Frustrating! Wasted potential

First of all, I have read the manhwa before and I was kinda hoping that this series would be better. I didn't really remember, why I didn't like it, but this show reminded me why. I'm going to be really critical about this because oh boi, I just used my whole energry to watch it and I'm highly disappointed.

Let me tell you at the beginning, it's not the directors or production fault, because this plot is just bad in general... But it doesn't change the fact that they choose to produce something so unlikeble. You can see, that besides the show having extremely frustrating plot, they had too little time, which made everything only worse and worse. Important moments were treated like they were just normal situations and it felt hella weird to see that. I don't know if it's the actors fault, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that everything was just sped up. Like they rushed things too much. It felt more like I was watching a very long trailer to a bigger series. It's good in the beggining but later on it kinda felt like going in circles and the plot and all enthusiasm just went somewhere else.

As I said the acting was just fine. Nothing very special or outstanding. You can feel a little commitment but it's still not enough to make a remarkable series. Seon Ho definitely reminded me of the character in the manhwa, but as for Mu Yeong it kinda didn't click for me. I know that it suposed to be like that, but since it's a live-action and not 2D, outside apparence is a little bit more important and let me tell you, the characters had absoultely no chemistry and they didn't fit together. I don't know if it's the actors having a bad relationship, or they were told to act this way, but it just came out very bad. Separately as the characters they were fine, but since this is a BL and the chemistry is basically the most important thing I must say they messed it up. And the kisses were so awkward! Like, I know that maybe BL is not such a popular genre in Korea like in Thailand and it's not a typical thing to actors, but unfortunately I can't defend them this time. They used a camera angle a few times, so it means that they didn't really wanted to kiss for real and you know... sometimes it only makes it worse for already bad plot. LIKE BRUH ... I WAS FEELING SO AWKWARD WATCHING THEM KISS...

The music didn't stand out. After I finished watching I realised I didn't notice any of the music, because the soundtrack is so basic it doesn't stand out or catch the watcher attention. Sometimes it's a good method, but not in a series like this! They surely could use some emotional music to spice things up, even a little, but no... I always pay a lot of attention to music since I'm really passionate about it, but this time I heard only my screams of frustration.

Sometimes the shots were nice and pretty, but still nothing really outstanding or professional. Again, they could use them for the atmosphere, yet they wasted another chance for making this better. AND OH MY GOD THE CONFESSION SCENE... I know everybody noticed that Seon Ho was looking in another direction, like, BRUH I CRIED... Where are you looking?! At His chest, eyes or the wall?! This scene made me so mad and anxious. And there were a lot of simillar shots, maybe not so noticale as this one, but just the fact that it's a common mistake is not making it any better.

Of cousre I don't have only bad things to say about this show. There are indeed a few good points (suprisingly). I liked that the characters were visually correct and even had the same hair as the characters in the manhwa. That suprised me since it's not a common thing. And you know... they didn't change much about the plot which is usually good but... well... just not in this case.

To sum it all up: It had the potenial, but they just didn't take the chance to create something good and created something... yup, definitely something...
I don't really recommend this series becuase belive me, it is very frustrating and it took my will to live D :

Oh! I actually liked it!

I was not expecting to like this show and yet, astonishingly, I did.
Is it silly? Yes, very much so. Is it horny? Yes, although not nearly as much as you'd expect given the setting.
But it's also quite genuinely charming, often humorous, and deals openly with sex and sexuality in a way that I haven't seen before in a K-drama, much less a queer one. Not only does it directly address bisexuality (which, again, I've never seen in a K-drama), the characters' sexualities and preferences and their exploration thereof play a big part in the story in general.
I didn't even mind the miscommunication plot, which is a trope I normally abhor, since it kind of makes sense here.
Feelings are complicated, relationships are complicated, and even the most self-aware and introspective of people - which, to be clear, these characters aren't - will occasionally go to stupid lengths to avoid having conversations they're worried about. I'm not saying the story is incredibly realistic by any means, but it's also not nearly so far removed from reality as a lot of reviews here make it out to be; at least in my opinion.
I will admit that the show suffers under its short run-time, especially during the last episode where some scenes feel like speed runs of what should have been much more drawn-out conversations and plots.
I also wish Joon Seok, whom I found myself quite fond of, had gotten a slightly less open-ended storyline.
All in all though, there is nothing so egregiously wrong with this series that I wouldn't recommend watching it.
It's certainly not a masterpiece, but it is weird, fun, and refreshingly, earnestly queer.
If you're looking for a somewhat less-than-typical romcom and you've got a certain tolerance for strangeness then I'd say this show is definitely worth a watch.

i loved it a lot

i don't know why this drama has such a low rate, honestly it's not the deep angst sad story drama but its still a good series. i think people are just used to the angst at this point. personally i loved this drama cause its adorable, i love the charachters chemistry, i love the non-stereotypated bisexuality of the protagonist and i loved all their small akward interactions, and all the gay panics from them and the misuderstanding with his boss made me laugh so much. i actually felt a bit bad for the best friend that got rejected in the end, cause i liked his character, but also i think that was the right thing to do. overall i would totally rewatch this.

A good start only to devolve in to complete mediocrity

Misunderstandings between characters is generally used for either comedic purposes or a tool to show stress in a relationship leading ultimately to breakup. But this show uses misunderstanding even before the relationship has a chance to develop. Why would you assume someone’s relationship status the first day you met them.

The story is about an adult webtoon artists who hires a talented assistant who has a secret crush on him only to later start having feelings for his assistant. Sounds promising oh! how they have butchered the plot after the initial few episodes. Their relationship not only feels rushed but you wonder why have they even fallen for each other.

Seon Ho first encounters Gu Mu Yeong during his interview and is immediately smitten by his looks. Is there anything else that we know that attracts a seemingly straight guy to fall for another guy? Nope. Just good looks. There are no moments shared between the 2 leads to show them getting closer and trying to know each other. Seon Ho appears to be too shallow and just goes for Mu Yeong because of his beauty.

Gu Mu Yeong on the other hand has been shown to be falling for straight guys over and over just to be heart-broken. He falls for Seon Ho for his artistic talent. Never has he spoken to him before out of fear that he will be left heart-broken again because Seon Ho is straight. But when he gets an opportunity to work with Seon Ho, he is nothing but excited but also acts aloof and non-caring. Now, what else about Seon Ho does Mu Yeong like. No idea! This can certainly be attributed to short run times with limited episodes. Due to this you too feel that there is something missing and find no sound reasoning why you should root for this couple.

There is also Han Joon Seok, Mu Yeong’s only friend who abandons all priorities just to help Mu Yeong. After being with Mu Yeong for so long he realises he has feelings for him too. I did not like this twist as it comes out of nowhere. Joon Seok should have remained as a friend who cares deeply about Mu Yeong.

Also, I thought we have reached that era where a series if it so choses can show two same sex couples kissing. But the kissing scenes in this series appears so awkward as if the actors are being forced to touch lips together. Even them hugging each other is frustrating to watch as you feel visible distance between the two. There are ways to show that the leads are falling in love with each other without showing them kissing and hugging. Please don’t make half-hearted attempts just because it’s needed as it convinces audiences that they aren’t truly in love

In conclusion, the series is short and you can binge watch it when you have nothing else in your watch list

It's some part were good, especially the stating part but later it wasn't that good but what can i say it was short length ep series, it gave nice story in those short length ep, but idk i didn't liked later on parts it could have been better, i wanted to see their together part after being together like more of their chemistry scenes after being together, because the staring off ep made me think and wanted to see them together if it would have happened then it could have made the series more good?

Enjoyed it!!!

Not sure why this is getting so much hate. Overall show and story are good! Actors did great! I don't like when people comment on kissing, but we should keep in mind country of orgin. their kissing is the same kissing seen in A LOT of other shows. Especially in S. Korea. I actually enjoy the amount of kissing in this show compared to others, even if their kissing isn't them fully making out. Only thing I didn't like about the show was the best friend. I think he should have been more clear/stern with him at the end, not just laugh everything off.

It was easy to watch and funnier than I thought it would be! Definitely should give it a try!

A show I will most certainly not watch again

I was here since the beginning of this show, I noticed the movie is coming soon also, but I really liked how they played this show well, and when Mu Yeong really only liked Seon Ho at first, but once he became the assistant Seon Ho started to like him. The only thing I’m iffy about is the friendship between Mu Yeong and Jon Seok or “that person” it’s like a weird friendship they have to leave there lovers for each other, but in the end it’s only a one sided love, I was fine with there relationship at first, but when the disappeared lie, on Seon Ho’s birthday which could’ve ruined the relationship, just to say I love you to someone you even expected it not to happen back to you, I will give him that, because of confessing even when it’s not going to happen to him. Not gonna lie I really have a strong hate towards Han Joon Seok because I do feel he kinda ruined the end of the show for me just because he needed to show his feelings for Seon ho, but I do feel bad for his girlfriend because she genuinely liked him, but it was obvious he never liked her. Anyways I do recommend this series, but at the same time I don’t because the ratings show everything and I didn’t like the whole ending part.

Super cute and Funny but short like all the Korean BLs

I really enjoyed watching this, I may or may not rewatch this if I was bored, would I recommend this? Yes, I would but only if they needed something desperately to watch. It has a happy ending but it wasn't satisfactory. They took so much out of the webtoon which is very typical coming from Korea. I knew they were going to take out the spicy when making the drama but they took out the ending when they show the two mls moving in together and hiring a new assistant. I would of loved to see them pretending they weren't a couple in front of the assistant while she knew the whole time cuz they were bad at hiding it and she accepted them just to find out she is a bl fan.

Fluff series from a steamy webtoon

I did really like this drama, it's fluffy and cute the acting is okay even though I have the feeling one actor is better than the other.
The story is good and somewhat near the webtoon. It's a good an light watch. They even went the same frustrating route of misunderstanding as the webtoon did.

But it sometimes just feels weird, the way it is filmed feels off sometimes, especially the confession scene was filmed so weird that it didn't feel like they even really looked at each other, i do know that this is most likely do to the reshoot of most scenes that they had to do when they changed the actors because of a controversity.
But it just takes away from the story, and they could have done better ngl.

Also something that bugged me a little bit as someone who has read the webtoon and loved it, was the lack of skin ship and cuteness of these two. I know the webtoon is spicy af and ofc they couldn't even do half as much as the webtoon portraits but for a series that talked multiple times over sex and had the actors end up in some well, obviously two toned, positions the kiss scenes just lack kind of.
But maybe that's just me.

Again it's a good drama and something i may rewatch when I'm hella bored, and i do recommend it if you like the trope of misunderstanding and are a fan of very fluffy story's.

is it really worth it?

i gave it a chance, did not have any expectations before watching it...
well, it's not that bad considering that each episode is 15 minutes, but it does say a lot that the best character is lee minyeong (seo min seo), the editor. the story seems a little stiff (i didn't read the manhwa but it's probably way better), the kissing scenes are really boring and the chemistry between seon ho (song seunghyun) and muyeong (ko chanbin) is not that great actually.
so, yeah... it could be better, but it's not horrendous.

Office Romance on the Smallest Scale

I’m so surprised with how much I enjoyed this show. Not because I thought it would be bad, it’s just that a lot of k-BL’s are coming out that I didn’t think I’d be too interested. From the first episode alone I was wrong.

I remember hearing this drama was coming out and the premise of it being an adult webtoon created getting an assistant and they fall in love. That’s pretty small of a summary but just watch it. It’s interesting and not afraid of the adult themes it brings up. But the thing is- it’s funny and self aware of the absurdity of the situations.

So far the main characters are very fun especially Seon Ho. This show is all out with the humor with sexuality and it’s not treating being gay as a joke. Instead it pokes humor at other ‘things’ and is enjoyable and not forced with the humor. It’s lighthearted and the tone doesn’t shift harshly, the camera work is good- it’s not biting off more than it can chew. Gu Mu Yeong is very handsome and I love how forward Seon Ho was with hiring them, I’m looking forward to their interactions and this show is very promising.

Now after reading some of the webtoon... let me say that its a surprise that they would adapt this in the first place. They really keep the tone so similar and change things where they need to. It is so clever to see the changes and to see what they keep.

With this one and the miscommunication, you have to remind yourself it’s based off a webtoon. Now then doesn’t lower my standards.. I honestly appreciate it more because of it. It’s just me saying that you can’t take this drama too seriously because it’s a short web series and it’s doing it’s job of being cute and funny too good
Finishing this show up it can get a bit frustrating but for what is based from it does pretty well. This show is harmless and I really enjoyed it

i didn't have expectations yet it still failed to meet them

wow. this is the worse bl ive seen in a While. the storyline is nonsensical, the acting is hard to watch, the characters are inconsistent. this seems like a first draft of something that wouldn't be published.
seonho is one of the worse characters ive had the displeasure of seeing grace the screen, and having to listen to him talk out loud to himself (while also narrating at the same time?!) for a over half of each and every episode, because thats obviously the only way to share information with the viewer, is inane.
in the first half. he's just blundering and annoying, but he slowly becomes a controling creep, in the last episode, mu yeong gets a call that his friend joonsoek, who is in the hospital (because he got hit by a car after breaking up with his fiance after she saw pictures of him kissing mu yeong, obviously.) is missing, and he needs to leave and seonho's reaction is to say that if he leaves, then their relationship is over, because its his birthday, you obviously cant care about about other people on HIS birthday. (also what relationship?! y'all met like a week ago!)
mu yeong has the personality of a wet piece of paper, and his seemingly only trait is taking the opposite meaning of whatevers been said to him. oh, seonho said he hasn't dated anyone in three years? that means he's dating his boss, that he only sees to discuss work. he could could be replaced by a dead fish and the story would stay the same (the kissing would too).

min yeong is fine, i dont have to much beef with her. she was funny if not a bit obnoxious and poorly acted.

joonseok's fiance, yoona deserves so much better, the only thing she even vaguely did wrong is threaten to share the kissing pictures, but only so he would say he was the one to call off the wedding, because if she called it off there would be problems in her family. amd i dont thing she actually had any intention of sharing the photos.

(also how old are they supposed to be?? the actors have a nine year age, but the characters supposedly were in high school together? that seonho doesnt seem to remember at all?)

if you aren't going to pass on this one for any of those reasons then pass because of their six shades too light, badly blended foundation.
