Watching Veil of Shadows made me remind of Moonlight Mystique

All about, love and sacrifices for family, loved ones and friends that evil can never ever understand love.

Moonlight Mystique is about a girl named Bai Shou saved by a deity when she and her sister were attacked by a demon. After that encounter, she ventures on the path of immortals regardless of opposition from her family and city. She goes through pain, sorrow, and misfortune to finally complete a promise she made to the deity who saved her. Smart female lead, secret identities, ancient immortals, adventure.

The Destiny of White Snake is about Xiao Bai, a snake, who was taken under Zi Xuan, an immortal, due to pity. Their relationship festers jealousy, anger, and annoyance to others, causing Zi Xuan to die and reincarnate into the human world. Xiao Bai did not know of his reincarnation, causing her to wander the world in search of his remanent spirits.

They both have tragic deaths, scenes and throwing up blood (if you like that sort of stuff).

The only difference is that Destiny of White Snake looks so low budget and I can't help but laugh at the hair. BUT TRUST ME ON THIS!!! THE SONG, THE SACRIFICE, THE DANGER, THE SCHEME, IT WILL HURT YOUR SOULLLLLL

In Moonlight Mystique a character uses a fan, exactly like in The Double. So they're exactly the same.

- Although I feel there are not many real similarities between MM and LYF (esp S1)there is one that I feel is really important.
-Tushan Jing and Xiling Xiayao are very similar to Fan Yue and Bai Shou. In the sense that they reach a point of being very healthy. Despite all the pain, angst and misunderstandings that TJ and XY go thru in S1. In S2 they transform into a supporting, strong, communicating, trusting loving, loyal relationship. They took all their mistakes from the past and learned from them. Similar how JY and XY did when they were reborn into Fan Yue and Bai Shou.
-They fight for their love; they are a team and don't let anyone tear them apart anymore especially themselves. Very much like Fan Yue and Bai Shou.
TJ pretty much loves XX the same way that FY loves BS. He doesn’t care about anything but her.
S1 should be watched in order to understand S2.

The opening scenes are so similar you can’t help but wonder if it’s a rip off of the save story. Except that the girl wants to kill the night deity in SD whereas the FL was thankful for his help in MM…
