

Character Develolment

I really liked this series. I wish it was longer. The 2 male leads worked well together. i liked how the relationship between X and Q developed. Maybe because the series was only 4 episodes long, they avoided most of the usual tropes you find in BL series and the few they didn't avoid were very short lived. You can see and feel their relationship grow. It may have helped Q accept that he liked Boys because his Uncle Man is gay and he lived with Q and his Mom. I am just curious as to why Q's Mother was afraid or even thought Q might be Gay. Until he met X he did not seem to give any hint that he liked boys. He liked Toy and Frank, but only as friends, they hada normal friendship. I hope they make a Season 2.

It all becomes clear in the end

This series is a great example that a good script does not need 10+ episodes. Yes, It’s another BL series involving high school students but it has a fresh outlook somehow. There are some story elements introduced in the first episode that may scare people off, but these elements make sense once you see episode four (don’t worry no spoilers). The cast was great and did a wonderful job with their characters. I like how the series acknowledges the fears of how gay men will be accepted by family, friends, and society. I also like the more positive aspect it used with these fears.

Random Note: Q’s house was also used in the Mama Gogo Series as Annie’s house. I always get a kick when I see a familiar location used in different series.

Love Love Love

Overall, I loved this BL series. The only problem it was too short. I hope there is going to be a 2nd part. I would like to see more of X and Q’s love relationship. I feel that the story line of the 2 main characters needed to be more elaborated instead of it being so short. It needed something else. I have seen other BL short series that I could understand the plot and story line but on this one something was truly missing . That’s why I gave the story a low rating and the rest a higher rating. I loved the cast, the music and overall great production. I wouldn’t mind seeing it more then 3 times. But, I hope the production can make a part 2 of their love relationship in the future.

Lovely Short Series

This short series had likable characters, great acting, and a good cast. The main weakness of this series was the final episode. I loved this series, but wish they added one more episode, or spent less expository time in episode 4, so that X and Q could have had a proper talk and reunion at the end of episode 4. The spend way more time on the Frank and Mild, and Toy and Mook resolving their subplots (I enjoyed Frank's surprise by the way), than on Q and X working out their misunderstanding. Hopefully we will see Bever and Tee as a couple in another series.

Better than expected

There are so many things that can go wrong with this series, but thankfully it ends up being quite nicely put together despite having some flaws.

The first time the protagonist, Q, meets X (in a toilet), it's obvious that X has a crush on him. But the flaws with the series also start here. Given that X is quite obviously interested in Q, why does he purposely do things to antagonize Q (including making fun of his penis size)? And then Q's behavior is also potentially toxic: because X challenges him to try to get Mook, a female schoolmate, to invite him (Q) to an event, Q has to pretend to be a fan of Mook's and feign interest in her online. He even delegates this pretense of interest to his friends since no one can tell that someone is posting stuff on his behalf. In a way, Q and his friends are lying to Mook and trying to manipulate her feelings. (It is thus rather ironic that later, in a misunderstanding, Q thinks that X and Mook are in cahoots to lie to him/toy with his feelings.)

Yet, X and Q manage to be fairly likable. Q doesn't really mean any harm, and he also doesn't really care that much about winning the bet with X. I like how the X and Q romance doesn't follow an enemies-to-lovers plot. Q just naturally falls in love as he spends more time with X.

Oddly enough, Q's mother and uncle (who are side characters) are the ones who are portrayed with some level of complexity. Q's mother, who gives the impression of being fine with gay people since she has no issues with her gay brother, turns out to have concerns that her son is gay. Yet, she isn't entirely homophobic either, and her brother is able to persuade her to be more accepting. Q's uncle, who initially seems to be a bad joke (he's "Uncle Man" but he isn't exactly manly, haha), doesn't end up being a flat character created simply for the sake of humor. He can be serious too, and in many ways, he's the most sensible person in the whole series, giving sound advice to others despite his personal problems (like his father's inability to accept him for being gay).

The interactions between X and Q are cute and sweet without being cloying. Although the misunderstanding in the final episode seems a little forced (like the predictable break-up scene that happens in the penultimate episodes of many series), the way the misunderstanding is cleared up is quite nicely done. In the end, we can forgive a lot of flaws because X and Q are characters who are easy to like, and the two actors look good together.

A sweet fluffy short bl drama

This was such an easy and light watch! I had this show on my watchlist for a while without even knowing what it was about and yesterday I decided to go and binge-watch it. It was so good I stayed up until almost 3 am to finish it.

21 Days Theory is a cute fluffy bl with an innocent love story between two highschoolers with the ocasional contribute of their friends and Q's mother and uncle. It's sweet, short and there's nothing particularly groundbreaking about it - but there's also nothing particularly faulty about it which makes for a wonderful easy watch.

The characters are all super lovable. Q is a dorky guy who keeps losing but his will to actually win isn't very strong either - he goes into auditions and competitions already expecting to lose. The reason he has the will to take X up on his challenge is more due to the other's teasing rather than his own will to win. He's also a sweet guy who cares about others, even if he doesn't always show it. X is a rather interesting character, he's super soft and caring on the inside but manages to have this playful and teasing outside that just gets into Q's nerves. Their dynamic is funny and cute, the way they grow closer is also sweet. X is also somewhat cunning, his plan was elaborated and not something anyone would've come up with - tho his plan didn't make much sense (poor guy akdaka), it did work to a certain extent. Q's friends, Toy and Frank are some of the best friends he could have, they're always ready to help him out and are super understanding - there's one specific line in the 3rd episode that made me even fonder of them. X's friend, Mook, the net idol, is also a good friend and she's also a likeable character; she's not full of herself or has an attitude - she's friendly and positive. Mind is also a nice character. The best side character tho, are Q's mother and uncle. Q's uncle is queer and he serves as a support to Q, even if the latter doesn't immediately see him as so admdkaka. Q's mother although hesitant at first is also ready to wholeheartedly support her son. She's also really nice and affectionate with the way she embraces X as well.

The acting was great, especially from the actor who plays X, Bever - he has a great flow to his movements and speech, acting seems natural to him and he definitely stands out. The other actors weren't bad either, Q's actor, Tee, is a cutie.

Production-wise this was way better than I thought it'd be for a low-budget production, the editing is very clean and it's well directed, better than many big budget shows.

Overall, this short series is definitely a gem in the huge repertoire of bls we get nowadays, its fluffy and sweet atmosphere combined with how easy it is to watch will have me coming back to it often in the future. Hoping for more bls like this ><

Thank you for reading and hope you give it a chance!

A hidden gem

This is soo cute and these boys can act Better than the popular boys. This show has better story, better direction and acting than some of these mainstream bls. The chemistry between the actors is on fire. Somebody give the two boys a full length bl. Even the plot is better compare to the mediocre bl we are getting now. The only problem is is way to short but they are able to tell the story well. I will definitely be rewatching this a lot. Adding it to my one of my favourite show

The Definition of a Gem in a Small Package

I have decided to watch the series as a pastime this weekend and it surprised me to a whole new level of entertainment. For a short 4 episodic miniseries, I didnt expect it to tackle a lot of issues, define them, deal with it in a very straight forward manner, and surprisingly.. it does work! I must say this series deserves more love & attention than most of any regular full series out there.

I knew a few of the actors sharing their craftmanship on this hidden masterpiece and they all shine on their own ways. Q and X is a lovable realistic couple and the actors portrayed the role as convincing as it can be. I love them! Hope to see them team up again in another project as a couple. As for the supporting characters, what an ensemble they have! Frank and Toy stands out for having the perfect embodiment of their names and I like both for being honest, goofy (in a good way) and supportive characters. Q's mom & uncle are great adults, I envy Q for having both of them on his side. Mind and Mook is the wisest addition to the cast that gives just enough flavor to the already enticing cast and story.

I couldnt asked for more of this series, the story is short but rich, the lines are simple but convincing, the characters are few but well performed and then they did more. Thank goodness I found this hovering my timelines, and definitely saves my day binge watching it into a more delightful weekend. One of the best series ever made this 2022!

A Great Series with an Unnecessary Scene

Overall, this is an astonishingly well-acted series with a strong ensemble cast and perfect rhythm and timing that makes the dialogue feel natural and original. I know perhaps this is my pet-peeve and I also know that the characters are young and lack boundaries but I simply cannot take physicality as a way to solve your frustrations, jealousies, or anger towards another. .Especially in BL series that are supposed to be enhancing and trying to gain acceptance, tolerance, and understanding from people who do not embrace and 'see' us. Production companies need to be more cognizant of the message they are sending out there. We have to be different and we have to lead.
Honestly, this really is one of the better BLs for the year 2022 but fell in stature from just that one scene. So unfortunate.
