SLOW COOKER ROMANCE!!!

I can say that I was a little fed up after watching this drama. This drama is cute and frustrating at the same time.... Like the male lead likes the online version of the female lead , while not liking the female lead in real life lol Then the female lead is googahgah over the male lead in real life. It's literally a game of mouse and cat chase, they literally missed each other by little bit each time and they always has misunderstanding/ miscommunication.

Male lead is a lead in a gaming company trying to produce a type of game called 3A ( not really sure what it stands for) Female lead works in the company on the opposite team as a designer/artist. She has a crush on the male lead, but the male lead doesnt have too good feelings for her. They both play this online shooting game. The male leads has a crush on the online female lead. For the longest time he didnt figure it out, up to when the female lead finally musters the courage to confess that she likes him. She gets rejected by the male lead.

The story then revolves around how the male lead is trying to make it uo to the female lead and trying to apologize .

Like so many miunderstanding and lack of communication... like the male lead suggested for the female lead to act very cutesy and lady like, but when it fact in real life he hates that type of girl. The male lead is literally stone cold and no response until he figures out the online person is the female lead, then her does everything to try to make it up to her... This is why they get together so late. They have good chemistry but way too little screen time romance. Their relationship literally slow cooks so it seems really real and convincing.

Starts off good but gets Anticlimactic

I really enjoyed the first half of this drama. The love square of Qian Ling liking Gu Xun while he likes her online persona was excellent. I loved that he was inadvertently sabotaging their potential relationship by giving the online Qian Ling bad advice for pursuing her real-life crush, and thereby creating his own monster when her antics annoyed him. He was a bit harsh to her but I loved that he was making his own bed and when the karma hit him, it was glorious. But things started to drag as he attempted to win her forgiveness - too much PPL and not enough sincerity. The confession and kiss scenes were anticlimactic and the final few episodes felt rushed.

Turns annoying very quickly

It started ok, but quickly turned into a stream of annoying events. The male lead is very manipulative and pushy for a big part of the show. First he tries to make his "online friend" fail in getting a guy and then when he finds out he knows her IRL he starts being very pushy and stalkery. The female lead starts relatively ok, i like her bossy attitude at times but then when it comes to male lead she just forgets how terrible he was and melts on sight. The game company setting could be interesting but its very simplified and feels mostly like somebody stitched together some ideas on what game company looks like, it was very distracting seeing all the nonsense that became part of it. Had to skip through most of the last 6 episodes. Honestly instead of 24 episodes 16-18 would have sufficed.

Good rom-com with charming leads having strong chemistry

Overall, it's a nice, sweet rom-com, especially enjoyable when binge-watched. Zhou Ye and Lin Yi's strong chemistry was a pleasant surprise for me; I didn't expect it when I started the drama. Episodes 1-6 might not be everyone's cup of tea. Despite my dislike for the FL chasing ML storyline, having read the web novel, I enjoyed the initial parts, and Zhou Ye did a really good job. The series becomes really enjoyable from Episode 7 onwards. I appreciated that they didn't rush into the dating part; I dislike when dramas skip the buffer period and have the leads jump into each other's arms once any misunderstanding is resolved. That being said, I also enjoyed the pre-dating era because Lin Yi and Zhou Ye exude tension between GX and YQL perfectly. Their dating phase was sweet, intertwined with their work-related problems.

I didn't like that they omitted GX's parents' divorce and how it affected his life. It was a major part of the novel and kind of shaped his character.

They could've inserted more romantic scenes from Episodes 20-24. I liked the dynamics between YQL's parents and GX; it was so cute. However, Xin Yi and Junnan deserved more screen time; their scenes felt rushed and frustrating to watch. They could have removed the Feng RuRu subplot and dedicated that time to explore JJN's feelings about XY. Sorry, but the writing made me feel like my girl Xin Yi deserved better.

So even if it's not your perfect drama, it's a really easy watch, and you'll actually enjoy the characters because their only purpose in life is not just to fall in love! Such leads, especially FLs, are rarely found in the romantic Cdrama world.

this has become one of my favourite/top cdramas of all time

if you're looking for a cdrama which genuinely just puts you in a good mood and fun to watch, this drama is something you indeed should try. I'm a big fan of both Lin Yi and Zhou Ye as they are both my top actor and actress. I've been waiting for this drama's release since the day that they were both announced as leads, and the drama honestly to me, is really good.

- This drama is a very light one with almost no big drama
- Both the leads are very beautiful and their chemistry is probably one of the best out of most cdramas
- The FL's outfits were literally so PRETTY
- I loved the love story
- The slow burn was executed well as it made me feel butterflies all the way through :)
- No love triangles
- Sweet and romantic scenes
- Fun comedy moments from the leads
- Loved the personalities of these two characters
- I adored the FL and her characteristics. She didn't let things get to her easily and made people 'work hard' to earn her respect
- Lin Yi and Zhou Ye had natural on-screen chemistry and you can see that they have both grown very close with one another. Their chemistry on and off screen was really cute, and these two have developed a very close relationship in real life too. I love how comfortable they both are with one another, and they both mentioned that they still chat through WeChat from time to time too

However...
- the first few episodes (1-5 ish) didn't feel TOO special, but I accepted it because of my love for Lin Yi and Zhou Ye
- just like how others would say, the emotions were kind of dragged a bit too long. As much as I love this drama to bits, I do have to say that they spent too long holding grudges and not confessing sooner
- I wish the dating era was longer. I love these two, but it just felt too short. Their chemistry really saved it but I wish we got to see more like dates, etc. The build up was good, but they ran out of episodes to include the extra bits

According to some netizens, there are lots of scenes which were unable to see the light of day due to the censorship in China. Honestly rather sad about this, but I guess that's what they need to do. I just wish Youku could release all the unreleased scenes to the international fans. The censorship in China is so annoying when it comes to these things.

I also think that it would have been a bit better if there were more episodes because the ending was a tinsy-bit rushed. I wish we could've seen more of their office romancešŸ„¹. But overall, I love this drama. I don't think I've ever been so immersed with a drama like this before. It really made my life a lot more fun. I also REALLY LOVE the OST. The only other cdrama where I've completely adored the ost is Go Ahead. But the OST of Everyone Loves Me is so good. All the songs are good!!

By any chance, does anyone know what the song is in this scene? I really love it but not sure if it's a real song or notšŸ„²
https://youtu.be/QXkehjKzS44?si=1-ab8DOFSZFPjHwE&t=264

I hope and wish that Lin Yi and Zhou Ye work in more projects together because I'm not ready to move onšŸ˜šŸ˜. I honestly don't know what to do now that it's finished. Lin Yi and Zhou Ye are so perfect. I'm manifesting for more projects of linzhouye so much!!!!!! Please hear out prayers and cast them in more dramas!!!!

ughhhh

Iā€™m only at episode 5 & Iā€™ve skipped a couple of seconds already even minutes, itā€™s way too cringey. The FL is pretty, yes but her character and her acting here is soooo cringey I couldnā€™t stand it. the ML is so so I liked him in Put your head on my shoulder, not much on derailment just the parts where he cried, it looked so fake and couldnā€™t feel an ounce of emotion out of his crying scenes there. I donā€™t know, I think Iā€™ll drop this one pretty soon. itā€™s a waste of time. Again itā€™s just my opinionā€¦

Probably one of the cutest and best watch of the year (ever??) so far

This was so cute. SO SO SO SO SOSOSOSOSOSSOSO CUTTEEEEEEEE. Genuinely so effing cute.
For starters, I 100% agree with the people who say there should have been romance. ZhouYe and LinYi are actually so cute together in this I wish there were more scenes.

But besides the lack of romance, I genuinely have NO complaints about this. The slow burn was so good. The writing and plot was emaculate. I love me a good strong female lead who is witty and funny and not afraid to be bold. YQL might be one of my favorite female characters to date. At the same time, GX is SUCH A GREEN FLAG (minus the very public rejection but hey what's a plot without character development??? my man was heartbroken and pissed let him live). I loved that she made him work for their relationship.

It is very video game heavy but honestly, I loved it. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it and looked forward to watching this. This gave me hope in cdrama romance again because after the atrocity of hidden love??? I could not believe the giant fanbase it had. This needs that hype. In love with ZhouYe and also in love with LinYi now.

LOVVVEEEDDD IIIITTTTT!!!

This is the second best drama of Linyi i feel other than put your head on my shoulder. Idk why a lot of people dislike this drama because I don't find anything to dislike about it. The ML fell for the female lead after she confessed that she was dough twist because he understood that she changed her personality because of him. He did not start to like her after knowing that she's dough twist, he used to like her personality and when he got to know that she has always been like that, he fell for her even more.

Also, the FL gave a tough time to the ML because she got rejected in front of almost all of her classmates so, obviously, any person with their sane mind would react like the FL did.

I think this drama is extremely good and WAYYY BETTER than some of the other gaming related dramas I've watched, I watched Falling into your smile, Love 020, Go Go Squid etc, but I didn't like them this much.

I wouldn't list the positives and negatives because I loved everything about this drama. It is an EXTREMELY COMFORTING drama which you could watch after a whole day of hectic schedule, The OSTs are soothing and in my spotify playlist now... Thee acting is top-notch and I loved every part of the comic scenes.

There are second and third leads but they do not get extreme highlight so we don't get second lead syndrome too.

I actually also really liked the second couple although I was a little disappointed when they did not get enough screentime because they spent a lot of time in showing Junnan with his ex (which idk why they added her because it didn't make much sense and he did not even regret much of breaking up with her as it was completely his fault, she was very sweet.)

Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this drama and it's a must watch. If you LOVVVEEEE watching fluffy, romcom office romance and neighbor's trope. This drama is TOOOO SWEET and probably the CUTESSTT Chinese drama I've watched after Hidden Love and When I Fly Towards You, last year.

No Depth

The story has no depth. It ultimately fsiled in this sense. Unfortunately the writer failed to keep the story interesting.

Other than good appearances you get nothing else. It was too shallow, boring and quite frankly a waste of time.

I had high expectations at first but it never moved me later on.

So much potential

I don't know about you, but I hated the ending.

This drama is funny and cute, with the exception of the 2ndFL. It is not that she is outside the chinese drama beauty standards, but the fact her character became so far away from where she started off. As someone who is portrayed to have social anxiety, she did not seem to be like this towards the end, which is frustrating.

I am not sure why there were so many angst between the characters for silly situations, but the story between the ML and FL was very well developed. Which is why I hated the ending. I didn't understand why they wanted to trick the viewers to think they are getting married while packing the 囍ē³– - Wedding candy, and decorating the office like a bridal shower. Then it was to celebrate the games' sales performance. I think it could have ended better with news articles suggesting it being the first 3A game ever to come out of China.

Also, I wish he was able to celebrate with his father's co-founders - I didnt understand why a super small cameo from the investor who was his father's co-founder. And also, his mother not even accepting that her son has achieved both his and his father's dream. Or at least indicating this outcome.

I did rewatch it for the romance, but the story line was not up to my standards.

A toxic train wreck, yet still somehow cute

The story is just awfulā€¦ yet still cute enough that I kept watching. The first half is a horrible, toxic relationship mess with everyone lying about who they really are. (That part does get better.) Instead of trying it win her over, he focuses a lot of energy on manipulating and trying to intimidate anyone else who likes her. Thereā€™s a lot of high school type behavior.
This show is a light watch, with a fair amount of cringe. But it is also kind of adorable. The plot isnā€™t complicated, so it doesnā€™t take a lot of energy to follow it. There are no real ā€œbad guysā€ and no surprises in the story. Itā€™s a good choice if you just want to relax and unwind without getting too invested in a story.
I did enjoy the in-game scenes and wish they had continued more of that through the show. The side characters were cute, though also not very well developed. Of course, Hong Yao is always delicious and Iā€™d like to have seen more of him.
One thing that did annoy me a bit was that the male lead was attracted to the female lead because she was fierce. But as soon as they got together she turned very docile. It was an entire personality shift.
All in all.. I donā€™t regret watching it, it probably wonā€™t watch it again.

Light and Fluffy - keep the remote handy to fast forward

Soap Opera - updated. Thank gawd it was over in 24 episodes.

Chinese Drama/Rom Com so, you must have:

- Really bad acting with the intake any kind of alcohol.
- The lead female must be really annoying for at least the first six episodes.
- Most side character females are not allowed to use their brains. No company would ever hire the timid secretary who preferred costume design and put her near such an important project. HR would have never let her get past a first interview.
- There must be at least three characters that talk too much but, say very little.
- Parents were window dressing. A good thing. The ML's dad propelled the story but, only through flashbacks - it saved so much time. His mother could have phoned in her performance.

After a few episodes, you can fast forward through whole sections and not miss a thing. ML does a good job of trying to atone for being a complete jerk. FL doesn't give herself enough time to process how awful he was to her. Having the two of them spending almost 24 hours together would be rough on anyone - especially, when one hurts you to the core. They should have had FL go home to the parent's house for several days after the rejection. She wasn't involved in the main project yet and it would have made her a more stable/mature character. Calling in sick for a couple days plus a weekend would have been perfect.

There must have been some social media stuff about her and eating. The director spent too much time with full face close ups of her eating - looking at her phone - and talking - all at the same time - annoying and a little disgusting. You'll notice that you almost never see ML eat more than a few bites before scene ends.

Fashion - honestly, loved all of it. Usually, they have them wearing the oddest styles and designs that don't always compliment. But, this one got it right in all ways.

The environment - too clean...too perfect. China understands that they can train a planet to believe life is perfect - just like everywhere else - in China. No real life mentions of life and its strict controls. Houses are gorgeous. Nary a mention of cost of living. Food is always plentiful and crime is always easily solved with four minutes of watching someone. Propaganda.

Life in the bedsheets is similar to how Korea treats its BLs right now. Once you get past a kiss or, two - you see them fully clothed in bed wearing clean bright clothes. In this one - it is 1950 America - you don't see them in bed together past a hug.

ML is a great actor. I went back to the scenes where he realized his terrible mistake. Perfect. He handled everything from that moment on perfectly. I stuck with it for him - I hope he has a long successful career.
