School setting relatively short BLs with very likeable characters and a similar vibe. The students eventually form into two couples, one M/M, the other F/M.

- A Japanese BL
- Both are adapted from manga
- Takes place in a school setting
- Both are the type of show that makes you feel warm (wholesome gay romance)
- Both are generally short length series though I Only Want To See You is a mere 4 episodes long

Similar story and light tone: one confesses and the other is trying to figure out their feelings for the other. Also, set in school.

Although the setting, circumstances and the age of the characters are very different, I still found them similar because both have a really calm and peaceful vibe, and both are BLs as well. Both the drama and the movie are really beautiful and I would recommend both of them to any JBL fans.

A change in the stakeout team throws Onoe, reporter for a weekly magazine, together with his contemporary, Kaburagi, a photographer. Onoe secretly considers Kaburagi his rival, and Kaburagi's haphazard way of doing things goes against Onoe's strong sense of ethics. There's nothing but conflict between them. But, in joint pursuit of a scandal, the two of them begin to care about each other...? ~~ Adapted from the manga "Ameiro Paradox" by Natsume Isaku

Both are sweet, slice-of-life BLs with:
- Consensual, healthy gay relationships in which the characters are learning to be communicative boyfriends
- Beautiful cinematography
- No homophobia (although both couples remain closeted) and no fetishization of gayness by other characters
- Some serious subject matter while still remaining fluffy and having some comedy

Blueming is set in college and has a bit of a higher heat level, while Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai is set in high school and has a minimal heat level.

When Kosuke was 14 years old, his mother died. As a young gay person, he spent his adolescence in a rural village and suppressed his feelings. Now, Kosuke is all grown up and he works as a fashion magazine editor in Tokyo. He meets Ryuta, who works as a personal trainer. Ryuta's mother raised him alone and he is close to his mother. Kosuke and Ryuta become attracted to each other and they sometimes spend time with Ryuta's mother. Kosuke is happy to share time with Ryuta and his mother, which makes him remember his late mother. Kosuke and Ryuta make an appointment to go for a drive together, but, on that day, Ryuta does not show up.
